Outside of the Athletic Union, the SU provides other sporting opportunities that, whilst still competitive, run on a social basis through its Intramural sports programme. We run 5-a-side football, netball, tennis, basketball, running and climbing as well as other sports on a demand led basis.
The SU website is your one-stop-shop for all your Union associated memberships and activities. You’ll be able to sign up to any of our sports programmes, join societies, register for our free training and development courses, browse our JobShop, purchase tickets for our events and more! The SU operates bars across its two campuses: Centro at Cyncoed and a bar within the Campus Centre at Llandaff. The SU host events throughout the year, so make sure you sign up to the SU website for all the latest information.
RETRO Retro is our online comment portal for students to share their articles, reviews and comments on anything that interests them. Retro raises issues and provides essential information for all Cardiff Met students. It is written by an open group of students and SU staff. Its aim is to engage students in the union, with everyday life at the university and to offer information, entertainment and education. The Centre offers a great space and relaxing environment for students to enjoy the catering, bar and Starbucks that it houses. The Students’ Union central offices, including the SU run Athletic Union, are also based within Centro. We also have a retail operation just off main reception at the Cycnoed Campus.

With a recently refurbished bar area and housing its own catering operation, a SU run Starbucks operation and convenience store, Zen is a great social area. We provide a dedicated range of services for the students based on the Llandaff Campus and for anyone else who wishes to visit us.
