ABOUT THE GUILD VILLAGE MARKETS GUILD VILLAGE IS THE HEART AND SOUL OF CAMPUS LIFE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA, WITH CAFES, FOOD TRUCKS, STUDENT SERVICES, SHOPS AND CLUB ACTIVITIES CONCENTRATED IN ONE LIVELY AREA. Centrally located on the beautiful UWA campus, it’s a bustling hive of activity every weekday during semester – and we’re inviting you to get among it as part of the Guild Village Markets. Markets run every Tuesday and a limited number of Wednesdays during semester from 9am till 2pm, with a larger market once a month and special events. They attract a diverse audience of students, UWA staff and local community members. As a market stall holder, you will also enjoy the following: • Mentions in the Guild Weekly Newsletter, (access to over 25,000 UWA students) • Weekly mentions on the Guild’s Facebook page (access to over 17,000 people), and • Prime positioning near a variety of shops, student services, and food outlets.

MARKET STALL INFORMATION WE’RE ALWAYS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR NEW AND EXCITING PRODUCTS TO ADD VARIETY TO OUR MARKETS. With a mix of permanent weekly stalls, fortnightly stalls and pop-up stalls, the Markets will attract visitors week after week, with customers both catching up with their long-time favourites and exploring what’s new. Handmade crafts, vintage wares, local produce and more are welcome*. If you run a vibrant small business that will appeal to our predominantly Millennial student cohort, we’d love to hear from you!

HOW TO APPLY To apply for a stall please complete the online expression of interest form and upload the required documentation. The UWA Student Guild Events team will review your application, inform you of the outcome and confirm your trading dates and all induction requirements. www.uwastudentguild.com/market-days * Approval of all stalls is at the discretion of the UWA Student Guild. If a market stall is found to be in breach of this, the UWA Student Guild will contact UWA Security and the WA Police. NB: It is at the discretion of the UWA Student Guild to approve your stall based on items you are selling. STALL HOLDER: 1. BOOKING Stallholders’ preferred dates at the Guild Village Markets must be included in the EOI form and any changes to this availability must be made in writing. A booking is only valid if it has been confirmed by the Guild Events Department. The Guild may refuse any booking for any reason at their discretion. Only Guild approved stallholders can trade on their agreed dates, stallholders that have not been approved will be asked to leave the Market. 2. PAYMENTS Full payment must be received prior to or on market day. A tax invoice will be issued following payment. 3. CANCELLATION Stallholders must notify the Guild Events Department of cancellation no less than a week prior to the market. If you have prepaid you will receive a credit towards a future trading date. Notice of cancellation must be given via email to the Guild Events Department events@guild.uwa.edu.au. 4. FOOD AND BEVERAGES Food and beverages are strictly prohibited from being sold at the Guild Village Markets. The Guild Events Department has full discretion to alter this policy at any time. 5. MUSIC AND NOISE Stallholders can play music at their stall site between 12-2pm at a low volume. No music can be played outside of these hours due to the surrounding offices and lecture theatres. 6. STALL ALLOCATION Stallholders may request to be in a particular stall location. The Guild Events Department will endeavour to allocate stalls according to these requests, but does not guarantee that all requests will be fulfilled. A weekly market map along with other important information will be emailed to Stallholders prior, showing stall allocations. These stall allocations must be followed unless advised by a member of the Guild Events Department. 7. EQUIPMENT As stallholders, it is your responsibility to supply your own trestle tables, chairs, and marquees (if required). There is no power available on site and as the Markets are surrounded by offices and

electrician before being brought into the market area. Failure to do so may result in equipment being banned from use for safety reasons. 9. ALCOHOL & SMOKING Guild Village Markets are an alcohol-free event. Patrons found consuming alcohol will have it confiscated and may be ejected from the venue. In accordance with University Policy, no promotion of alcohol brands or licensed venues is permitted. UWA is a smoke-free area and no smoking at all is permitted on the grounds. 10. BAD WEATHER OR MARKET CLOSURE The Guild Village Markets will operate in all-weather unless there are extreme weather conditions. Stall holders will be notified no later than 24 hours prior to trade. If the Guild Village is not suitable to use as a venue due to disruptions other options will be considered. If no suitable alternate location is found, the markets will be closed and stallholders will be notified as soon as possible. For all prepaid stalls a credit will be applied towards a future trading date. 11. DISCRIMINATORY MATERIAL No group or organisation shall distribute material or promote activities that are deemed defamatory, sexist, racist or homophobic. If in doubt about your literature or approach, contact the Guild Events Department. In the case that an issue arises on the day, the judgement of the Guild Events Department is final. 12. VEHICLE ACCESS There is a loading bay behind the Refectory kitchen, which you can access via Hackett Drive, entrance #2. Park there while you unload your goods and then move your vehicle to the appropriate parking area. If this loading bay is not sufficient for your stall, or the bay is full when you arrive, you may enter the campus via Fairway Entrance #4. Drive carefully at a walking pace with your hazard lights on, along the specified path to Guild Village, unload your goods and then park in an appropriate area. Vehicle access to Guild Village is limited to between 7.00am-8.45am (bump in) and 2.00pm- 3.30pm (bump out). Any unauthorised vehicles on site outside these times will incur a fine, as per UWA policy. 13. PARKING As stallholders, you are entitled to apply for a parking permit from the University. You’re able to purchase a book of vouchers from the UWA Parking and Security office that allows you to park in certain areas of the campus carparks for a longer period at a reduced rate. A parking application form must be signed off by the Guild Event Team and will be available to you once your application is approved. There are strict parking restrictions, so please read your permit and follow the parking signs. The Guild cannot take any responsibility for any parking infringements incurred, including when you are unloading and loading your items. 14. PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE All stallholders must have at least $20 million Public Liability Insurance. A “Certificate of Currency” is required to be submitted to the Guild Events Department prior to your first trade.
