Each patient is very important to A New Hope. Here is Susan who have stage three Breast Cancer. She has been receiving treatment at A New Hope for the last two years. She has tried other treatment facilities and there is nothing like A New Hope. She appreciates the extra spaces for self healing, such as the salon and meditation rooms. To all the patients, it was important to create each space less sterile environment.

PROGRAM

PROGRAMMATIC STATEMENT

The vision for A New Hope is to provide a warm, calm, and welcoming atmosphere. It will comfort all the minds as they step inside a tranquil environment. Supplying spaces to not only help their bodies, but help their minds. The building will have warm tones that emphasize home-like touches, but incorporate the palette of oranges, reds, and greens.

DESIGN CONCEPT STATEMENT

As patients walk into A New Hope, the aspiration is to have them feel alive and welcomed into a tranquil environment. This will be achieved by bringing in warm wood tones, organic textures, and calming hues throughout each space. Hints of gold will be seen on most lighting fixtures that will mimic the setting sun on the coasts of Naples, Florida.

PROJECT GOALS

SUSTAINABILITY

1: Nourishment(WELL AP N01): providing healthy eating options on site. Ex: nutrition stations.

FUNCTIONAL / AESTHETIC

1: To have a strong design that support the calming and soothing effect as the patients walk through each space.

2: To have way finding be addressed by having a color coded system for the patients since this was a huge issue after doing research.

4: Add in holistic spaces rather than having a main focus on a science approach.

3: Light(WELL AP L01/ L05): providing indoor light exposure through daylight strategies. Providing exposure to light based on design strategies.

2: Mind(WELL AP M03): supporting mental and emotional health spaces with my spaces. Ex. Meditation and recharge rooms
