WHO’S WHO

Hall Staff

Hall staff live within the hall and provide support for residents, access to resources, policy enforcement, and community building efforts in each building.

Resident Director

Each resident director is a full-time professional staff member provided with ongoing training to manage a residence hall. Many of the RDs’ daily responsibilities deal with the general management and operation of the hall as well as interpersonal areas such as advising individuals and groups. Specifically, each RD is responsible for training and selecting the resident assistant staff, handling discipline, making referrals, and establishing an environment conducive to academic and personal development.

Senior Assistant

The senior assistant has the primary responsibility to serve as overall support in the day-today operation of the residence hall under the supervision of the resident director. The SA is a student who has previously been employed as a resident assistant and has been selected to serve in this role based on leadership and organizational skills as well as previous performance.

Resident Assistant

A resident assistant is an undergraduate student that lives on your wing and serves as a mentor. The RAs’ major focus is to aid residents in their adjustment to university life. As a member of the residence life staff, the RA is responsible for informing residents of university resources and programs, working with various aspects of hall governance, offering and receiving personal feedback, developing an educational and community atmosphere, encouraging involvement, and dealing with personal and disciplinary concerns.
