Paediatric Sport and Exercise Medicine

Exercise is medicine for healthy children as well as for children with chronic disease. This course will give a thorough introduction into paediatric sport and exercise medicine. During this week you will learn how to apply physiological knowledge into clinical practice. We will have several practicals during this week. There will be demonstrations on how to do a cardiopulmonary exercise test, field fitness test and body composition.

Mathematical Modelling of Infectious Diseases

The course focuses on concepts and methods of mathematical modelling of infectious diseases. Starting from basic assumptions on transmission of infection, models will be formulated and key quantities will be derived. Mathematical tools to formulate and analyse compartmental infectious disease models will be introduced and applications to specific infectious diseases and intervention strategies will be discussed. Students will develop their own models using specialized software.
