EID Upgrade Upgrading your UT EID confirms your identity to the university computer network and allows you to conduct electronic transactions that would normally require a legal signature. To upgrade your UT EID, visit the ID Center in person and present a valid, current government-issued ID. (High school ID cards are not valid.) You must also sign the EID Agreement which gives your UT EID legal signature authority. Valid forms of identification: • Driver license from the United States or Canada • Valid instruction (learner’s) permit or temporary license (must include photograph) from the United States or Canada • U.S. Military ID • U.S. or foreign passport • Alien registration card with photo (INS form I-151 or I-551) • U.S. citizen ID card (INS form I-197) • Resident citizen card (INS form I-179) • U.S. Employment Authorization Card – EAD (form I-766) NOTE: You must be 18 or older to upgrade your EID. If you are under 18, you must have your parent or legal guardian present to countersign the EID Agreement. Both you and your parent or legal guardian must present your own government-issued photo identification. Students who are unable to bring their parent or legal guardian to the ID Center may apply for a temporary remote upgrade request. Office of Student Financial Services The Office of Student Financial Services (OSFS) provides information, applications, and assistance to students pursuing a degree at UT Austin who want to obtain financial aid. Four broad categories of financial aid are available: scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study employment. In addition, our office provides financial literacy information and workshops through our Bevonomics program.
