EDITORIAL

20 years. 20 years of passion, sharing, solidarity and emotion. Whether at the start or finish line, on the trails around Mont Blanc or behind the scenes at the heart of the event’s organisation, men and women have worked together to develop the extraordinary adventure that is the Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc.

Since 2003, it has become THE end-of-summer event, bringing all generations and sportsmen and women from all walks of life to Mont Blanc, including amateur enthusiasts, specialists in the discipline and international athletes, as well as spectators, families and enthusiastic onlookers eager to discover the beauty of this region and the sporting ambition of the runners. Every year, the event is open to everyone. Not just you, dear runners, who come to challenge yourselves alone or accompanied by your loved ones, but also the local population, partners and local representatives, tourism professionals and even the mountaineers and alpinists living on the terrain covered by the eight events.

We want you to experience an extraordinary adventure, respectful of the environment and rich in emotion, solidarity, and authenticity, close to the iconic Mont Blanc. We like to say that the Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc is a small world tour, an adventure where you learn to remain humble in the face of adversity, courageous in the face of extreme effort, and altruistic in success. It is a sporting epic, but above all a quest for the self, the event offers an opportunity to reconnect to yourself and to others through values that we hold dear.

4

SHARING

The Dacia UTMB® Mont-Blanc at its core is a story of women and men. A great adventure bonded by common values and vision, that of sharing and fellowship between peoples. The Mont Blanc region is one of those rare places where there remains a strong connection between the people and the great outdoors. It is this relationship to the environment that brings together the inhabitants of the Mont Blanc region around a common endeavor, that of sharing, across our orders and with other passionate people, their knowhow and relationship to the mountain and its environs.

HERITAGE

For 20 years, the inhabitants of the Mont-Blanc region have put this knowhow and expertise to work in the service of the Dacia UTMB® Mont-Blanc. It is thanks to their excellence and knowledge of the territory that the event that is UTMB® is a logistical success which allows us to bring to life, over the course of one week, this territory of 3 countries, 18 communes, 7 valleys and 800 km of paths. In each of these regions, the energy of these men and women allows the Dacia UTMB® Mont-Blanc to host, each year, no fewer than 10,000 runners and 20,000 companions under ideal conditions. All come together around a common goal: to convey the values and the heritage of which they are so proud.

INTERNATIONAL

The UTMB® is synonymous with sharing and fellowship among peoples. This sharing takes place between runners from around the world, women and men from 5 continents and 100 nations. The last week of August in the villages and towns around Mont Blanc, you’ll meet American, Chinese, Japanese, Brazilian, Argentinean, Australian, Spanish, Omani, and South African runners ... All are welcome, and together they bring a cosmopolitan dimension that is at the heart of the event.

EXPERIENCE

The experience of each participant is one of the very core concerns of the Dacia UTMB® Mont-Blanc. As our adventure has continued through the years, the Dacia UTMB® Mont-Blanc has always taken care to focus on the experience of each participant, so it continues to be authentic and complete. The high quality of the organization, the experience of the runners, the post-race follow-up, the liveliness of the region, and the scenic beauty of the race routes… All these are measures that contribute to the quality of the experience.

PASSION

As the Dacia UTMB® Mont-Blanc celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2023, the event continues to live with the same passion and the same convictions, with a goal of building, year after year, an ever-more cohesive event that is both collaborative and alive. An event with humanity at the heart of the experience. We are committed to insuring that every UTMB® race is a time of sharing, emotions and passion. We wish each and every one of you a great UTMB® experience!

ETHICS

Respect for people and the environment, mutual aid, equity and solidarity are the fundamental principles governing the organisation of the Dacia UTMB® Mont-Blanc. These values take concrete form throughout the year, both locally and internationally. Consideration of the territories and municipalities crossed, respect for participants and volunteers, protection of the environment and the health of runners, implementation of charitable actions. All these initiatives have been made possible by the organisation, which since its creation has given priority to concrete actions such as the 190 bibs for solidarity, health and the environment wear by runners in 2023. More than ever, we wish to share these values and actions with all those who participate in the great Dacia UTMB® Mont-Blanc celebration.

REGULATIONS

RACE BIBS

Race-bibs are given to each runner upon presentation of:

• A valid photo ID

• The backpack that you will be using during the race, so that we can attach the gps tracker to it. The race bib can be picked up at one of 2 locations : Courmayeur at the Dolonne Sports Center or in Chamonix. You must indicate where you will pick up your bib in your Runner Account online prior to the Event. The race-bib must be worn on the chest or stomach and must remain permanently and completely visible during the whole race. It must always be placed on top of all clothing and must not be positioned on a leg or on the pack. The runner’s name and partner’s logos must not be altered or hidden. The bib is the pass to access the shuttles, buses, aid stations, medical points, rest rooms, showers, bag drop-off or pick-up areas... The bib is only withdrawn if the runner refuses to comply with the race director’s decision. If the runner abandons the race, the bib is cut and deactivated..

ARE YOU SPONSORED?

That’s great but you can strictly only display it on your clothes and equipment used during the race. No flags in the name of X, or banners for Y.

CONTROL

Each runner will be supplied with 2 electronic chips and a bracelet. Certain check points are automatic, others are manual. Unexpected controls will be carried out by the organization. Runners who are not permanently in possession of their chips and wrist-bands will be penalized.

ENVIRONMENT

Help us to conserve the natural surroundings; do not drop your litter along the race route. We all share the responsibility of keeping our play-ground clean. Do not forget to carry bag in which to put your rubbish between two rubbish-bin points.

PORTABLE CUP

Designed to avoid wastage of disposable cups throughout the race, each runner must provide their own, with a minimum capacity of 15cl. Attention, gourds/water bottles or water flasks with screw/clip top are not accepted as beakers!

«BRING YOUR OWN UTENSILS»

The organization will not distribute any disposable cutlery, beakers/cups or bowls at aid stations and refreshment posts. You are asked to carry your own utensils if you wish to eat hot food (soup, pasta).

BYOU

SPARE BAGS

1 bag for personal belongings in Courmayeur. During the race, it is mandatory to retrieve your sack in Courmayeur and then drop it off again in the appropriate area before leaving so that it can be returned to Chamonix. (Attention: no spare bags in Champex) Neither walking poles, nor fragile or valuable objects, are to be placed in these bags. Only the bags provided by the organization will be allowed. Any delay in their repatriation is due to logistical constraints. A bag can be returned after the runner arrives in Chamonix, in particular in the case of abandonment early in the race. Thank you for being patient and respecting the work of the volunteers.

RESPECTING THE REGULATIONS AND THE RACE STEWARDS

As in previous years, the volunteers are there to help you, but also to ensure that the rules are respected. Among them are the Commissaires de Course (race stewards). Some of them have specific duties concerning the immediate application of real time penalties due if the rules are not respected. It is important to understand that the penalties which entail a stop are applied during the race! For the race leaders this represents a possible descent in the ranking, and the slowest runners this could mean missing the next time barrier. The Race Stewards have the right to check your mandatory equipment at the start and at any point along the route. If you are missing an element of the mandatory safety equipment (no minimum water reserve of a minimum of 1 liter, no waterproof jacket with hood, no torch, no survival blanket, no mobile/cell phone) you will be immediately disqualified. To know more about the penalties, read the complete regulations on

In case of exceptional or particular events, penalties will be decided with the race directors.

Only runners wearing a visible race number on their chest or stomach, their wristband and their chip on their rucksack will have access to the aid stations. Organisers will only provide still water or energy drinks for filling water bottles or water bags. All other drinks are to be consumed on site only. 3 types of refreshment points are available:

• Drinks only: still water, sparkling water, Näak Ultra Energy drink, cola, coffee, tea, vermicelli soup.

• Full feed: drinks (as above) + cereal or energy bars, Ultra Energy Näak bars and waffles, sweet cakes, chocolate, bananas, oranges, sultanas, savoury biscuits, cheese, sausage, bread.

• In addition, a hot meal is available in Les Chapieux, Courmayeur and Champex for the UTMB® (a gluten-free option is available on request). A post-race meal is served in Chamonix.

ABANDONING THE RACE

Unless you are injured, you must not leave the trail other than at a checkpoint. In this case, you MUST notify the checkpoint supervisor, who will permanently cancel your race number and collect your rucksack chip.

The runner must keep their cancelled race number as it serves as an access pass to the shuttles, buses, meals and treatment rooms. Repatriation will be decided in consultation with the station manager, in accordance with the following general rules:

• Buses are available at certain feed stations indicated by a “bus” pictogram on the timetable for runners who have abandoned the race and want to return to Chamonix.

• Runners who abandon the race at another aid or feed station, but whose state of health does not require them to be evacuated, must return to the nearest repatriation point as quickly as possible and by their own means.

• In the event that a runner abandons the race before a checkpoint, it is imperative to return to the previous checkpoint and report withdrawal from the race to the station manager. If, while returning to the previous checkpoint, the runner encounters sweepers, it is the sweepers who will cancel the race number. The runner is then outside the organisation’s area of control.

New: for better feedback, you can also declare your withdrawal on the application.

CUT-OFF TIMES

These are calculated to enable participants to reach the finish in the maximum time allowed. They are indicated on the various documents provided. The cut-off time indicated is the deadline by which competitors must leave the checkpoint. The organisers may modify the cut-off times for safety reasons. Runners will be notified by SMS and/or email. No runner will be allowed to leave a checkpoint behind the sweepers.

Please note, however, that the withdrawal procedure described above also applies to runners that have the application.

REPATRIATION

The organisation does not provide repatriation by car or 4x4 (except for medical reasons and on the decision of the medical officer or head of station). Runners who abandon at a mountain station must return as quickly as possible and by their own means to the nearest repatriation point where the organisation’s buses are available.

REST AND SHOWERS

LIGHTING

For better night vision, the route markers have a yellow reflective element that will illuminate when your headlamp shines on it. In 2017, the organising team also introduced green markers. These are a reminder that you are in a sensitive natural area.

CAUTION: if you no longer see the route markers, turn back! Out of respect for the environment, no paint will be used on the trails.

You can only take a hot shower at the finish. On the course, showers are only available on medical advice. The rest areas provided by the organisers will be strictly reserved for runners who are racing or who have just finished. Under no circumstances will they provide overnight accommodation. Access to the rest area will only be possible for runners who have their own sleeping bag liner.

CREWING AND ASSISTANCE

Assistance is only permitted at certain aid stations (*). You may only be assisted by one person at a time, and only in the area specifically reserved for this purpose, on presentation of the “Assistance” ticket and at the discretion of the station manager (the rest of the aid station is strictly reserved for runners).

The “Assistance” tickets are given to the runner in the race number envelope. The runner is then free to give each ticket to the person of his/her choice.

ACCOMPANYING ALONG THE ROUTE

Again, to ensure equality between competitors, whatever their position, it is forbidden to be accompanied during all or part of the race by a person who is not a participant, outside of the zones of tolerance which are clearly marked in proximity to the aid stations. This authorizes short walks for family and friends but forbids pace setters. Race stewards are positioned at several points along the route and can give real time penalties if the regulations are not respected.

ROAD CLOSURES (EXCEPT UTMB® BUS)

Your assistant has the right to one piece of hand luggage (a bag with a maximum volume of 30 liters) in which to transport the necessary products (food, clothing…). Assistance provided by a professional team, or any other pro, medical or paramedical – even if they are relatives - is strictly forbidden. This is to ensure equity amongst all the runners, and to prevent aid stations from becoming a Formula 1 pit-stops. This doesn’t mean that your family and friends cannot support you along the way. Simply, so that everything runs smoothly, you are asked to respect the instructions given by the aid station team leader.

At the end of August, in the Mont-Blanc region, the weather can change very quickly. In these conditions it is difficult to forecast the weather conditions in a very precise or complete manner. So as to be always ready for the reality on the ground, and in order not to burden you unnecessarily, the organization has added three kits to the list of mandatory equipment.

The «hot weather» and «cold weather» weather kits are integrally a part of the obligatory equipment. According to the weather conditions, the organization can activate a kit and inform each participant before the opening of the race-bib distribution of their race.

Each runner undertakes to carry the compulsory equipment, including the kit activated by the organisation, and to keep it on his/ her person throughout the race.

Spare warm clothing, essential in case of cold and rainy weather or in case of injury.

Poles in case of rain or snow for your safety on slippery ground

Vaseline or anti-heat cream

At least 20€ cash (just in case...).

Reusable bowl

GPS watch

Knife or scissors for cutting elastic bandage

SAFETY

ENVIRONMENT & WEATHER

The Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc races are all take place in open country, in mountainous terrain, with some remote areas (no roads or telecommunications…) with weather conditions which can change very quickly even at the end of August (snow, hail, fog, heat (>30°) or intense cold (<-10°), violent wind). Advice along the route :

- Do not stop at high peaks

- If you can’t see any way-marker: turn around and go back to the previous marker

- Follow the marked paths

EQUIPMENT

Some common sense reminders for facing difficult weather conditions:

- Anticipate the cold as well as extreme heat

- Don’t wait to shiver before covering yourself up

- Don’t change in full wind: anticipate or wait to be sheltered

- Protect yourself against the sun

Walking poles: watch what you do with your poles particularly at the beginning of the race when there is a high human density. Do not wear the wrist straps on the descents: in case of a rough fall wrist-straps prevent the suitable use of the hands (injuries to shoulders, wrists, forearms or more seriously the head).

EATING & DRINKING

Hydration and the consumption of energizing snacks must be adapted to the meteorological conditions and enriched in salt throughout the effort. Keep a good balance between slow and rapid release sugars. Find our health advices on

MONTBLANC.UTMB.WORLD

FATIGUE AND VIGILANCE

Rest areas are available at aid stations for a few moments of sleep. It is dangerous to stop and sleep alone outdoor. Fatigue and the lack of vigilance could cause an accident. Run within your limits (above all over the first part of the race course) saving your energy for later to overcome difficult situations which may arise, such as a sudden change of weather conditions.

COMPULSORY PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE

To ensure peace of mind at the start of your Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc race, we remind you that you must have personal accident insurance to cover any search and evacuation costs in France, Italy and Switzerland. Helicopter repatriation costs between 800 and 3,000 euros. Every year, runners get caught out because they were not sufficiently prepared. Such insurance can be taken out with the organisation of your choice.

Since 2022, UTMB Group has been offering repatriation assistance insurance.

For €49 a year, you can take out insurance that guarantees worldwide cover for rescue, repatriation and medical care (including helicopter rescue). Sign up here:

The application is a reference interface for your safety, while providing you with invaluable information about the competition (real-time tracking of your race and that of your friends). In the event of an SOS, the app lets you text your GPS position directly to the organisers. This saves precious time when it comes to taking care of you. Please note, however, that it is not a substitute for a call to Race HQ. A mobile phone is compulsory with the international option activated during the race, and with a working battery. Under no circumstances should you put your phone in aeroplane mode, as we need to be able to contact you before, during and after the race. For runners who will be spending more than 15 hours on the trail, it is advised to bring an external battery.

Check that the emergency number you have given is the contact information of the person in your entourage who should be alerted in the event of a problem. Very important: To improve your care in the event of an incident, check that you have entered your contact number for the duration of the race in your runner’s area. You can update it up until the start of your race.

It is compulsory not to leave a person in difficulty alone.

RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

SIGN-POSTING

In order to better understand the natural environment that you are crossing, we have created a specific sign-posting system. So, as you approach a herd/flock of animals or a naturally fragile zone, you will be informed by the sign-posts.

HERDS/FLOCKS

On approaching these zones, pay particular attention to your behaviour so as not to frighten the animals: don’t wave your arms or poles, don’t shout and slow down.

POLES

Hiking poles are forbidden in certain fragile sectors to avoid degradation of the site. These areas are marked by specific signs.

RESPECT OF THE PROTECTED NATURAL AREAS

FENCES

Certain routes cross through fenced pastures, please would you close any gates behind you.

FRAGILE SECTORS

You are requested to stay on the main paths so as to protect the nature around you, avoid aggravating the erosion or disturbing the protected flora and fauna.

The Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc races cross protected natural zones and areas:

5 nature reserves

A nature reserve is an area which constitutes a reservoir of remarkable and fragile bio-diversity. In the Haute Savoie, they are managed by the association ASTERS (the Conservatory of the Haute Savoie’s natural areas).

6 Natura 2000 sites

Natura 2000 is a European program creating a network of land and marine sites identified for the rarity or the fragility of the wild animal or plant species, and their habitats.

1 Franc district

In the Swiss territory the Franc districts have the aim of the protection and conservation of rare and threatened wild mammals and birds as well as the protection and conservation of their habitats.

NO MORE PLASTIC AT THE AID STATIONS

In order to reduce the use of plastic by runners and volunteers at the Dacia UTMB® Mont-Blanc, and thus limit your carbon footprint and waste production, the organisers will no longer be using disposable cutlery, cups or bowls at the race bases and feed stations (including for volunteers). In 2023, there will be no plastic bottles at the refreshment points. You will still find sparkling water, cola, still water and energy products, but these will be made by individual soft drinks machines.

Remember to separate your rubbish at the refreshment points. Organic waste such as leftover bars, fruit, fruit skins, leftover sausages, etc. should be disposed of in the bins provided. Try to take with you only what you will eat. Let’s avoid wasting food together.

MONTBLANC.UTMB.WORLD

In case of exceptional or particular events, penalties will be decided with the race directors.

36 THE RACES

AID STATIONS

1 TICKET PER ASSISTANCE STATION

1 TICKET = 1 PERSON

Your assistant has the right to one piece of hand luggage (a bag with a maximum volume of 30 liters) in which to transport the necessary products (food, clothing…). Assistance provided by a professional team, or any other pro, medical or paramedical – even if they are relatives - is strictly forbidden. This is to ensure equity amongst all the runners, and to prevent aid stations from becoming a Formula 1 pit-stops. This doesn’t mean that your family and friends cannot support you along the way. Simply, so that everything runs smoothly, you are asked to respect the instructions given by the aid station team leader.

(*) PERSONAL ASSISTANCE IS TOLERATED AT THE FOLLOWING STATIONS: • CHAMPEX

• TRIENT

• VALLORCINE

YOUNG CHILDREN

Due to possible waiting time and difficult weather conditions, children under the age of 3 are not allowed on the shuttles.

PETS

Pets are not allowed in the base camps.

LIVETRAIL

44 THE RACES

REGULATIONS

BYOU

SPARE BAGS

1 bag for your personal belongings in Beaufort. During the race, you must collect your bag when you arrive in Beaufort and return it to the designated area when you leave so that it can be taken back to Chamonix. The bag should be left near the startline in Courmayeur before the start. No walking poles, valuables or fragile objects should be placed in the bag. Only bags provided by the organisers will be transported. Returning the bag will depend on logistical constraints. A bag may be delayed in relation to the runner, particularly if the runner drops out at the start of the race. Please be patient and respect the work of the volunteers.

MONTBLANC.UTMB.WORLD

In case of exceptional or particular events, penalties will be decided with the race directors.

52 THE RACES

AID STATIONS

REGULATIONS

CREWING AND ASSISTANCE

Assistance is only permitted at certain aid stations (*). You may only be assisted by one person at a time, and only in the area specifically reserved for this purpose, on presentation of the “Assistance” ticket and at the discretion of the station manager (the rest of the aid station is strictly reserved for runners).

The “Assistance” tickets are given to the runner in the race number envelope. The runner is then free to give each ticket to the person of his/her choice.

(*) PERSONAL ASSISTANCE IS TOLERATED AT THE FOLLOWING STATIONS:

• BOURG ST MAURICE

• BEAUFORT

• LES CONTAMINES

ACCOMPANYING ALONG THE ROUTE

Again, to ensure equality between competitors, whatever their position, it is forbidden to be accompanied during all or part of the race by a person who is not a participant, outside of the zones of tolerance which are clearly marked in proximity to the aid stations. This authorizes short walks for family and friends but forbids pace setters. Race stewards are positioned at several points along the route and can give real time penalties if the regulations are not respected.

YOUNG CHILDREN

Due to possible waiting time and difficult weather conditions, children under the age of 3 are not allowed on the shuttles.

REGULATIONS

MONTBLANC.UTMB.WORLD

In case of exceptional or particular events, penalties will be decided with the race directors.

68 THE RACES

AID STATIONS

REGULATIONS

MONTBLANC.UTMB.WORLD

In case of exceptional or particular events, penalties will be decided with the race directors.

82 THE RACES

AID STATIONS

88 THE RACES

DACIA UTMB ® MONT-BLANC 93 MCC

This ultra-endurance pedestrian event leads participants on a large tour of Mont-Blanc (300km and 25000m of ascent), taking high routes, without way-markers on the ground, which necessitates the sense of orientation on and off paths. Each year the route is different to allow for the discovery of the richness and diversity of paths in France, Italy and Switzerland within the Mont-Blanc massif.

PTL®

NAVIGATION

«Navigation skills» are one of the essential elements that should allow you to complete the PTL. The route is not marked out, you will have access to the GPS tracks of the routes as well as a roadbook.

THE GPS

It is part of the mandatory equipment and it must be able to accept at least 20 traces of at least 5000 points each. This will allow you to orient yourself thanks to the GPX format tracks that we will provide you.

THE GPS TRACE

The PTL® trace is provided as a GPX track file. The trace is available in several files, each containing a segment of the route or one of the folding sections. It is associated with a GPX file containing the waypoints mentioned in the Roadbook provided by the organization (they identify characteristic points such as passes, localities and junctions involving changes of direction).

ROAD BOOK

Supplied by the organisers, it includes 1:25,000 scale maps, walking times, time limits, plus information on meals and rest periods.

THE COMPASS AND ALTIMETER

In case of problem or GPS failure, these tools will help you to find your way around. They can even support you in your decision-making from time to time. The altimeter will allow you to know which altitude you are at, in order to find your way more easily in relation to the contours on the maps. The compass will allow you to set a course, called an azimuth, and to take its direction in all circumstances.

THE BALIZER

Each team will be equipped with a GPS beacon provided by the organization. This will retransmit the position of the teams via the existing satellite network. The markers will be provided at the start, they will not require any manipulation by the competitors but they must be positioned at the top of the bag or on the shoulder, in direct view of the sky.

MEAL AND REST TICKETS

You will be entitled to 4 meal tickets, given by the organization. These tickets are pre-paid and can be used at your convenience among 10 partner huts. They will give you access to a full meal (starter- main course-dessert and 1 drink). Any consumption outside these tickets will be at your expense. You will also have free access to some hut to rest, we have booked beds accordingly.

Three bases will be available, at Le Petit-Saint-Bernard, Morgex and Orsières.

ENVIRONMENT AND BEHAVIOR

If you participate in PTL®, you are necessarily sensitive to nature. We expect you to respect all of the nature, the locals and, the organizers.

• Compliance with the rules of nature reserves & Natura 2000 sites when you see the signs

• Stay on the trails

• Do not throw any plastic waste out of the bins provided

• Respect for wildlife (they are at home!)

• Respect for the decisions of the race headquarters

• Respect for volunteers and refugees, residents and hikers

«BRING YOUR OWN UTENSILS» NO MORE PLASTIC AT THE LIFE BASES

To reduce consumption of plastic, both by runners and UTMB® volunteers, and therefore limit your carbon footprint and your waste production, the organization will not distribute any more disposable crockery (cutlery, beakers, bowls) at the check points and the aid stations (this rules is also valid for the volunteers). This action called « Bring Your Own Ustensils « (BYOU) was first implemented at the Vibram Hong Kong 100 in January 2018. You are, therefore, invited to bring you own utensils if you wish to eat hot food at the aid stations.

THE RACES
BYOU ADVICE

MAIN REGULATION POINTS

• Mandatory attendance at the briefing

• Teams are strictly inseparable. If a runner abandons a team of 3, the 2 remaining runners may only continue after having ensured that their teammate is back to a lifebase or refuge with the authorisation of Race HQ. If a runner abandons a team of 2, the 2 runners stop.

• Assistance is only tolerated in life bases. It is strictly prohibited at any other point along the route, including partner huts, village or road crossings, under penalty of immediate disqualification.

• If bad conditions (weather or ground conditions) arise, we will activate the withdrawal routes, contained in the roadbook. They will be activated in the field by volunteers or partner huts.

SECURITY REGULATIONS

• Always have a telephone connected per team

• Follow the rules given by the organization to stop if necessary. Time barriers will be defined at the bases-vies and any other place deemed useful by the organization for security reasons. They are calculated to allow participants to reach the finish within the maximum time limit of 151:00 hours. `

Plastic bags for soiled paper are handed out with the race-bibs. They must be used for collecting any paper used during any urgent need along the route.

ADVICE AND SAFETY

«BRING YOUR OWN UTENSILS»

To reduce consumption of plastic, both by runners and the Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc volunteers, and therefore limit your carbon footprint and your waste production, the organization will not distribute any more disposable crockery (cutlery, beakers, bowls) at the check points and the aid stations (this rules is also valid for the volunteers). This action called « Bring Your Own Ustensils « (BYOU) was first implemented at the Vibram Hong Kong 100 in January 2018. You are, therefore, invited to bring you own utensils if you wish to eat hot food at the aid stations.

BYOU

SPARE BAGS

Runners must have their own lightweight bag (maximum 30L). They can drop it off at the Courmayeur Auditorium, near the start and finish, before collecting it once the race is over.

COMPULSORY PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE

To ensure peace of mind at the start of your race, we remind you that you must have personal accident insurance to cover any search and evacuation costs in France, Italy and Switzerland.

AN EVENT

THE DACIA UTMB MONT-BLANC 2023 (28 AUGUST-3 SEPTEMBER) WILL BE AN OPPORTUNITY TO CELEBRATE 20 YEARS OF HISTORY WRITTEN TOGETHER!

The Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc 2023 (28 August-3 September) will be an opportunity to celebrate 20 years of history written together! There have been thousands of memories created and euphoric moments lived since the event launch in 2003, and this year UTMB will celebrate the evolution of the event from its creation by a group of passionate friends to its reputation as the world’s leading trail running event. During this year’s festivities, Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc would like to pay tribute to all those that have contributed to the race’s status as a benchmark trail running event.

“Since 2003, the event has been built on values of solidarity, respect, inclusion, authenticity and humility, values that the graphic design team wanted to reflect on this year’s poster. The Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc is a unifying event on many levels, it brings us all together on the same start line, with the same objective: to share the emotions of a common passion”

Isabelle Poletti, Director of the Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc
