Our final session explores Dalit theology, a theology of liberation that takes as its starting point the experiences of suffering of the Dalit communities, who were previously
known as ‘untouchables’ under the Indian caste system. It emerged in the 1980s as a response to the continued discrimination of the Dalits both in society and within Indian churches.
