EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT VISHAL SAXENA

WILLIAM BREWER

Outside Sales Representative

Warehouse Associate

TIME AT U.S. LUMBER 12 Years

U.S. LUMBER BRANCH Winter Haven

Vishal is a Florida native. He was a customer almost 15 years ago in our infancy. The service and relationships drew him to U.S. LUMBER and he had a crazy dream that came true in 2007 when he was hired. He loves to jog and to chill out by the pool with a good cigar and a few coronas. His favorite sports team is the Miami Dolphins, and he enjoys music by The Killers. Do you have an office nickname? What is it? How did you get it? Pookie is my nickname. Mike Hain thought of it and it has stuck. What do you think is most special about your branch? Why? We have a diverse market that is very competitive and we have only been in the state for 15 years. We kick butt and take names.

TIME AT U.S. LUMBER 14 Years

U.S. LUMBER BRANCH Winter Haven

William was born and raised in Palatka, Florida. He has been with the company for 14 years and even helped to open the Winter Haven branch in Florida. He loves to spend time with his family and when he isn’t doing that, he is probably playing pool. What do you enjoy the most about your job? I enjoy solving the problems that arise during day-to-day operations. What advice would you give to new hires? Never be afraid to ask a question. I believe there is no such thing as a stupid question. If you don’t know, then ask. Always try to learn everything that you can.

KAREN WISE

GARRETT YOHO

Accounting Coordinator

Market Manager, EWP

TIME AT U.S. LUMBER 7 Months

U.S. LUMBER BRANCH Jacksonville

Karen is the mother of two kids, Brandon (14) and Alex (11). She doesn’t really have any hobbies but loves to read and enjoys playing various games. Karen is a fairly laid-back person with a good sense of humor. She is originally from Fitchburg, Massachusetts and has definitely been missing the weather there.

TIME AT U.S. LUMBER 1 - 1/2 Years

He is originally from the Mobile area, but they currently reside in Fairhope, Alabama on the east side of Mobile Bay. Garrett enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing.

What is the greatest challenge you have had to overcome in your life thus far? The greatest challenge I’ve faced is raising two kids as a single parent. Sometimes you feel completely spread thin but it will be worth it when my kids go on to do amazing things with their lives.

What is your proudest moment at U.S. LUMBER? My first year we set out with a stretch goal of $3 million in EWP and some doubted us. So being a part of the EWP out of Mobile that came together and accomplished this has been my proudest moment.

If you could witness any historical event, what would you want to see? I think I’d like to witness the first landing on the moon. I imagine it was a very awe-inspiring event for the world to see.

What do you think is most special about your branch of U.S. LUMBER? Why? We really do have some great people out of the Mobile branch. It is a good culture and you get the feeling your teammates have your back and care for you and your family.
