lmost 100 children and parents braved April showers on a Saturday morning to visit a Vicenza area organic farm in a combined Month of the Military Child and Army Earth Week event. The families visited Albaspina BioAgriturismo in Monticello Conte Otto on April 20 to learn about biodiversity with hands on activities. Topics covered in the CYSS sponsored trip included the cycle of plant life, gardening techniques, beneficial plants and herbs, fruit tree varieties and free range poultry. This first ever visit explored just one of the many organic farms in the Veneto region. Click here for more photos.
