The well-balanced development of motor skills Walking, running, jumping, climbing, hiding and sliding: it is through play that a child learns how to interact with the outside world, without his or her parents acting as a protective buffer. Play is an opportunity for children to explore their abilities, understand their possibilities and limits and learn how to overcome these limitations, day after day. Through play, a child develops cognitive skills and perfects motor schema and a spectrum of general and specific abilities. It may be said that the progressive acquisition of coordination and control over motor behaviour in interactions with the environment are the foundations on which subsequent experiences and, as a result, the entire personality of a child are built.

Developing creativity and observation skills Urbanplay basic play equipment makes use of distinct elements of colour and shape devised to stimulate creativity and visual recognition through forms of play which complement one another in a sequence intended to encourage the development of mental and motor skills in all children. We understand the importance of simplicity in the child’s world, and have therefore decided to produce play equipment that is not excessively technical or complicated, as this may often limit and stifle a child’s natural inventiveness. Instead, Urbantech play equipment products are not designed with precisely defined, rigid functions in mind, and are intended, rather, to be used however the child sees fit, in relation to the significance attributed to the object by the child, allowing imagination and creativity to develop in complete freedom.
