TEACHES

Hi! My name is Beary. I wasn't feeling good, so my grownup brought me to the hospital.
My doctor decided I needed to get an NG Tube. An NG is a soft tube that gives my belly medicine and food.

First, my nurse put the tube next to my cheek, then my ear, and then my belly. I felt the nurse touching my skin with their fingers.

Then my nurse put the tube in my nose. I didn't like how it felt, because I'm not used to things in my nose. But I remembered to hold still and not touch the tube.

My nurse said I could take sips of water to help the tube slide down to my stomach.

My nurse listened to my belly with a stethoscope to make sure the tube was in the right place.

Next, my nurse taped the tube to my cheek with a band-aid to make sure it wouldn't move.

Wait, you don't know what an X-Ray is? Read my X-Ray story here!
Then I got to have my picture taken by a really big camera, called an X-Ray!

Now that I have my tube, my belly can get the medicine it needs to help me feel better.
I felt a little scared about getting an NG tube, but my grownup gave me a big hug and my nurse told me that I did a great job staying as still as a statue and taking sips of water!

Now that my body is getting the medicine it needs, I can relax, play, or watch a show. I'm feeling better already!
