TEACHES

Hi! My name is Beary. My doctor wanted to learn more about me today.

My grownup brought me to the hospital to have my picture taken with an MRI machine.

An MRI machine is a really big, round camera that takes pictures of the inside of my body. I thought the camera looked like a donut!

First,

I laid down on a bed and my nurse gave me headphones to wear.
Then my nurse put a helmet over my head. It didn't touch me at all. There was a mirror inside so I could see what was in the room while I was getting my pictures taken.

Then, the bed moved! It brought me inside of the camera. Nothing touched me while I had my pictures taken.

My job was to hold as still as I could so that the pictures wouldn't be blurry.
While the camera was taking pictures, it was pretty noisy. You can listen to the sounds the camera makes here!

The bed moved again and I came out of the camera. My nurse put medicine in my IV that made my belly feel really warm, kind of like I peed my pants. But I didn't! Wait, you don't know about IVs yet? Read my IV story here!

Then the bed moved me out of the camera again and I was all done!

My grownup told me that I did a great job holding still for my pictures!
