Ada Parks Mills Endowed Scholarship

This endowment was established in memory of Ada Parks Mills ’33 by her family. Ada and her husband, Joe, founded and operated several businesses in Arkansas, Kansas and Texas. They were the first couple married in Raymond Munger Memorial Chapel in 1933. Awarded to business administration students.

Bob and Lil Prillaman Endowed Scholarship Ethel J. Powell Oral Communications Scholarship

H. Lee Thrash Scholarship

Established by J.P. Boone on Oct. 23, 1987, to honor his dear friends Bob and Lil Prillaman. Awarded to a student with high moral character and who is a marketing major. This scholarship was established by Susan Crowder in honor of Ethel Powell’s work in various areas of the campus. Ethel Powell was a 1979 graduate of Ozarks. This award is for a student who has shown facility in oral communication.

Established by J.P. Boone in honor of his dear friends, Mr. and Mrs. H. Lee Thrash, III. Awarded to a business administration major who displays high moral character and financial need.

Rawhouser Family Endowed Scholarship Ray Hobbs Business Scholarship

Established in memory of Dr. James W. Perrett, a former chairman of the Division of Business Administration at Ozarks. To be awarded to a business student.

Established with a gift on August 25, 1983 by Davis and Geck of Wayne, N.J., for students studying sales and marketing. In memory of the 1964 Ozarks graduate. Established by Kenneth ’63, who played football at Ozarks, and Bernice, who took classes at the college while working in the Business Office for J.T. Patterson. Scholarship is for business majors who have demonstrated financial need.

Established in 2007 by former U of O Board of Trustees member Bill Rail and his wife, Maxine, in memory of their son Michael. Awarded to students majoring in business. Juanita Vaughn established the scholarship in 1994 in memory of her husband, Paul, a 1952 Ozarks business graduate. To be given to a student majoring in business.

This scholarship was established in 2004 in memory of Phil Taylor by his wife, Joanne, and son, Philip. A lifelong Johnson County resident and local business man, Phil was a 1954 alumnus who died in 2002. Preference is given to students who have accumulated 20 or more credit hours, with a 2.5 GPA.

Established by the children of R.K. Black in his memory in 2003. To provide scholarships to students on the basis of financial need and/or academic merit who are majoring in business. Established in 2005 by alumnus and Board of Trustees member David Rawhouser ’69 and his wife, Jill, to honor their parents. Awarded to business students with financial need.

Established in January 2017 by Ray Hobbs ’77 in appreciation for the excellent way the business department and Dr. James Perrett worked with him to get a great start with a successful career. This scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in business administration.
