As you may notice from the lack of words within this publication, I am not a writer. So I will try and keep this introduction short and sweet.Occasionally I find myself compelled to organize my thoughts and broadcast them beyond the circle of people that I communicate with daily. Untitled (a fashion) magazine is one way to satisfy this need. The function of this first issue is to celebrate great photographers, stylists, clothing, and the wonderful handheld physicality of printed matter. My goal for future issues is equally simple: a modestly curated selection of talented artists that are making work around me. Every issue will be a direct reflection of my inspiration and mood at the moment I’m assembling it. As a result, the form and content will change, allowing for the exploration of new ideas and new media. I hope that it will become a continuous forum for engaging the many creative people and possibilities that lie within my reach. Because spontaneity will be an important part of concepting each book, I have not predetermined the themes and direction of upcoming issues. But there are so many avenues to take, and time will tell… The following are a few possible ideas I’ve been toying with: - “A Collaborative Effort” - People working together to accomplish a self assigned goal. Or... - “Introducing: These are people I know” Each spread dedicated to introducing someone whom I believe in. I must thank everyone involved in the process of making this book. It would absolutely not exist without the hard work of every single person that contributed in some way. You can learn many lessons from assigning yourself a project like this. The most important thing I have learned so far is that it’s amazing what you can accomplish if you just ask nicely and try hard. I guess that’s it. I hope you enjoy this first issue as much as I do.
