TED Talks – engaging 20-minute online video presentations on a huge range of topics by global thought-leaders – have changed the way we think about presentations. There is so much we can to learn from TED! Tapping into the winning TED Talk formula can help you plan and deliver more compelling presentations before audiences of any size – in the classroom, in business meetings, or out in the community. We will explore some best practices on planning your presentation (e.g. identify who your audience is, why they are there, and how to really “connect” with them). You’ll learn why you should plan presentations with intended outcomes in mind (e.g. is the purpose to inform, inspire, motivate, or persuade? What is the desired audience “call to action” take-away from your presentation?). No need to ever fall into the “death by PowerPoint” trap, boring audiences by reading aloud each text-dense slide on the screen. Come learn a better way, with Lessons from TED (Talks)!
