On 15 October 2009 (decision 64/402), the General Assembly elected Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Gabon, Lebanon and Nigeria for a two-year term beginning on 1 January 2010, to replace Burkina Faso, Costa Rica, Croatia, Libya and Viet Nam, whose terms of office were to expire on 31 December 2009.
