Canada Canada proposes an economy-wide target to reduce GHG emissions by 30 per cent below 2005 levels in 2030. Canada´s INDC is said to include all sectors and GHG gases. However, there are some uncertainties on the treatment of LULUCF. Although the country declares its target to include all IPCC sectors (excluding emissions from natural disturbances), the
LULUCF sector does not appear to be included in the base year (based on the information presented in the INDC). For that reason, it is possible that the LULUCF sector will be treated separately from the other sectors. The modelling groups largely agree on the impact of Canada’s INDC on its emissions. Projections of Canada’s future emissions under current policies, however, vary widely.
