Our College of Business was founded in 1899 as the University of Wyoming School of Commerce and Industry. While business programs have changed over the years, our college remains firmly committed to a tradition of excellence. This includes dedication to excellence in teaching, internationally recognized intellectual contributions, integration of teaching with scholarship, and service that has tangible impacts on the state and professional community. Through these efforts, our College of Business is an AACSB internationally accredited institution—an industry standard of excellence that is achieved by fewer than 5% of business schools worldwide. Our College of Business is home to over 1,300 undergraduate and graduate students. It features academic disciplines including: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, and an MBA Program. Our college also houses its own career center, a student internship program, and a focus on experiential learning, each of which is instrumental in maintaining our college’s link with the business world.

“Students enter college with big dreams, great expectations, and some nervousness about the daunting challenges that lay before them. It is our job not only to educate our students in the classroom but also to help them grow and develop into confident young adults who have the necessary skills and tools to achieve their dreams. To do this, we focus our time and effort on creating transformational learning experiences for our students. Good college education goes beyond discipline-specific knowledge—the key is to help students think critically, organize effectively, communicate clearly, and act ethically.” - Sanjay Putrevu College of Business Dean
