When it comes to attracting public money for HSG research, the focus is on the SNSF, the European Union (EU) and the Confederation’s Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI).
Für die Gewinnung von öffentlichen Geldern für die HSGForschung stehen der SNF, die Euro päische Union (EU) und die Förderagentur für Innovation des Bundes (KTI) im Mittelpunkt der Mittelakquisition.
With regard to project funding from the SNSF, the previous years’ level of applications could not quite be maintained. A total of 18 project applications were submitted in 2014 (2013: 23 applications). In the increasingly fierce competition for the desirable SNSF funds, seven projects were approved, as had been in the previous year.
In der Projektförderung des SNF konnte das Niveau der Gesuchseinreichungen der Vorjahre nicht ganz aufrechterhalten werden. Insgesamt 18 Projektanträge wurden in 2014 eingereicht (2013: 23 Anträge). Im immer kompetitiver werdenden Wettbewerb um die begehrten SNFMittel erhielten wie im Vorjahr sieben Projekte eine Zusprache.
At the level of the European research programmes, there were five new projects at the HSG in 2014 (2013: three approvals) with an overall volume of over 1.5 million francs. One project was approved by the CTI, which aims to fund sciencebased innovation topics, in particular (2013: three approvals).
Auf der Ebene der europäischen Forschungs programme gab es im Jahr 2014 an der HSG fünf neue Projekte (2013: drei Zusprachen) mit einem Gesamtvolumen von über 1,5 Millionen Franken. Eine Projektzusprache gab es durch die KTI, welche insbesondere die Förderung von wissenschafts basierten Innovationsthemen bezweckt (2013: drei Zusprachen).

The Research Commission approves and supervises the utilisation of the resources which are available to the HSG for research purposes. Its most important instrument is the Basic Research Fund (GFF). Since 2013, the GFF has been endowed with annual funds in the amount of 3 million francs for research. It must be assumed that in the long term, the increased significance of basic research will be reflected in an even more robust research positioning on the part of the HSG. In 2014, 47 research applications were submitted to the GFF (2013: 39 applications), of which 34 were approved (success rate: 72 per cent). Young researchers’ interest in the GFF continued to be very great: as in the preceding year, a total of 18 applications were submitted by postdocs, who can receive one to three years’ funding by the GFF.
Die Forschungskommission beschliesst und überwacht die Verwendung der Mittel, die der HSG für Forschungszwecke zur Verfügung stehen. Wichtigstes Instrument ist der Grundlagen forschungsfonds GFF. Dieser Fonds ist seit 2013 mit jährlichen Mitteln in Höhe von 3 Millionen Franken für die Forschung ausgestattet. Es ist davon auszugehen, dass sich die verstärkte Bedeutung der Grundlagenforschung langfristig in einer noch stärkeren Forschungspositionierung der HSG niederschlagen wird. Im Jahr 2014 sind 47 Forschungsanträge an den GFF eingereicht worden (2013: 39 Gesuche), wobei 34 Anträge bewilligt werden konnten (Erfolgsquote 72 Pro zent). Auch das Interesse des Forschungsnach wuchses am GFF ist nach wie vor sehr hoch: wie im Vorjahr wurden auch in 2014 insgesamt 18 Gesuche von Postdocs eingereicht, welche durch den GFF eine bis zu dreijährige Förderung erhalten können.
