Michael Turley (MEng Chemical Engineering with Energy 2015) won the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Global Award for Young Industrialist. Dr Juanjuan Zhu (PhD Mechanical Engineering 2012 and PG Cert 2020) was highly commended in the L’Oréal- UNESCO For Women in Science Rising Talents.

Alumni honours A number of our alumni have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to society in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2021 and the New Year Honours 2022. (Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George) for services to Science. Alan Davis (BMet Metallurgy 1982) was made an MBE for services to the NHS, particularly during COVID-19.
