If you live in a university residence hall, please join your resident advisor (RA) for your first official floor meeting. You’ll get to know your neighbors and start the school year off right. See your RA for additional information. Sponsored by the Office of Residence Life.

6:00 PM-7:00 PM Off-campus Freshman Check-in Johnson Center Fields

Freshmen not living in university housing need to check in to receive a complete K Week schedule, their K Team assignment, and information about K Week activities before they meet with their K Team. Sponsored by the Office of New Student & Family Programs.

5:30 PM-8:00 PM Parents and Families Reception Starbucks at W.T. Young Library

While students participate in the first K Team meeting of K Week, parents and families are invited to an informal reception to meet and mingle with UK administrators, faculty, staff, and fellow UK families. There will be activities for younger family members and refreshments provided. Participate in Letters from Home; write a letter to your new UK student, and the Parent & Family Association will deliver it a few weeks into the fall semester. President Eli Capilouto will offer brief remarks to parents and families during the reception. Sponsored by the UK Parent & Family Association.

Students, this is your first don’t-miss event! Tonight you will meet your K Team and K Crew leader. You’ll be spending a lot of time with them during K Week. This is the perfect opportunity to get to know everyone. When you arrive at Johnson Center Fields, just look for a sign with your K Team number. Your K Crew leader will be there waiting to meet you!
