3 WILLIAM T. YOUNG LIBRARY 1 MAIN BUILDING UK’s oldest building has a rich history of visionary thinking that dates back to 1882. Today, it houses the President’s office, classrooms and the Visitor Center.

The University of Kentucky is proud to be home to one of the world’s best leading research libraries. William T. Young Library is the crown jewel of the UK library system. The library measures 365,000 square feet, seats 4,000 people, and houses 1.2 million volumes.

Memorial Hall is the most photographed building on campus. With its iconic steeple stretching 135 feet high, you could say it represents the lofty aspirations UK has for students and our state.

The building with the funky name honors former chairman of the zoology department and dean of the Graduate School, William Funkhouser. It’s home to Undergraduate Admissions, the Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Account Services, Veterans Resource Center, Housing Assignment, offices and classrooms.
