Our staff and researchers also gave different presentations across the world, including keynotes from the launch of the First International Conference on Landscape Architecture and Microclimate at Tongji to the ECOBUILD in London, where Marialena discussed urban design and thermal comfort. And we cannot close this piece without highlighting some important conferences CASE co-organised; Marialena’s “Innovation for Sustainable Development” for the Royal Academy of Engineering Frontiers of Engineering for Development symposium in Oxford last September and Henrik’s convening of two important conferences. The International Conference of the Construction History Society, in Cambridge in April, with a focus on the history of building services and its relationship to the development of construction technology, and the forthcoming CIBSE ‘Historic building services in education, practice and research’ conference in July.
