Marsico Chair for Excellence in the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Depression Center

With a passion for mental and behavioral health, the Marisco family established an endowed chair to ensure the long-term growth and success of the Johnson Depression Center. Generosity from the Marsico family ensures faculty and practitioners there will continue to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Marsico Endowed Chair in Head and Neck Cancer Research

Inspired by the care and compassion his mother received at CU Anschutz, Thomas Marsico and his wife, Cydney, endowed this chair in her memory. This gift fuels research and clinical trials in the Head and Neck Cancer Research Program that are leading to new treatments and curative therapies with tremendous potential for people battling this form of cancer.

Cleo Meador and George R. Scott Chair of Medicine in Hematology

This chair was established by Dr. Robert and Nancy Allen to provide critical support for research in hematological diseases. This fund helps attract and retain top talent, and gives them the resources necessary to transform the CU Department of Hematology.

Gordon Meiklejohn Endowed Chair for Internal Medicine

To further Dr. Meiklejohn’s legacy of excellence in teaching, research and patient care, a group of colleagues established this fund to recognize his contributions and service to the CU School of Medicine, and to further enrich the academic experience for generations of students to come.

Roger S. Mitchell Endowed Chair in Lung and Critical Care Research In honor of Dr. Roger Mitchell, who dedicated his career to providing high-quality patient care, this chair was established to support research and care in lung disease. This funding fuels research in lung disease that will someday change lives by leading to improved prevention and treatment options.

Daniel and Janet Mordecai Chair in Cancer Stem Cell Biology

With the hope of accelerating cancer research and improving patient outcomes, Janet Mordecai endowed this chair to support collaboration between the CU Cancer Center and the Gates Center for Regenerative Medicine. These efforts integrate basic science and clinical translation to transform patient care.

Daniel and Janet Mordecai Rural Health Nursing Endowed Chair

This chair is a reflection of the commitment and vision of Janet Mordecai, a nurse who recognized the importance of serving the health care needs of all citizens, especially in underserved areas. These resources support the training of current and future nurses so they can provide world-class care in rural communities throughout Colorado.
