Greetings

and welcome to issue 8 of Universal Magazine.

May is one of my favourite months of the year. The signs of new life are a joy to witness; little lambs frolicking freely with their mums keeping watch close by, and the new born calves enjoying the abundant lush grass in the farmers fields. In the gardens and hedgerows the purple carpet of bluebells creates a majestic backdrop, whilst the blossom trees are beginning to display their delicate petals, ready to scatter like confetti on a summer breeze. I love our seasons in the Uk, it is wonderful to experience the changes, the treasures of Mother Nature’s bountiful harvest as the cycle of life continues. Back To Nature by Anne Fallas is on page 10 reminding us of our responsibility as co-creators, and how by growing our own food we can become as one with Nature. Reinforcing the message of our connection to our wonderful planet Earth, Avalon Whitefeather continues her series of articles Exploring The Elements, this issue looking at Earth on page 14. In our Interview with the Author feature on page 62 Geoff Bell shares his inspiration for writing his enlightening book Utterings of a Light Worker. Geoff takes us through his serendipitous journey of discovery, as he uncovers his Spirituality and explains how developing and strengthening the connection to The Spirit World has transformed his life. Spiritual Sapphire is featured on page 56, having opened the doors of their spacious new premises in Great Yarmouth offering food for the Mind Body and Soul in the form of workshops and courses for personal and spiritual development. They also offer a comprehensive menu of Holistic Healing services which include Bach Flower Remedies, which are featured on page 72 - Breathing, Writing and Bach Flower Remedies by Dawn Chrystal.

Prior to her husband’s death Phyllis Walsh was a wife and mother of two children. Her husband Owen was a musician and had his own music school which she helped with the secretarial side of things while raising their two small children. The incredible events which followed her husband’s death led her on a mission to spread the message that our consciousness survives our physical death. The book “The Illusion of Mortality” was born through Phyllis’s glimpses from the otherside. Phyllis has been interviewed on various radio shows both here in the UK and in America, promoting her wonderful book. This is a powerful message aimed at the bereaved and grief stricken. To give the hope and validation that you will see your loved ones again. Death is the end of the physical state but not the end of consciousness as we know it. Phyllis Walsh - Website - Facebook They say Shaman/Witches are chosen,Thunderbeings certainly accompanied my entrance into the world, attended my marriage and the birth of my daughter and many other significant milestones in my life. A catalogue of things pointed me in the direction of a spiritual life since early childhood . I accepted my calling when during a healing session I experienced a ‘shamanic death’ where my guides led me through a disintegration of my physical body until I became nothing but a glint of light in a vast universe, a time of no time, nothing yet everything all at once, in truth I have no real words to describe the experience, the ultimate Shamanic Death experience and for that I am forever humbled. So my life continues. Avalon Whitefeather Website or Facebook

Having read the article on bereavement in issue 7, I know exactly how it feels having been through it once and now going through it again.Yes I agree, we go through all the stages and unless someone has been through it themselves they could do not truly understand. The article tells exactly how you feel, the loneliness and utter despair. And slowly the cloud begins to lift, the sun creeps through and the person you were has disappeared and a new stronger person has developed. Linda Norfolk Dear Linda I am so happy that my article resonated with you and that you and hopefully other readers will be able to identify with the stages of grief in all, their complexity. You are safe in the knowledge that your loved ones who have passed, are sending you all the strength that you need to continue your earthly journey and fulfill your life’s purpose. I am so grateful that you found comfort from the article and could empathise with what we all go through during a deep bereavement. Phyllis Walsh Author of The Illusion of Mortality Facebook

Dear Universal....

Thank you for publishing the wonderful three part series ‘Aspects of Love’ that began in issue 3. It helped me to realise how in my past relationships I had been looking for a partner to fill my needs. I didn’t think that I could be happy unless I was in a relationship. I put so much pressure on the relationship and my partners, expecting them to instinctively know what I needed without being told. I figured if he was the ‘right’ man the relationships would be perfect. This attitude obviously lead to disappointment and heart-ache. I know now that I need to love myself and take care of my own needs, to feel fulfilled as an individual before rushing into any more relationships. I have now started attending courses and workshops for spiritual and self development in order to discover who I really am. I feel much more confident in myself and know that when the time is right, I will meet a man that loves the real me! The feature was a wake-up call for me and I am so grateful to have found it in your inspirational magazine. Sharon Lancashire

Dear Universal....

After reading your article on Bach Flower Remedies (page 57 in issue 7) I felt compelled to give them a try. I contacted and spoke to Dawn Chrystal on the telephone and she created a personal remedy for me. I have been going through a challenging time, and just speaking with Dawn, a very intuitive lady, I felt hopeful that the remedies would help me to gain clarity. I have been using the remedy for 2 weeks now and must say how much better I feel, I can now see a light at the end of the tunnel. I am recommending the remedies to friends, family and anyone that is in need. Thank you so much for featuring these wonderful natural remedies. Nicola Hampshire Dear Nicola, I am also a convert of the Bach Flower Remedies and have used them myself on many occasions. The remedies have been a life-line for me, and many of my friends and family too. Sometimes the trials and tribulations of life can seem overwhelming - the remedies always help me to gain perspective and reconnect with my own personal power. We all need a helping hand at times and recognising this is a sign of wisdom. The remedies are wonderful, and completely natural, just one of a huge array of Holistic alternatives available. Back To

Nature The knowledge and lore of growing your own food was once handed down from generation to generation, this wisdom has been devalued. Supermarkets have replaced the once productive gardens and food can now travel thousands of miles before ending up on our table, by this time the life force in such food is rarely alive, it is dead food..

10

squash, tomato and turnip, which will all grow in containers. Or, you can join an allotment or community garden scheme. There are also community orchard schemes, community hen share schemes and community seed sharing groups in many areas. If one doesn’t exist in yourarea, you could consider setting one up yourself. If you do have a garden, you will be able to produce a succession of veg, and possibly include soft fruit, fruit trees, herbs and also set aside a wild space for the visiting bees. If your garden consists of a lawn with flower borders, consider replacing it with a productive veg and fruit garden. There are a number of established systems for growing veg, one easy to work system is the bed system – vegetables are gown in narrow permanent beds surrounded by paths. People often use four or six beds and rotate the crops each year.

The best foods come from our own garden, with its life force intact, it is full of flavour and goodness. It is real food and it doesn’t travel miles to reach us or put a strain on the environment. Changing times are drawing us back to the security of the land. We are re-evaluating our needs and at the same time we are re-connecting with the earth. We can all grow food as co-creators working as one with nature, we are not just a part of nature, we are nature. This is our true inheritance and we can produce our own healthy, pure and organic food without disturbing the natural balance of the earth and without destroying the natural balance of our own bodies. Not everyone has a garden, but even with a small patch of land it is possible to produce a good range of vegetables, such as certain varieties of aubergine, beans, beetroot, brassicas, carrot, chard, courgette, cucumber, kohl rabi, leek, lettuce, pepper, potato, radish, salad leaves, salad onion, spinach,

Yearly crops for a six bed system are: 1. Potatoes. 2. Pea and bean family. 3. Root crops. 4. Brassicas. 5. Salad and catch crops, onions and shallots. 6. Sweetcorn, pumpkins and cucumber. Yearly crops for a four bed system are: 1. Potatoes. 2. Legumes. 3. Brassicas. 4. Onions and root vegetables. The beds can be at ground level or they can be raised beds. They should not be wider than 1.5m. This will avoid the need for walking on them and compacting the soil, as you will be able to do all the planting and the weeding from the sides. First of all measure your space and make your plan on paper. Bear in mind the sunny and shady areas of your garden, the beds will need to be in the sunny areas and your compost bin or heaps should be in the shady area. If you have enough space the four

12

outer edges of your garden can be home to soft fruit, perennial veg, herbs and the wild area for the visiting bees. If you wish to include a chicken run, work this into your plan. Fruit trees can be included but take care not to shade your beds. One very important thing to consider is your source of water. Rainwater collected in a butt is ideal for watering your garden. Water is a precious resource so minimize watering if possible, covering around your growing crops with a mulch will help the beds to retain moisture and it will also suppress weeds. One of the basics of organic gardening is to feed the soil. Bulky organic manures will build up soil fertility and this can be supplemented with your own compost. Your compost will return valuable nutrients to the earth and allow the natural cycle to continue. When you have finished designing your garden and your plan is complete, mark out your beds, remembering to make your paths wide enough for your wheelbarrow.

If you are making ground level beds, after marking out their position cover the areas with sheets of black plastic held in place with stones or bricks, leave this in place for approx 3 months to kill off any weeds. At the end of this time you will be able to dig over the beds and add your compost. You will now be ready to plant. If you are making raised beds construct the frames using wood, bricks or other suitable material. Once in place cover the inside area of each raised bed with sheets of cardboard or weed suppressing material to form a barrier. Then using a mix of topsoil and compost fill each of the frames. You will now be ready to plant. Choose seed wisely. The traditional heritage variety of organic seed is the best choice, from these plants you will be able to save seed from subsequent years harvests. The readily available F1 seed is not recommended as the plants from saved seed do not come true. In the past everyone saved their own seed, it was their lifeline. If they didn’t save seed they would have had nothing to show for their next harvest and they would have suffered or even starved. Seed is precious, without it we would not survive. You can sow your seed directly into the earth or into seedtrays and transplant the seedlings when they are large enough to handle. Simply find the

right way for yourself, the key to self reliance is finding your own way. You will not only be creating a beautiful and edible garden, you will be creating your own space. This special space will not only provide you with pure and healthy food, it will enable you to move with the natural rhythm of nature and it will connect you to the great spirit of the earth. This truly sacred experience is our real inheritance. Anne Fallas Website

Exploring the

Elements - Earth

What a wonder our Earth is? When we allow ourselves to be touched by the Earth, it touches a place deep inside ourselves that can connect us instantly to ALL life, to the creator/source /Great Mystery.

16

The Element of Earth Our beautiful Earth gives us so much to be grateful for and gratitude helps to connect us to our soul self which in turn connects us to the great web of life and all other souls. There are 92 elements naturally found within the Earth, of those, only 8 are commonly found in the Earths surface rocks and crust making up 98% of the total. These include;

Oxygen 46.6% Silicon 27.7% Aluminium 8.1% Iron 5.0% Calcium 3.6% Sodium 2.8% Potassium 2.6% Magnesium 2.1% Earth is the Great Mother to indigenous peoples, she is the provider, nourisher, sustainer of life. She is honoured as the Great Creatress, revered as a living entity - Gaia. First termed as such in the 70’s with the James Lovelock book Gaia - named after the Greek Goddess of the Earth. The Earth is so much more than the soil beneath our feet, she is our home and provides all the materials for our homes, she is our food and well being through our diet and food intake. She is our stability and grounding force. Earth holds us, supports us, nourishes us during our Earth walk, our journey from birth to death, through various cycles of regeneration, of growth, moments of stillness, death and decay, the planting of new seeds, from which to grow again. As an element, Earth is seen as stability, firm foundations, deep roots, solidity. In Winter the Earth can seem hidden, perhaps buried under snow or ice, but seemingly barren, bleak and lifeless. In Spring, moistened soil eagerly awaits the suns warmth to nourish seeds the Earth has kept safe all winter long. In Summer the land can become dry and parched, baked hard and cracked as it begs for life giving rains, yet by Autumn her fruits come into being giving us a feast for our bellies and our eyes with the riot of autumnal colours. We can walk on the Earth, go inside her caves and caverns, climb her mountains and traverse her valleys. We can dig holes or build mounds in which to bury our dead and so she can become a bridge between the ancestors and ourselves. If we sit inside her dark womb, it helps us to appreciate and find that dark space inside ourselves, understanding the need for balance between light and dark, that bridge between our inner and outer worlds. Known by many names,

such as “otherworld” by the Celtic peoples, “dreamtime” by the Aboriginees, “the void” and the “deep mystery” by Native Americans, or perhaps simply the “dark”, this is the space into which go to find ourselves. The Earths many facets, mountains, valleys, lush forests, deep caves, the crystal and mineral world, all help us to acknowledge and value the depths of our own inner self, that there is much more to us than the surface reality most people see.

18

Earth is the core of our commonsense, our sensuality, our senses, especially touch, but through all our senses we can experience Earth, touching it, tasting it, smelling it, seeing it and even hearing it. When we use all our senses and take our awareness out beyond ourselves, we can hear the gentle hum of the Earth, feel the pulse of her heartbeat. Working with the stones, rocks, crystals or plants, we can use the energy of the Earth to heal. Feeling the energy meridians - the Ley Lines, sometimes called Dragon Lines or Serpent Lines,

is an amazing experience, as is standing inside a stone circle and allowing the stones to speak to you. Earth is reliable, dependable, fertile. Earth is about understanding the multi-faceted aspects of life, building on the past to create a firm future. Earth is a manifesting energy, yet it is also a receding energy. Air was our thoughts, our intellect, Earth is our actions, our physical self, and the physical world of form. Therefore Earth also rules the areas of work, career, money and finances, the reaping of harvests from the sum of our own productivity and effort. As humans, in our effort to ‘provide’ ever more for ourselves, we blast, gouge and burn the Earth, we take the Earth for granted yet she has always been there and always will be, long after we have destroyed ourselves. Beautiful, powerful, self regulating, Earth is the fertile force of life continuously creating, holding together the natural balance of the web of life. When we understand the inter-relatedness of the elements, we can begin to realize how our every action impacts the Earth and her inhabitants. Basic Nature - fertile, moist, nurturing, stabilizing, grounding. Gravity is a manifestation of the Earth element. Type of energy - receptive. Colour - green for the living plant life, brown for the winter and decaying leaves that nourish the next cycle of life. Place - mountains, caves, canyons, forests, groves, fields, gardens, farms, parks, farmers markets, kitchens nurseries, mines. Rituals - prosperity, money, grounding, animals, employment, fertility. Herbs - all plants, trees, mosses, lichens, roots, tubors. Essential oils like patchouly, vetivert with their deep earthy tones. Stones - heavy, dark and opaque stones, such a coal, obsidian, slate. Greens such as peridot, emerald, aventurine. Metals - iron , lead. Musical instruments - drums, percussion instruments.

Creatures - dog, horse, cow, burrowing animals, earthworm, ant. Season - Winter Direction - north Time - night (midnight) Tools - pentacle, wood. Human Stage - advanced age Astrology - Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn Sense - touch (but all are stimulated) Natural symbols - salt, clay, soil, wheat, acorns, wood. In Celtic traditions, Earth is growth, fertility, stability, grounding, manifestation and the inner world. Corresponding to the north, Winter and midnight, it is perfect for this time of year and so Samhain (Halloween) and Yule are considered Earth festivals that celebrate the years end and honouring the need to rest in the dark to regenerate and rejuvenate. In our busy modern world, this ‘time out’ in our own inner ‘dark’ space, is often sorely lacking as

20

we make excuses about being too busy etc. Yet this is a necessary and very important part of the cycle of life, for each dark phase is an opportunity to set new solutions and re-seed our future reality. So how much Earth element do we each carry ? Do you consider yourself dependable, reliable, solid? Or do you allow your mind to wander and emotions to run away with you? Too much Earth will cause us to be inert, lazy, boring and unable to change, yet when not in balance equally with the other elements, we can become lost, insecure and unable to cope. Creativity, including artwork, craft making, cooking, working with crystals, gardening, herbalism can all help us to work with the Earth element. Meditation is the key to connecting with the inner aspect of the Earth energy, as the slowest vibrational energy of all the elements, being still and going within is the quickest way to connect with Earth, especially if you cannot get outside to walk in nature. There is nothing finer than walking barefoot on soft grass to connect with the Earth,

sewing seeds or doing some digging. Meditating helps you connect with the Earth element inside yourself, helping you grow and understand yourself. We are rooted here in the present by the sum of our past and we are continuously expanding ourselves, creating threads of our future selves. Through simple life affirming changes in outlook, lifestyle and our relationship to the Earth, we can bring healing to ourselves and the Earth. To heal our relationship with the Earth is to live in awareness of our everyday actions, they have the power to heal or to harm. Each life enhancing change we make, no matter how small, creates a healing vibration that goes out on the web of life. We each have the choice to live our lives in careful consideration and being sensitive to the needs of the Earth and the delicate balance of the eco-systems. That choice is in what we buy, how we shop, how we run our homes and how we use the finite resources. Consumer power is the biggest single power we have at our disposal. Buying recycled, eco friendly products, using less packaging, shopping in charity shops, growing your own food, composting any waste so it can be returned to the Earth, repair rather than replace, use essential oils and natural cleansing products such as bicarbonate of soda, lemons and vinegar. Healing, whether for ourselves or the Earth, comes from Love. It begins with a shift from old patterns of destructive behaviours and belief systems to more life enhancing ones. By sharing and giving with the same unconditional generosity that the Earth Mother offers us, we step into the web of life in a flowing vibration of open hearted abundance and love. We are the Elements, we are the Earth, the macrocosm and the microcosm, we are creation in action, fertile and moving in cycles. The cycles of the Earth are mirrored in the cycles of the cells inside our bodies, regenerating, dying, regenerating again. We humans can be the stabilising force in this time of turbulent change, we can manifest the change we desire to see. We are more than our surface reality, we are the dark inner world of infinite possibility as we incubate the seeds of change. Alchemy of Earth Everyday, offer gratitude to the Earth for Her resources that you use in your life.

Grow some food of your own, even if just a few lettuces in a window box or herbs on a windowsill. Learn to recognise medicinal plants and harvest the Earths natural healing. Meditate daily to access you inner self. Nurture yourself doing the things that make you happy and bring inner contentment. Root your life in practical and sustainable solutions to help the Earth and your own spirit flourish. Notice and focus on the natural world everyday, on your way to work, from out of the window, by walking outside during your lunch break. Find a special place in nature that ‘speaks’ to you, visit there often to allow yourself to be filled with the love and beauty of the natural flow of life. Whenever you feel stressed, picture your roots going down into the Earth and draw up nourishment to soothe and sustain you. When you feel weak and unbalanced, imagine yourself as a strong mountain with solid foundations holding you firm as you reach ever upward. Develop a lifestyle that supports the Earth, the people who care for her and her resources. Together we can all make the change . Many Blessings - Avalon Whitefeather )O( Website / Facebook

Subtle Energies Biological life is driven by subtle energies and yet these forces are barely detectable with modern scientific instruments. In spite of this, the movements of limbs and the growth of plants are all driven by them… so why does science tell us that these forces have a negligible impact in the world? The body is the living example of their power and few people would argue the ability of an arm or a leg or a jaw to generate huge forces even though the electro-magnetic fields that drive them are tiny. Life in the modern context stimulates us to dwell in the mind and maintaining an awareness in the body can be problematic but in my work with people and with nature I have come to realise that the body - not the mind - is the gateway to the subtle realms because these realms are the body’s source. Embodied is the way to go. This is the insight of Tantra, of course. Tantra tells us that mindful awareness of physical sensations and the heightening of those sensations can cause us to break through the bubble of physical consciousness and into the auric and transpersonal fields that are in and all around us. Bliss and an inrush of subtle energy often accompanies this breakthrough. It’s a feeling of heightened sensory pleasure and well-being that is also connected in to the subtle forces and realms transcending the body. The body and the subtle realms are, of course, already congruent with each other, it’s just that in daily life our awareness is not necessarily a part of that connection. Here’s a meditation I teach on the Walkinginspirit retreat to dissolve the boundaries between self and

22

the experience of the subtle energies beyond. Read it through to the end before trying it. Relax in a quiet space then close your eyes and drop down into quiet awareness. • Gently push your stomach in and out and allow it’s movement to breath for you. Stay with it until it becomes natural and automatic. • Send your awareness throughout your body. Ground yourself in the living sensation and let go even more deeply. • Maintaining the embodied feeling, extend your attention out into the world around you. • Open like a flower opening to it surroundings. • Take in all the sounds and subtle sensations without focussing on any one thing in particular. Hear-feel, breath-feel, feel-feel! • Come into the presence of everything and feel all the senses and sensations mix into one total living experience of the present moment. • You may feel an inrush of energy as you make contact. • Reverse the process to come back to normal awareness and make sure you are grounded before going about your day. As you make contact it’s possible that you may get a message, a download of understanding or an insight. If you do, just allow it to percolate inside you without worrying about it and take a walk to reflect on it afterwards. Frankie Sikes Website Facebook

Numerology - 13 In May we have Friday 13th looming, so I thought that I would share my thoughts on the number 13 and whether it is a lucky or an unlucky number. The superstition around the number 13 is believed to have began with the story of the last supper, where 13 people sat down to eat before the Christ was crucified. One of those people turned out to be a traitor and so it is thought by some that for 13 people to sit together is unlucky. However the Ancients believed 13 to be a powerful number and taught that he who understands the number 13 would have great power. For me personally, 13 is a lucky day as this is the day my beautiful daughter was born. As a Numerologist I look at the numbers individually; 1 represents new beginnings, a fresh start and an ability to rise to new heights. 3 is the number of creative energy, of manifestation and of life and love and the dance of life. Therefore 13 represents an opportunity to rise above the problems of the past and truly begin to create a new exciting future. 1 is also the number of self and so the number 13 enables us to literally re-invent the self or manifest a new self. When we add the two numbers together and reduce to a single digit we get 4 which is traditionally the number of grounding and of earth and order and structure. 4 enables us to bring the energy of 13 to an earthly level to be used in a practical way. In the Tarot deck 13 is represented by the Death card which symbolizes closing the door on the past and opening the door on the future. Again this represents new beginnings and brings a natural understanding of the need to let go of old energies in order to allow new energy to come in. 13 is a powerful number which carries intense vibrational energy which if used in the wrong way could have a detrimental effect on the person. For example if this energy was used purely for selfish

purposes then the persons spiritual growth would be affected. There is a universal truth that what we give out is what comes back to us, “As ye sow so shall ye reap is the quote that springs to mind here. The secret to working with the energy of this number is to accept change gracefully. The influence of the number 13 often brings upheaval so that new ground may be broken and is also associated with high intellect or genius. People born on the thirteenth are often ahead of their time. These beings often have a natural ability to work easily with the laws of manifestation. There is a natural understanding of the law of attraction and when this energy is used with pure intent it can help to bring about positive change for the good of all. If this is the number of your day of birth then you may find that you have a strong karmic connection to the people who are close to you. You may have chosen to be here at this time in order to help someone to fulfill their karmic journey. If this is the case then any day which reduces to 4 ( i.e. 13, 31, 22 ) should provide additional energy and opportunities to help you on your path. The Five Stages of Grief

26

1. Denial and Isolation. As human beings we go through a plethora of emotions from birth to our final days on earth. Happiness, joy, fear, anger, sadness and grief. Of all these emotions which touch our life without a doubt the most crippling and devastating emotion is that of grief and loss.

In this issue I am going to be talking about the first stage which is Denial and Isolation. I can empathise with each stage because I have also lost integral family members in my own life. With my father it was expected, but even when he eventually passed there was still that sense of shock and disbelief. It is the finality of physical death which we all find hard to accept and even believe. My husband on the other hand was young and seemed in very good health. He died suddenly. So I encountered both elements of an expected passing and an unexpected passing. With the death of my husband there was huge denial. There was no warning or expectation that he was going to die. He was still very young and in apparently good health. I could not except that he was gone from my life. There was no expectation. No impending sign to warn me that his sudden demise was about to happen.

As a society we tend not to speak of bereavement and grief. The reason we fear it will upset or compound the feelings of loss for the person who is grieving. Instead we use euphemisms or try to diminish the huge impact that this has on an individual. Most of us are really not equipped to be very effective at giving the type of comfort one needs during this time. Unless we ourselves have been touched by the loss of a loved one it is very difficult to empathise and feel such raw pain. When someone we love dies our whole life is put into disorder and despair. Like a personal tsunami that has swept through your life. The ripple effects are far reaching and have devastating effects if not dealt with properly. Most of us are familiar with the five stages of grief; 1.Denial and Isolation. 2.Anger. 3.Bargaining. 4.Depression. 5.Acceptance.

28

Immediately my brain tried desperately to make sense of what had happened. In the days following his death I was living in a fog of disbelief and yes, denial. Logic and rationale were no longer valid. I half expected to hear his key in the door and tell him I had the most dreadful but realistic nightmare that he had died. My brain was not able to function fully. To take on the enormity and the sudden catastrophe which engulfed my life. There was no sense to what had happened. One moment he was sitting up laughing and enjoying life. The next he was gone. In less than three minutes my life as I knew it had changed forever. For a long time I was incapable of to making any sense of this. Denial was my constant companion. I would go to bed each night and pray that in the morning, it would all be a very bad dream. And most of us do this to compensate for the mental turmoil that grief can bring. The brain has to compensate for such an overwhelming and destructive experience. Denial is one way it does this. As I mentioned before, there is no logic to how our brains can trick us into an augmented sense of reality. We then use this reality to sooth and make sense of what has just happened in our life.

The absence of someone you love and who was so instrumental in your happiness no longer exists in your life. When that person is no longer a fixture in your life your mind tries to compensate in other ways, and denial is the main way we do this. In the beginning denial can be an effective tool, but this can only last for so long - it is not a permanent expression of our reality. Eventually the fog will clear, and the longer we deny what has happened, the more difficult our recovery will be. It varies from person to person, we all grieve in different ways. No two ways are the same and that is ok. Each one of us has our own individual way of handling situations and grief is no exception. When someone you love first dies there is this unbearable feeling of isolation and abandonment, no matter how many people come to your side. There may be hundreds of people but it never lessens one’s feelings of loneliness. Because you are so focused on the one person that is no longer physically in your life, the pain and fear become unbearable. It is at this stage where your grief becomes blurred and at times irrational. You start to compensate your reality with thoughts that they may come back, that this is only transitory or perhaps even a wild figment of your imagination. This is a very normal reaction to a devastating personal situation. Never be too hard on yourself. You are experiencing one of the most ravaging of human emotions. Grief is a powerful and at times disabling emotion. Denial is a tool the brain uses in the early stages to block out the harsh reality of what has just happened. The void becomes larger and deeper. A void one wants to fall into and cover up inside and hide. Remember that you are in shock. Even an expected death when it finally happens causes emotional turmoil. It is the finality of the situation, the harsh fact that you will never again see this person for the rest of your natural life. We all have different coping mechanisms to deal with this. There are no right or wrong ways. Whichever way helps you in the initial stage to process and heal is the right way for you personally.

The isolation aspect that comes with denial is extremely harsh. Perhaps the person who died was your significant other; a parent, sibling, child or a best friend. The stronger the connection you had with the person who died the harder it will hit you. For example a distant relative who you have not seen in years will not have the same detrimental affect as someone you were extremely close to. Like animals who sometimes retreat to be by themselves in certain situations, we may feel the need to also be alone. To process the enormity of what has just occurred in our lives. To try to make sense of sometimes a senseless situation. Especially in the case of a sudden or unexpected death. It is in these particular incidences that denial can take a firm hold on the bereaved person. The effort of being with other people seems too much like hard work. So we retreat. We are trying to heal our emotional wounds, the wound of loss and adjustment. These can run very deep and take a long time to recover. We push people away, or try to be too stoic and strong, to give the impression that we can handle what has just happened. I would like to say at this point to anyone who is near a grief stricken person not to take any negative or unfriendly gesture too seriously. They are going through something so debilitating that they are incapable of tending to the needs of those giving assistance. I know myself I was sometimes short with those who were trying to help. I was not capable of keeping calm, and to acknowledge that it is ok. People will be very understanding in the main. Sometimes it is ok to say that you need some alone time, and I think this is also very important. Because eventually you will have to face up to your new situation and reassess what needs to be done. Yes try to accept any help that is being offered. And in time if you need more interaction with family and friends you will feel more comfortable to do that too. It is really retreating and recharging your emotional battery and usually this needs to be done alone, without the distraction of others. People are wonderful and kind, they genuinely want to help. It is up to you to give them the signs when you are ready and willing to receive that help.

Just be aware that being in isolation for too long is not a good thing. We are social animals. We need one another and in time we will accept the help that is being offered, in our way. You brain is still full of the memories of the deceased, so they live on and also live on in the minds and hearts of those who knew them. Denial affects each individual in different ways. And also the length of time it also takes to be able to reestablish your new reality. The one positive which helped me personally in the early stages of my grief was this, look at all the other factors in your life which have not changed; your family and friends, your home, your environment etc. Things like the neighbour’s cat who still comes to your window. The bird’s nest which is still outside in your garden. There are so many other constants which remain unchanged. Focusing on these aspects in your time of loss can be a good anchor to help you to establish your foundation and roots again. And yes in time you will need to recognize that your loved one has died, and also the harsh reality of this will soften as you gain strength and acceptance. I will conclude by saying that denial and isolation are completely normal. It is natural. Do not feel like you are losing your mind or losing your grip on reality. It is your brain’s coping mechanism, how to deal with your loss . It is a normal function of grief, to protect and heal in the early stages. I will also suggest that for some, it may be necessary to seek medical help if they become unable to cope completely. I.e. Losing the ability to eat and sleep are important areas to be able to function again on a daily basis. Allow yourself one little treat in the day to call your own, something that you can look forward to. My own bereavement counselor called them the ‘Little Tea Lights’ in the dark. Because you have been put into this new situation. Like being placed down into a new environment. You have to negotiate your way around again like you are in the dark. And sometimes you will fall and stumble, but as you become more accustomed to your new reality you will find your way more confidently.

30

It is nice to have aids and little crutches to help you along the way. These can be as simple as a nice bubble bath to look forward to, meeting with a close and supportive friend, or even taking a few days away and going into new surroundings. What ever feels good for you is the right thing to do. As I mentioned myself, I had such a wonderful and supportive bereavement counselor who helped me find my way back to who I was. I would always advise you to seek professional help if the need arises. If you find that you are struggling for too long then I would advise a professional to help in your recovery. To end on a positive note, know that in time you will smile and laugh again. You will live your life. It may not be the life you intended, but remember your loved one would want to see you happy again, and to move on with hope and courage in your heart. It is the best present that you can give them. If not, the real tragedy is that in a sense a part of your identity has died and that would not be what the deceased person would want for you. Yes a part of you has died, but the memories will live on forever in your heart and you will get a new resolve and strength to live the life that you were meant to live. And to be happy and smile again. Phyllis Walsh author of The Illusion of Mortality Facebook / Website / Amazon

Faith

I’ve spent 45 of my 49 years learning, researching and working with the human condition. You could say it was inevitable that I chose this before I came into this life or perhaps it was a complete accident and the wiring in my brain led me to become conditioned to rationalise human nature. Or you could say I had no choice at all, it was purely survival and ever since, it’s driven me to make sense of my life. I’ve contemplated this many times when tested to the limits and I guess I always come up with the same conclusion…does it matter? As humans we can be so hung up on what pushes us to get to where we are today or where we’re going in the future, that we’re too focused on the doing and not the present moment. I’ve worked as an Intuitive Consultant for the past 20 years and have helped thousands of people to overcome negative programming. These programs have held them hostage to conditions and challenges in their lives that have stopped them from being their best self. Faith led these clients to me in the first place, is the element that keeps them trusting the transformation, and helps them to let go of what no longer serves them. It then stays with them for the rest of their life as they build trust in this invisible force which will then always be there when they call for help. It took me many years to learn patience to be in the moment and understand exactly where I was in the world, today I realise that’s all that’s mattered. I now understand this is the key component we need to give us the power to create what it is we are meant to be in the future and what gives us the impetus to deliver and succeed to reach our goals. Faith is the crucial ingredient needed to glue it all together.

32

When I was a very young child and lived in a loving home I took faith for granted knowing that the tooth fairy would arrive during the night to haul off my old tooth from under my pillow and reward me with money. As long as I’d been a good girl all year, I also knew that Father Christmas would bring me all the toys I’d dreamed of. In my formative years it was faith kicking in to show it was alive in me, even if I did take it for granted. Everything at that time was a case of being in the moment and the only concerns I had were playing, eating, sleeping and entertaining my family with endless dancing in my mum’s fancy nightdresses. Faith was there to let me know all was well in my world and I took it for granted as life was magical and rewarding. Everything changed for me though when I was taken from my mother and delivered to the home of my father and stepmother when I was 3 years old. My world altered instantly to one of terror, fear and survival. Having no instruction manual to deal with that complete U turn in my life, I was thrown into utter chaos. I soon learned survival skills and to comply with anything I was told I had to do, to show I was a ‘good girl.’ It was sheer terror but fortunately for me I was often thrown into the garden where I sought solace. Something there stirred within me. I felt a warmth, a protection, the same unconditional love that I’d

felt when I’d lived with my mother and her family. The garden was full of trees, bushes and plants of all kinds and full of animals. My father had a menagerie and the garden became heaven to me. When I was locked outside in that garden I left that world of fear. For those moments I was surrounded by something palpable that reminded me of the love that I knew to be part of me. I talked to my animals as if they were my friends. Without any toys they became my replacement and the tonic that patched me up after every episode of violence. I would talk to them and tell them how I felt and how much I wanted to be free of that world. We formed a bond. From the early stages I started to pray every day. Not that I’d been shown how to pray but I seemed to know that in the quiet moments alone that I could connect with a source that was listening. It was a knowing and I felt it tangibly in that garden. That’s where I prayed the most and where I felt the safest. I prayed that I would leave the home I was in and go back to my mother, to that safe and loving world. I prayed for the violence to end and that I would survive. Even though my prayers were not directly answered, somehow I saw signs that I was being heard. I had no idea who I was praying to, but I just knew that I was being protected and that there was a guidance system there for me to navigate safely through the nightmare. I had no choice but to have faith that I would make it. Simply put, due to the extent of the violence it was what kept me alive. Something deep inside drove me to trust that one day I would be safe, that it was protecting and watching over me and was connected to something greater than who I was. Instinct guided me to trust this ‘something’ that was looking after me and would help me through. I knew it in my soul, in my heart and it kept me going, despite the daily cruelty for the entirety of that 15 years of my childhood. Looking back, I know that I was learning to trust

34

in a force greater than me which guided me to the life I have today which in turn led me to eventually mentor others to learn to trust that force. Simply put, I couldn’t possibly convince people to blindly trust this process if I hadn’t tested it to the maximum and I assure you I have. As a teenager I wasn’t aware that the negative programming that I’d learned in those early years was inevitably going to build a world based on fear, damaging relationships and even more negative and violating situations. Faith though was the only thing I could draw on to find my way through the madness. As humans, our brain function develops through different stages of our formative years until it is fully formed by around our late teens. The Delta brainwave frequency (measured in Hertz or cycles per second) is the first to develop from conception up to the age of about 4 years of age. This is when our personality has developed fully and then we’re set for the rest of our lives. Up to the age of 4 we have no analytical ability and only live in the moment, thoroughly immersing ourselves in the wonder and magic of life. We rely solely on our parents for security, nourishment and love and every cell in our body is designed from the onset, to become its best self. Now if we lived in an ideal world then we would continue to develop from that little bundle of unconditional love and go on to become successful, healthy and balanced individuals. Faith would factor in at every juncture to assure us we are making the best decisions as our programs serve us well. Faith develops as trust in our environment and the results we produce keeps reaffirming we are competent at making good decisions. From the age of 5 to 7 however, we start to develop the Theta frequency of the brain which allows us to absorb all the programs we need to help us to

grow and learn. We learn that touching the oven when it’s on is hot and can scald us and running out in the road is dangerous because cars can run us over. This is to obviously protect us. But we can also learn behaviours that do not necessarily serve us, especially if we grow up in a dysfunctional household. If for instance, we see our mother and father fighting and calling each other cruel names, then we learn (regardless of whether it’s good for us or not) a negative program regarding relationships, which in later life can attract a dysfunctional relationship with a boyfriend and start a cycle of deprivation. From then on we can have a program that runs in our mind that tells us that ‘all relationships are dysfunctional’ even though it’s not good for us. This is when faith is key to us recognising the negative patterns in our behaviour. From a young adult, it took me many years of cycles of deprivation until finally I found the answers to how I was attracting this constant bad luck. I realised in the end that luck had nothing to do with it and knew that something was trying to remind me there was something greater than me guiding me to the answers. Faith became my guide, my friend and my best ally. Source was the key to the answers I sought. I worked on myself for many years as a test dummy until I found the final pieces of the jigsaw that helped me understand how to unlock the programs and remove those dysfunctional habits and replace them with what’s already set into our DNA. But it took me 33 years of being immersed in those programs before I finally found the key to unlock them all once and for all. Faith was the dangly carrot I constantly focused on, even when the vision became blurred and it seemed like I had come to a dead end. Somehow I always found my way out of the maze, the answers I needed and the solutions to my most profoundly difficult situations. Our blueprint is kind of like our instruction manual that arrives with us when we’re born. In this manual we have our best relationships,

vocation, best skills and attributes, best health, hopes and dreams recorded. So naturally when we remove the negative programming, law of attraction replaces them with our best self. Faith is with us from birth as our guide to help us to achieve this. So you could say faith is like a friend we become to love and trust over time if we allow that relationship to flourish. Some of us are thrown into a world where we need to friend faith pretty quickly for the sake of survival. This was my route. Others find faith lurking when we’re trying to make decisions and our heart tells us to dive in, when our head screams at us we’re doing the wrong thing. The heart is connected to the right hemisphere of the brain which is connected to Source and as we humans have developed the left hemisphere more so through our education system, then we are not as trusting as we should be. However, faith is the element that fires up in us to trust our instincts. As humans we have to ascertain if we are doing this based on a negative belief or program that doesn’t serve us, or trust that this is exactly what we need and therefore take a leap of faith and dive in. Most of the clients I see overcome huge obstacles by taking that leap of faith. They generally do this as they trust the instincts which led them to me in the first place and pretty much most of the time have penned themselves into a corner that rules out all other options. I hold their hand in the initial stages to show them they have followed their instincts well and then ask them to ask faith, or their guide to decide if they should jump or not. In 94% of cases that I’ve worked with over the years I’ve found that clients tend to jump. Like me, they’d got to an impasse so had that attitude of ‘what the heck’ and did it anyway. This action however produces profound results as it not only affects the immediate problem and program but also addresses all the people that are connected to that person to create the result for the greatest good of all. This in itself gives credence to the process of ‘leap of faith’ and in that the client then continues to bravely go out into the world with a new set of programs conditioning them to trust and have

faith in future challenges in relation to that particular problem. This helps them trust to make right choices in the future when faith kicks in. This also creates a ripple effect as it gives the client the confidence to take future leaps of faith whenever other negative programs rear their ugly heads. Faith can be a slow trickle at first, but once that bond is built like a best friend, regardless of the challenges, most will go on to rely on this friend or guide to help them make the right decisions more often. I’ve worked with people overcoming addictions, entrepreneurs who’ve lost their way, marriages that have become unbearable, people in financial ruin and those who’ve contemplated suicide. I’ve worked with people facing terminal illness, depression and abuse of all kinds. Many of my clients have had historical issues from when they were children and the same principles apply. Faith is key to moving on and breaking free of that which no longer serves them. Over the years I’ve seen so many miraculous changes through clients and myself and every time this all boils down to faith being the key ingredient that allows that shift to happen. I’ve never advertised my methods as it doesn’t work that way. Every person that’s ever come to me has been through recommendation as something has spoken to them at some level and faith has guided them to me. Here I show a few examples of the many different scenarios that have taken place over the years: Elena was a 33-year-old mother of 2 when I met her in a yoga class I attended. At the time she was searching for that missing something in her life. She was open enough to understand the synchronicity of our meeting and believed that destiny had connected us for a higher purpose. Faith led her to attend my workshops and selfdevelopment classes and soon Elena found her genius potential as she accessed the tools to allow her creativity to open her world. In a very short space of time Elena’s huge spiritual awakening

36

touched every aspect of her life and she discovered her authentic self. Today she has created over 70 works of art which she’s displayed all over the world and is constantly redefining the parameters of who she is. Nolan was 41 when he came to see me. His brother had sadly died from cancer at the age of 22, 10 years before his visit. He described it to me as the most painful and life-changing event that had ever happened to him. From when his brother was first diagnosed and following the treatments, there was a strong suggestion that he would fully recover, so much so that his death came as a total shock to Nolan and his family. His death shattered Nolan’s world and caused a mixture of feelings of extreme guilt and sadness. Also, Nolan’s parents fell apart and couldn’t compute what had happened, so Nolan took control of the majority of details and had to be the strong one. This prevented him from grieving properly and the way he was feeling got stored away. It would surface from time to time and he’d have strong emotional outbursts to things that would not usually cause him upset. His world had changed from bright and sunny to dull and overcast. Over time he adapted to the negative emotions so it became the norm but he knew deep down he wanted to be happy again and remove what felt like a weight around his neck. He had different holistic treatments over the years to try and alleviate how he was feeling. They helped him feel better in the short term but the feelings of deep sadness and guilt would always return. His wife had completed a workshop with me years before the two of them got together so recommended he came to see me. He was open to the idea however he wasn’t sure it would have any effect, but faith told him otherwise. The healing I did with him however had a profound effect. Nolan described it like a cloud that was lifted from him. The depth of pain and hurt he had been holding onto for so long, disappeared.

The Guys Upstairs, How I Was Shown My Power and Voice It was proven to him, when Nolan forgot what would have been his brother’s birthday. Before, he would have felt very guilty and hard on himself about it, but at that time he didn’t feel the crippling emotional pain anymore, and he could accept it for how it was. Nolan’s work today has improved to a deeper level as he inspires others as a personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach mentoring others to become their best selves. Joanna became a client of mine at 28 years of age, she explained it as being one of the most profound and touching experiences of her life. When she first visited me, Joanna had been journeying through one of the darkest and most challenging periods of her life. She’d been in an immensely painful place for many years, carrying unresolved childhood traumas and fears surrounding her relationship with her father and as a result, men. Her life felt empty in all areas including her work. She felt she was literally dying as her body started to shut down and it looked like she may end up wheelchair bound. After visiting seven specialist doctors, having brain scans, up to 9 injections in her neck and diagnosed with all sorts of terms

and labels, in desperation she resorted to a holistic energy healing session and noticed something life changing begin to take place. Even though the results were bringing about remarkable healing of her physical body, she still experienced endless nightmares, day and night as well as anxiety attacks. She started to meditate and spend time in nature and that’s when she began to experience synchronicities which couldn’t be explained with the rational mind. Faith was guiding her to the solutions and people she needed to help her find her way to be healed and release her from her constant pain. Joanna finally found a job after 2 years but was still attracting destructive relationships which were getting worse. She started to recognise though she was looking for love in all the wrong places, having never taken the time to start rebuilding from within herself. The final straw came as she felt pressure at home from family and friends to leave her last destructive relationship for the sake of her health and wellbeing. That’s when Joanna came into my life through a series of synchronistic events.

Joanna came to me through faith alone without any expectations considering her years of pain and all the treatments and therapies she’d tried. What took place then changed and shifted her life rapidly. I worked with helping Joanna to shift the negative programs which no longer served her and helped her tap into her fullest potential in life. Each session felt like an eraser wiping out the old inside and bringing forth new and productive patterns. The shifts were fast and powerful, aligning Joanna strongly with her power and her inner voice so she gained clarity and understanding of her life’s path and purpose. Joanna finally found the peace she’d always searched for, better relationships in all ways, a deeper connection to who she is and today shares her love of writing through which she offers profound messages of healing and support to others. Vass came to see me with his mother when he was 8 years old. On that first occasion it was apparent to me that he was a shy boy and came across as very withdrawn. He was a keen footballer and had been playing for his local team, Barnet, however he’d lost his confidence to play and had become so unwell his mother was finding it hard to even get him to go to school. I soon became aware of his deep passion for football and visualised that he had an outstanding ability. His sickness and withdrawal from life had come about when a Tottenham Hotspur scout had told him at some trials that Vass would never amount to anything as he was no good at skills. That comment shattered Vass’s world and he lost his ability to communicate on all levels. His family felt that was the end of his potential. Within a few sessions with me it was clear that Vass had found he’d detached from the emotional pain that had been caused by the Scout’s comment. Vass attended one of my workshops designed for children which reinforced his belief in his ability and helped him discover his power once more.

38

During his primary and secondary school years he became a strong confident leader, winning constant recognition for his exceptional football skills at his football club and became a mentor to his school and football friends alike. Today Vass at the age of 16, has qualified into the top A group at the specialist Watford Football Club Academy where he’ll not only develop his skills more so but take his A Levels which his parents feared he may never get to. Vass is very clear on his path and knows that he will be observed by scouts whilst he’s at Watford. This time though, he knows he has the chance to achieve his highest dreams, to play for a premier football club when he’s ready. Over the years I’ve seen so many incredible shifts in people, profound life changes and resolution to the most incredibly complex challenges and in each situation I’ve always seen that it affects the greater good of all. Faith is something that is woven into our core and is linked to our blueprint. It is our best friend and closest companion, reminding us constantly of the way forward in any given situation. When we look at nature and its very definition, it’s blueprint is perfect. You won’t find an Oak tree complaining that the daffodils are growing around its base. Everything in nature works in complete harmony. It works with dualities. When there’s a forest fire it devastates the area and burns through the beautiful trees and vegetation however it creates rich mineral soil with which to create new life. The plant, animal and human kingdom are designed pretty much in the same way that when we address negativity, we have the opportunity to create something positive in its place. In the plant kingdom, the law of attraction naturally allows this process to take affect perfectly. It’s the same for the animal kingdom too, however it is only because of human intervention that both kingdoms are out of balance.

The human kingdom is the superior kingdom as we have minds that think and emotions that feel. To separate us from the other two kingdoms, we have free will which allows us to make decisions based on how we feel and then, how our programs react to that feeling. If we have programs that are negative, we make bad decisions but if we have positive programs we make good decisions. As human beings we have faith to be our constant, our guide, our best friend and the glue that puts it all together. In any given moment we are constantly making decisions. Considering humans make on average around 35,000 decisions a day, our success is all based on whether we are programmed to make the right or wrong decisions. Simply put, we have choice constantly and we choose our destiny based on the limitations of our programs. I teach in my classes that there are 3 crucial ingredients to help us monitor, create awareness, take action to overcome and maintain balance and harmony in our life. We need worthiness first. Without worthiness, that guilt, hatred, jealousy, greed and so on will block any chance we have to honour who we are, so we need to identify this early on to overcome this. Faith directs which choice we make to take the right path and right action, regardless of how scary it feels but ultimately if we are working with awareness, are connected to our higher self and honouring self-development then faith will take us directly where we need to go. The action stage is the third part and that is honouring that path. So in all the 46 of my 49 years of testing the boundaries and limitations of the human condition as far as faith is concerned, I can unequivocally confirm that if it wasn’t for faith I wouldn’t be here today. If it wasn’t for faith I wouldn’t have learned to push the parameters of the human condition to the most extreme and when push came to shove, even when faith tested me, I did it anyway. I knew in my heart that I’d found the formula and that my best friend and guide would never let me down, nor the process I call life which today helps me mentor the many who are dipping their toes into the ocean of self-exploration.

Faith is the glue, worthiness is acceptance and right action honours the process. This helps us to accept the process that is there for each and every one of us, just like the force of gravity. It just is. Every day of my life I tune into my friend faith, for my guidance to Source. Every one of us has faith assigned to us in our blueprint. Making time to work on that friendship is the commitment we need to honour and activate the most profoundly magical energy that will serve us no matter what throughout our lives. If you haven’t yet tested the boundaries of faith, then you still haven’t pushed the parameters of who you are. Sensual Strokes... Caresses on Canvas... Honouring The Divine Feminine by Artist Elena Chambou

Elena’s story I grew up in a traditional Greek family. As with all Mediterraneans there’s always a pre-planned agenda for any daughter. Once married and with children of their own, the daughter can work from home and juggle being a house wife, mother, lover and provider for everyone. When I told my mother at the age of 13 years old I was going to be an Artist she looked at me and said “That’s not a job for a girl - no good, no money!” I looked at her astonished and said “Then how can I express my creation? What do I do with all this passion, this wisdom and knowledge that burns inside of me?” It was unknown to me where it was coming from but I couldn’t wait to express it. She said “Ah…then you must become a hairdresser!” I was in despair as a hairdresser was nowhere near becoming an artist. My mother encouraged me to train at the school of Vidal Sassoon as all great hairdressers who trained there could work anywhere in the world and I could still work this around my family life. It seemed a reasonable compromise. I thoroughly embraced the hairdressing world and was flying high after my training. I was fortunate enough to get work for television and films working with celebrities and models, earning a high salary and travelling the world. You would think I would be content and bursting with happiness, but no, voices in my head were constantly saying ‘there’s more .... time is ticking .... find your truth, what you came here to do’ ....

41

It was in my twenties after my first daughter that something occurred, maybe a chemical reaction, or a calling. I never knew what the longing was, the emptiness, the feeling of time running out. I had so much to achieve, to learn and to experience. I had so many questions but also felt deep unhappiness. In my life I have always followed my heart if something has felt right at the time, then I have honoured that feeling. Sometimes it has got me hurt and brought me to my knees with despair and anguish and other times it has opened doors after doors, new opportunity’s have come flooding my way. I have always trusted my Intuition. Even though I had it all materialistically I still felt lost. I felt I hadn’t found my vocation or purpose. It seemed I was searching in all the wrong places. During that process I got hurt and so did my loved ones, because I just couldn’t settle. Finally, after years of searching I had enough of feeling lost and decided to take up yoga as all my other options had failed to bring me any fulfilment. I thought I would try something different as I was always living in the fast lane. It was at that point for the first time in my life I felt connected to something, to Source and a world I had been searching for and knew existed. There I met my first teacher Amanda Hart. She was an inspiration, enlightening me and giving me the knowledge and tools to activate my fullest potential, to understand so much more than I thought could be possible. Soon to follow was an incredible beacon of light a yoga Master called David Sye, his words of wisdom and knowledge about life and who we are still remain deep within my heart and soul, always guiding me to be my authentic true self. There was one angel after another walking into my life just at the right time to help me with my spiritual journey. I could feel my world changing irreversibly all for the highest good. I had finally awoken and it was shown to me that our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens. It is not what life brings to us, but the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results. It is only with love and compassion we can truly surrender to our path . Something astonishing then took place during a meditation I had. It was a vision of a blue Goddess. She took my hand and lead me into the spirt world and I felt like the whole Universe had wrapped its arms around me and I had never felt love like that before. After this profound experience I decided to paint the Goddess as she was so powerful. A creative urge for art had woken in me and from that moment onwards I painted one creation after another.

42

I was channeling ancient symbolism, ancient wisdom and was honouring the Divine Feminine by painting beautiful Goddesses. After a year of painting, I was offered my first exhibition in Space Gallery in Old Street, London. I can’t tell you the joy this brought to my heart as at last I felt like an appreciated artist. My children were in awe of their crazy but very loving mummy. Looking at my art they could see their mummy’s depths and start to understand who I truly was, not just a mother but also a creator and individual. I do believe until this day both the girls have been influenced to excel in their own creativity through writing and artistic expression. This makes me so proud to witness. After a couple of years of painting, I continued on my spiritual quest, travelling to India and many other spiritual destinations, experiencing the most profound and extraordinary events. I trained to a master level in Reiki, Indian Head Massage and cleansing of the light body and Hot Stones Massage. I was evolving with my healing practice, learning from master after master, building my own thoughts and ideas, discovering what worked for me and what didn’t. It was a long 10 year process, not without its drawbacks. Sadly, I drifted apart from my husband. We were on two different paths and divorced amicably, finding separate homes to raise our children in the best way possible. I moved to a very unique area near Forty Hall, which suited my new found life style and and moved into a sweet little cottage with the most amazing energy and space for us all to flourish . I have been fortunate in the last five years to have shown my paintings in some wonderful venues to be appreciated by all, I must say in 2015 I had a wonderful exhibition in the Black Barn of Forty Hall which was magical. You can see from the photos (on page 4) the ambiance and space really suited my paintings. Today I live the life I was meant to enjoy, combining all the wonderful things I love to do. My hairstyling doesn’t make me feel oppressed any more, instead I see it as a wonderful social platform to interact with my lovely clients who teach me so much, we share so many inspirations in one appointment; laughter, joy, sometimes sorrow and sadness. This is where all my spiritual work can help to relieve some pain for my clients, they also have the option of healing treatments to go along with their well-being . I am now with a partner that completes my soul and spirit, he inspires me every day. He was my cosmic ordering, and came to me - just how I painted him, through every stroke and intention I put into that canvas. He is my Persian Prince who ignites my passion to paint. I am truly blessed to have the ability to create my world from source and humble enough to be grateful for every treasured moment.

Why I paint...

I paint to hear my voice because there are places creatively through my art that I can’t always g

I paint to let the light into my being and th the rhythms of my cycles, journeying into through time and space entwined w 46

of honesty and beauty that I go to when I express go to in my life. It’s like it allows me to breathe.

he darkness out, to own myself, capturing o the abyss to travel through glory. I travel with the magic the Universe beholds.

I paint to allow myself to feel, climbing inside my emotions and exploring their influences and textures, summoning my tears to let them wash me hot and clean, then drain me empty and free. 48

I paint myself alive and reborn, whole and holy, to experience myself transformed.

I paint because I hurt and because I love, because I have been through many trials and tribulations, so I won’t lose anything.

50

I paint because I am sensual and spiritual and need to make contact with the Divine. Painting for me is like touching. It is rubbing and rolling my body against the divine until my boundaries dissolve and I no longer know where I begin and the canvass ends.

I become part of the Universe and paint to become eternal, to leave a piece of me stained into the ethers, and so my children and grandchildren will have a piece of my energy when I go back home, when I am gone.

52

I paint because it’s a gift from God and so I honour this special Divine gift, as it’s a part of my life and I am in full gratitude and thank every day . 54

Amanda, a mum of 3 discovered she was very different to other children during her childhood. This in itself helped her to survive a dire upbringing when taken from her mother by her father. She was invisible behind the veil of a middle class family hiding a very dark secret. Amanda learned survival from the age of 4 but equally she discovered a ‘presence,’ her angels, which helped her survive the 15 years of physical, mental and emotional hell she suffered. After leaving home as a young adult she felt the world would become an adventure however her ‘programs’ learned from childhood attracted even more dire predicaments to torture her more so. Eventually when her world came crashing in, she gave in and asked her angels for guidance and that’s when they led her to discover the secret behind the programs she’d attracted. Amanda had a full blown epiphany from a near death experience when she contracted Meningococcal Septicaemia. She was shown the reason why she’d gone through so much hardship and why she’d had the reoccurring dreams since she was 3. It was the push she needed to discover her own exceptional abilities to help others. This, at long last was her saving grace. Through years of study, research and meeting people who recognised her gifts she finally found the key that helps unlock the negative programs that have held so many back from achieving their full potential. Amanda was eventually nominated to go on ‘Britain’s Psychic Challenge’ hosted by Trisha Goddard to find the top psychics in the country, which was on Channel 5 in 2005/2006. She was then asked to present her own radio show, The Soul Searching Show on My Spirit Radio, writing all her own material and interviewing experts in the Mind, Body and Spirit Field. Her passion for writing led her to then become an expert for Soul & Spirit Magazine writing the Soul Solutions page, giving tips and advice on soul evolution. It was whilst at My Spirit Radio she was asked to write her memoirs by her then agent, because of her extraordinary life experiences. 5 years later, Amanda finally succumbed when a secondary condition from the Meningitis stopped her in her tracks from working and she finally resigned herself to sitting down and writing her book. Her memoirs are a remarkable account of how against all odds she found the key to unlock us all from our negative programs and how we have the power within us to do that. Amanda’s life is now dedicated to taking her work out globally to help victims of abuse, past and present. Whether it be in families, institutions, the workplace or behind closed doors of any description, her ability to help others to heal goes beyond logic and is the core of her work to enable people to empower themselves. Through mentorship and support, Amanda’s work helps pave the way through all that inhibits people, to move on with greater independence, courage and certainty to achieve all that their hearts desire. She certainly walks her talk as she lives as if every day is her last and dreams as if she’ll live forever. Amanda’s inspiration has touched the hearts of everyone she meets and is her life’s work to achieve that. www.thesoulsearchingcentre.com

“The Guys Upstairs – how I found my power and voice” There is nothing worse than being a child in a home where violence and hatred are rife and no-one will listen. It’s all the more remarkable then that Amanda Hart survived such harrowing beginnings to arrive at a point in life where she could write The Guys Upstairs. This book charts the life of Amanda Hart from childhood to middle age, a life which saw her stumble from one unbearable relationship to another as she strived to maintain custody of her children and make sense of a world where trust was in short supply. To get through she puts her faith in ‘The Guys Upstairs’, angels who at times can be frustrating in their messages but who in the end always deliver. The Guys Upstairs is an absorbing book on surviving relationships and finding your power and voice to live your destiny.

The Guys Upstairs Campaign Amanda is working with Kat Byles, PR Consultant, ex Global Communications Director, Homeless World Cup, (www.katbyles.com) who is helping her to build a campaign to reach a wide audience to raise awareness, backed by an inspiring campaign inviting people to find their power and voice and live their destiny. “The Guys Upstairs, How I was shown my power and voice” was released on 30th November 2015. My memoirs are part of a nationwide campaign to help introduce a solutions-based approach to helping sufferers of abuse and address the wider societal issues of how abuse needs to be dealt with by society. This all coincided with the changes in the law on coercive control that came into force on 29th December 2015. theguysupstairs98@gmail.com

Interview with the A I met Geoff Bell for a chat and a coffee, always a great combination. He has such wonderful energy and a passion for his book and also the mission that The Spirit World have gifted him with. I only had an hour to spare but could have quite happily stayed all afternoon listening to Geoff talk about his life’s journey and adventures that led to the manifestation of his wonderful book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book myself and it has certainly raised my curiosity on a number of topics that I intend to investigate further. What was your inspiration to write your book Utterings of a Light Worker? The Spirit World has been wanting to get closer to the human race for eternity in the past, try to work with us now and hope to be with us for the foreseeable future. Through the millennia the Spirit World has tried to guide, inspire and help us to re-learn what we forget when we are born into physical life here on Earth. I have an amateur scientific mind and highly analytical thought process. Everything I see, taste, smell, touch and hear is real and exists because my brain, body and mind tells me so. But what about something we cannot ‘see’ with our five senses? The question I had then was “How do I share all this knowledge and experience in a way that makes sense to people who know nothing of what I know?” In my thirst for more knowledge and understanding, I sat back in my arm chair one evening and asked the spirit world – my ‘helpers’ if you like – “What now?” I awoke first thing in

64

uthor - Geoff Bell my bed the following morning with the title of the book clearly in my head. I then thought “Ok, I need to look for a book called “Utterings of a Light Worker” and give it a good read. How wrong I was. I was quickly and forcefully corrected, almost before I had finished this thought. “No, YOU are going to write this book!” came the demanding answer. “Oh my goodness, how do I begin, where do I begin?” was my next question. The answer? There wasn’t one. And so began a year of sitting in front of my computer screen, frantically creating the story of my adventures and experiences to date and using them to shed light on a subject that is disregarded and not believed in by many. Desperately trying to make sense of my experiences and knowledge whilst trying to present it all in a readable and understandable form to those who know nothing about the Spirit World, me or of what I know. The quest to bring a scientific and very much downto-earth approach to a world full of superficial existence, questions and intrigue I call The Spirit World was set. The task enormous and highly challenging. A task I most certainly rose to but could not by any means do without the constant and persistent help and guidance of The Spirit World; I literally could not have done this without them as Utterings of a Light Worker is their book. It is written by me certainly, but they have guided me to write their knowledge after showing me so much. After all, I had no choice seeing as I have been ‘rescued’ by The Spirit World on many occasions and have seen, done and learned things that I could not even have imagined. I had to return the favour and ask the spirit world to use me to write ‘Utterings of a Light Worker’

two is created by the spirit world using their energy to create something called ectoplasm. It is this ‘substance’ that is manipulated to produce phenomena like table tipping. The newer version of this type of mediumship uses both the energy from the spirit world and the human energy from those in attendance to create the same or similar phenomena.

You attended a ‘Spiritual Awareness’ course when you were beginning your journey, could you tell our readers where and with who this was? This spiritual awareness course was introduced to me by a friend of mine by chance; if you believe in chance events and circumstances, that is. It was run by a lady named Sonia Driscoll who runs The Spiritual Development School in the town of Watton in the UK. Please see the web site http:// www.thespiritualdevelopmentschool.co.uk/ for more information. For years prior to this, I’d been practicing and exploring a number of things and ideas. This course enabled me to re-visit things I had come across years ago but had done nothing with. ‘Table tipping’ - how does this work, is it the groups concentrated energy that causes the effects? Table tipping is amazing. It is a very small example of something that I am totally fascinated about. When I first came across this, I was my usual highly sceptical self, which very quickly and dramatically changed. This is difficult to explain easily, but as far as I am aware, there are two types of physical mediumship of which table tipping is a part. The older of the

66

Both types of physical mediumship rely upon one medium to ‘do the donkey work’, so to speak. To be the conduit through which everything happens. Everybody else in attendance simply adds further mental intention, a sense of ‘allowing’ and human energy to the surroundings. This sense of allowing is all about letting go of preconceived ideas or expectations and just allowing things to happen, or not, without being startled or surprised at what may happen. Do our thoughts create our reality? Oh yes. Very much so. Everything we do begins with a thought, an ambition, an idea; a want or a need. It is first thought, followed by a series of actions that creates our realities. We are not at the mercy, if you like, of forces or beings outside of our control. We are only given choices or opportunities to explore and create our worlds, our realities. The trick is to see the opportunities behind the challenges we are presented with. To not get too bogged down or caught up in those challenges – and therefore reinforcing them, making them worse or repetitive. Not only is the thought itself important but human emotion is too. As much human emotion as you can muster. To create your reality, you first have to believe without any doubt at all that it is already there, already in existence. Not physically, but in your mind. Within the bounds of practical reality you also have to emotionally live as though what you want is already part of your life. To visualise your feelings and emotions as though what you are striving for is already with you. And don’t forget to include every little detail too. For they add meat to the bones of your envisioning. This is how your thoughts create you reality.

How can we take back our personal power regarding illness and healing? First get to know all that you can about whatever ails you or those around you, this way you begin to ‘know’ the ailment or dis-ease. You begin to ‘know’ the root ‘cause’ of the ailment. Realising this means that you can then begin to cure the ailment in question. Then it is time to research what the established medical fraternity knows of this ailment and the ways it uses to cure it. Having done your homework and ensured that you are following a diet conducive to giving your body the best possible chance of recovery, including relying on any herbal and alternative methods that you feel comfortable with, it is then time to begin the healing journey . Concentrate your body’s natural healing processes with the use of your mind, intention and emotions, visualise yourself, as though you are already healed and following the lifestyle you wish to in that healed state. You said that through your Spiritual development you have changed, what are the benefits of development? I have changed considerably over the past nine years, purely because of learning all I can about the spirit world. The following points try to shed some light on the changes that could happen within and around one’s personal self. All these changes are of course for the betterment of not only yourself but also for the betterment of every thing and every being around you; and to encourage better actions and desires. • Being more empowered, confident, constructive and helpful to yourself and others. • Being more loving and lovable. • Wanting the best for ALL life in all forms. • More peaceful, tolerant, calmer and accepting. • Changing familiar or conditioned thinking, friends or social environments. • Changing employment or work environments. • Being more open-minded. • Changing patterns of thinking and action.

I also have to say that I have become far more healthier in mind and spirit. I have far better and clearer thoughts and desires towards working for the highest good of all in creation, and not just for the good of myself only. What benefits has your development brought into your life? I am far more confident, happier and empowered knowing that whatever I need to be or do for the betterment of all that is around me, including for myself, will happen whenever it is appropriate. If I have a challenge that I cannot solve, all I have to do is mentally ask The Spirit World for an answer and 99 out of 100 times the answer is ‘shown’ to me instantly or within minutes. Sometimes, the answer will ‘appear’ when I first wake up the next day. Occasionally, I am given clues to an answer and I have to work the rest out myself. Quite often, before I have even finished asking the question, the solution is provided. I am also teased and made to laugh at myself quite a lot too. I am a hard task-master and have demanded an awful lot of proof from The Spirit World purely for the sake of wanting to believe with conviction. The Spirit World have often, and still do, get their own back on me, and this humours side of them makes it great fun to work with them too. Sitting Quietly - can be difficult at first, would you recommend meditation, maybe a guided one to begin with? Yes, it is difficult to sit quietly if you are not used to doing it when you first start. I am one of those people who cannot sit still without becoming bored or distracted so, for me, when I first started, this was especially difficult. Sitting Quietly involves completely and utterly shutting out the entire world around you, something that every thing is not good at because it seems unnatural. However, as you get used to it, it becomes normal to you.

So a guided meditation or listening to your favourite music is a good way of shifting your consciousness, which is what you are trying to do when you are trying to sit quietly. You are trying to shift your consciousness to blend with the consciousness of The Spirit World. This consciousness shifting, when you have got it right, is very much like being in daydreaming mode. You are aware that things and events are going on around you, but you are not consciously aware of them or concentrating on them. It is this state of blank, open mindedness that you are aiming to achieve. With practice it will also become, sometimes, frighteningly or rather amusingly, automatic too. So meditation, however it feels right for you, is a very good starting point. In time you may find that you won’t need it. In the chapter PSYCHIC READING’ you state that “Fortune telling is impossible” - is it not possible to see future events/outcomes from a psychic reading? People have great misunderstanding when it comes to psychic reading, commonly called fortune telling. This misunderstanding is mainly due to the press in all of its forms, particularly TV, books and films. A psychic reader is able to detect a possible outcome to a set of circumstances based upon what has been highlighted so far. It is possible to ‘read a set of cards’ and notice a pattern of events occurring which, if continued, is most likely to produce a particular outcome. As a result I always say when doing a reading, that future events are ALWAYS in the control of the person receiving the reading and it is therefore ALWAYS impossible to fortune tell. The reason I say this is that what a person does or what happens to the person once the reading has finished is completely and utterly out of the control of the reader, the cards, or whatever tool is used, or indeed The Spirit World. This is the meaning of personal choice.

68

As a Tarot card reader all we can definitely do is ‘see’ a set of events that have occurred up to and including the present moment and inform the sitter of the most likely outcome from here on in. A reader will see the most likely outcome of a set of actions or circumstances if the current trends continue. Ultimately, the person asking for the reading has choice and so has complete control over their own future or destiny. This is what I mean when I say that it is absolutely impossible to fortune tell or predict the future of anyone. The only thing that any reader may be able to do is to see a set of circumstance in one’s life up to the present time and then to postulate (guess), with the help of the spirit world, on the most logical or expected outcome based upon the set of circumstances highlighted so far. This is the best that any reader can ever do. How is it possible to read the Aura? Everybody and everything has an energy field. By tuning into this field we begin to decide whether we like something or some person or not. This is where the feeling of instant like or dis-like comes from. Aura reading is a version of psychic reading. I use ‘tools’ (Tarot cards etc.) as a way of keeping my physical and fully conscious mind occupied whilst my sub-conscious mind or Etheric mind concentrates on ‘reading’ a person’s energy field, the Aura. Some people are lucky in that they can actually see the aura; I cannot. They can then interpret the colours they see in a way that makes sense to the person being read for. However I can pick up and notice energy imprints about somebody’s life and circumstances in their auras. For me it is like feeling whether a person is happy, concerned, angry, inquisitive, etc. I use tarot cards and simply ‘read and interpret the energy.’ The ‘Mediumship’ course you mentioned in the book - can you give our readers the details?

I have been and still am involved with a number of mediumship courses and circles. These ranged from Spirit mediumship, Trance mediumship and Trance healing introduction to Physical Mediumship. I am currently only involved with a Trance Circle run by Sonia Driscoll of the Spiritual Development School in Watton. I am hoping to be involved in a Physical mediumship circle at some point soon and will be exploring Trance healing with the Arthur Findlay College at Stanstead UK next year. You said you perceive spirit Clairsentiently, is this solely Clairsentiently or do you also receive information Clairvoyantly and Clairaudiently at times too? Clairsentience is by far my strongest, most adaptable and best way that I work. I am fascinated by energy in all of its forms anyhow, so by working with clairsentience is easier and more natural for me than by working any other way. I do not see or hear anything that is subtly present when working with The Spirit World, unless what is there is absolutely obvious and ‘in your face’, so to speak. This is why I have chosen not to work with Clairaudience or Clairvoyance. I have also picked up smells when working in the past too, but this has been very rare for me. Where would you recommend our readers to begin if they wish to begin Spiritual development themselves? Forgive me but I have to say that anybody wishing to explore the world of Spirit for themselves would indeed be well advised to buy ‘Utterings of a Light Worker’ first and have a very good and quite entertaining read. Obviously I am biased, but what I say is indeed very true. A lot of people have told me that they have learned much by reading my book and have also been very much helped. If you care to have a look at the Utterings of a Light Worker web site, you will also find a number of short articles, written by both me and The Spirit World, that help to bring further understanding to a number of mind and experience broadening questions that most

people do not necessarily think about in everyday life. I very much hope that they will enhance the understanding that is given in the book. I also hope that you contribute your understanding of the subjects covered onto the site in order to help others who very frequently visit the site from all over the world. Look for publications dealing with subjects concerning the spiritual development area that you wish to pursue. There are several publications on the market these days and there are usually advertisements in them offering some form of training. Be discerning in your choice of teacher, a personal recommendation is always a good start. Be assured that whatever development is right for you, The Spirit World will give you the best circumstances and coincidences you will need to progress. Finally, I must ask one thing please? Enjoy your life to its fullest extent whilst learning and experiencing all that you can. Share much peace, love, knowledge and wisdom to all whom you come across. Always be happy and helpful to yourself and to others. Always see the opportunity hidden behind every adversity. Be well and happy my friend, be well and happy. s RHINO AND CO With hard-hair-horn, upon ancient head so noble, Sadly, to save the old rhino, must now go global, I find it so unjust, unfair & so very preposterous, That we have to save our friend, the old rhinoceros. For the world´s misguided idea that the man´s erection, Delivers more, with horn´s powdered potion & injection, Sadly, Homo erectus still has so much to listen & learn, And until he does, the human being, I´ll deem to spurn. The same goes for all those, that for our needs, we do use, Fur, hide, feather, skin, claw, paw, all that we now do abuse, In this sorry vain there can be no hope, for us men on earth, Till we leave alone, all those creatures who have been birthed. Used for medicines, sexual potions, beauty & eternal drugs, All God´s creatures, within the families of beast, bird & bugs, Maybe if man´s private parts, to beasts, were far more tasty, He´d respect the beast & before killing, he´d be far less hasty. Wild Whisperings aphrodisiac. These animals are being hunted down and slaughtered mercilessly; often their horns are hacked off their heads while they are still alive. Many of the females have babies that are left abandoned, afraid, confused and without food with their mothers dead. MY INSPIRATION: I am half Welsh and half English, born in England and raised in Africa. I was about two years old when my parents went out to Africa. My father worked for the British Government and we were sent out to Bechuanaland Protectorate (now Botswana). It was the era of Colonialism before independence. I lived a life that seems like a dream today in an Africa that was still so natural among wild animals, black magic, the Bushman tribes, beautiful people in an untouched and natural environment, without electricity, running water and tourists. It was the original Garden of Eden and I feel blessed to have lived it. My story in Africa is told in my book “Lollipops Of Dust”. Poaching is rife in Africa. We have heard about it with the elephants and there has been a big movement to stop the ivory trade but unfortunately it is still going on, but due to world awareness now it is being watched. Rhinos too are having a very hard time at the moment due to the mistaken idea that their horns are an

Funds are needed to support the rangers who are risking life and limb to protect these animals in their natural habitat, to fund the training of dogs that are used with the rangers, to transport these animals to safer areas and often to operate on the damaged animals that they do manage to save. I know my book is a drop in the ocean, but I am dedicating all my share of the royalties to “Save The Rhino International” fund as they are doing such a good job. I have had a lot of feed back over the years on my animal poetry, so I decided to write a book only on an animal theme and dedicate it to the animals in Africa. When I was a child I ran wild with the animals of Africa and they gave me friendships that human beings can never compare to. My book “Wild Whisperings” is my small way to give back to a continent, for the gift of the childhood it gave me and the person that I am today. I do not have a favourite poem in my book, as I feel that

every piece has their own specific message. I have tried to include a wide variety of animals from earth, air and water, animals wild and tame. This book is about all animals, their births deaths, struggles and their spirituality, hopefully we can learn from them some day.

My favourite poem is still to be written and that will be the day when mankind becomes enlightened and realizes that we are not superior beings, we too are animals and have to learn to respect all life forms. I would merely like people to enjoy the poetry, to support a good cause and hopefully to find a nugget of hope, however small, that we are all one and the same, and together we can, and must protect these wonderful creatures.

DEDICATION: I dedicate my book to all the animals on our planet and the people who care for them. Animals feel as we do, suffer as we do and have rights upon this earth as we do. Yet they suffer at the hands of human beings, supposedly the superior species. They have no voice to tell us of their suffering and therefore are so vulnerable. Any funds that are generated by the sale of this book will go towards the work of saving the rhino who are being butchered while still alive for their horn, which is wrongly considered an aphrodisiac. May we be gentler and kinder to all species of animals, however big or small, wherever they are. “Love and blessings to all those who live Above, within and below the skies, Above, within and below all waters, Above, within and below the earth. So be it.”

All proceeds from the sale of Wild Whisperings goes to the “Save the Rhino International Fund.” Website

Breathing, Writing & Bach Flower Remedies

Breathing, Wr

3 Natural steps When you find yourself in a place of weariness and your spark seems to have gone out, try taking ten minutes out of your busy life. Take ten minutes to sit and write down how you are feeling. Writing things down can bring a sense of lightness and relief. It is so simple yet very effective. It does not mean the problem has gone away; it just helps you to feel lighter in yourself. I would compare writing your thoughts and feelings down to sharing the load with a trusted friend. Sometimes you don’t need someone to give you the answers, just to listen, and to allow you the space to share what is troubling you. I know when I take the time out to write my Guides and friends in the spirit world are listening to my worries and they may show me a sign, an alternative way of dealing with my situation. Energetically writing can help you feel a sense of relief, and when you see the problem in black and white in front of you it can bring a new perspective on the situation. The new perspective doesn’t always come straight away, but know that your guides are working behind the scenes when you leave it in their hands and trust. When you have decided to detach from the problems, solutions seem to come to you when you are least expecting them. Often I would write down my thoughts and how I felt when I couldn’t sleep – today is one of those days! Then when I read through my writing the next day. It never ceases to amaze me how calmer I

s to help you on the road to recovery Vervain supports you when you feel fanatical about something and cannot switch off, mentally or physically. It helps you bring back balance, and a knowing of when to push forward and when to stop. Chestnut Bud helps you to learn from your mistakes and experiences, and use that wisdom to create new patterns. There are 38 different Bach Remedies which can be used to create a personal remedy specifically for you, these will help you to understand how the remedies will support you. The Bach Remedies are a natural and gentle way to release stresses and traumas from your precious body, bring you a renewed sense of peace and endurance, and can be used by anyone at any time. They are also readily available in health stores and larger supermarkets if you want to experience the calm that they can offer you. Another simple method of clearing your mind is to bring your attention to your breathe. You can do this exercise anywhere, when you may find yourself feeling stressed or unable to focus. Feel your breath coming in and out of your body, take a few gentle breaths, and then take a deep breath in and as you breathe out imagine all of the stresses being blown away. Keep repeating this until your feel the sense of calm return. When you come back to what you were worrying about you will have more clarity and see things in a

new perspective. Maybe it is time for you to cut the cords which bind you to the problem and situations you feel stuck in. Have you asked your guides to help you claim back all the fragments of your soul? Archangel Michael can help you to do this, by simply asking. Claiming back your soul fragments can be done at any time. You don’t have to wait until you are in a crisis. It can help you to feel whole and recharged again. Often we become problem orientated instead of solution focused. Try to make it a priority to take a little time out of your busy life each day to find more clarity and peace of mind. In a short time you can turn your life around, feel more energetic, enthusiastic and regain a new sense of purpose. Dawn Chrystal Website / Facebook

Card 1 - ARTEMIS “You and your loved ones are safe and spiritually protected.”

Various meanings of this card: The angels are watching over you and your family. Your future is safe and secure. All your needs are being met and always will be. The worst is now behind you. Card 2 - MAEVE “Honor the cycles of your body, energy levels, and emotions.”

Message from Artemis: “Like me, you have a sacred mission to spread love and light. Yet, this isn’t a position that comes from tension or worry. Instead, the gentle essence of a joyful heart and lighthearted laughter sets your power in motion. Why would there be any tension in your mind or system unless you believed that you are somehow unsafe? And how could you be unsafe when you’ve called upon the spiritual warriors to watch over you? Your prayers have activated the flawless protection of Heaven. So, ease your mind of all cares and concerns, and concentrate instead upon your holy mission.”

Message from Maeve: All of life is cyclical: the moon, the stars, and the very universe. Life inhales and then exhales again. So why should you be surprised or upset that you too have cycles? There are times when you feel energized, awake, and alive. There are other times when you feel isolated

and shy. Your body, too, goes through pronounced cycles and changes. Celebrate these rhythms, and embrace them as the essence of the lifeblood that courses through you!” Various meanings of this card: Female gynecological changes (starting menses or menopause, for example) are an issue for you. Make time to rest. Initiate time to alleviate depression or lethargy. Take better care of your body. Seek support for dealing with emotional crises. Allow yourself to grieve or take time off. Know that this lull won’t last forever. A doorway of opportunity has opened up, and you need to walk through it now. Card 3 - CORDELIA “You have been indoors too long. Go outside and get some fresh air.”

Message from Cordelia: Being cooped up is not the natural way for inhabitants of this exciting planet to live. Believe me, there’s plenty to see and experience when you exit your four walls and roof. A daily venture outside will not only revive your spirit and soul, it will give you hope and faith in the planet’s very existence and future. You’ll see all of the goodness that’s in store within nature: the flowers ready to unfurl, the leaves that are sprouting, the birds that hop about, and even the wind that affectionately caresses you. Don’t let another day go by without stepping outdoors into the most entertaining and exciting of environments!” Various meanings of this card: Your manifestation will appear in May and/or when the weather is warmer. Spend time in nature. Change to a job that allows for more connection with nature. Practice environmentalism. Recognize the need for balance in your life - for more rest and play.
