Congress SA
In keeping with the Isaiah 43:19 verse, if anyone knows how to ‘make a way in the wilderness’ it is Congress SA’s Frontier Services Bush Chaplain, Pastor Julia Lennon. Julia is based at Oodnadatta in the State’s far north, over 700 kilometres from Port Augusta.
Raukkan Faith Community oversee our Murraylands ministry including the use of the Tailem Bend church. Thanks to the support of Uniting Foundation, Raukkan Faith Community was blessed to be able to employ a part-time youth worker, Shawnee Weetra who commenced in December 2019.
Congress has also been supported by the employment of Chelsea Size as Training and Formation Coordinator. We are excited that Chelsea has been able to help some Congress leaders begin their studies at Uniting College.
Adelaide Congress has been pleased to be able to employ their first Anangu pastoral worker this year. Pastor Melissa Thompson is able to speak the language, and so is a great blessing for the Anangu congregation based at Salisbury, under the leadership of Rev Dean Whittaker.
Port Augusta led the way with Congress worship in SA by Zoom in the early months of COVID. They also led worship for Some new things we are looking forward to in 2021, include a new part-time Finance and Administration Officer in the an Assembly Facebook service, in which the Interim Congress office at Yarthu Apinthi (Uniting College); National Congress Chair Rev Mark Kickett preached development and approval of plans for the new and Dusty Feet Mob danced. Congress church at Oodnadatta; and new opportunities for the training of our youth and young adults.
