United Way’s Board of Directors approved a new Strategic Plan in August 2021, following a multi-phase process facilitated by the Business, Economic, and Community Outreach Network (BEACON) of the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University. We appreciate the team at BEACON and the many community stakeholders, board members, volunteers and staff who participated – entirely virtually – in this important work.

The plan includes updated mission, vision, shared values and diversity, equity and inclusion statements to guide the work of UWLES. The driving strategies will allow UWLES to leverage our strengths while working on areas for improvement over the next several years. These strategies share equal importance, with many actions progressing concurrently. This is a fluid and adaptable framework to be reviewed regularly with stakeholders.
