Overcoming Obstacles

Two Mandan Education Association and NDU Education Support Professional members decorated the town by building sidewalk obstacle courses with chalk for the kids of Mandan. In April, Dawn Ressler and Marla Barnhart created sidewalk obstacle courses at all the elementary schools and the Brave Center in Mandan. Their boss got the idea from social media, and Ressler and Barnhart jumped at the chance to help the community, as well as themselves.

"I miss the kids so much," Ressler said. "This really helps me by doing something to let them know we really do miss them."

They also created and delivered care packets full of activities at students’ homes.
