There’s always something going on at Unitec. The year starts with the biggest student orientation event in the country and ends with the massive end of year party, with lots of concerts, film nights, gaming events, sporting events, free BBQs, parties and comedy nights in between. You could also join one of the many clubs or societies at Unitec (or perhaps even start a new one). And if you’re after some culture, there are plays and dance performances by performing arts students, or design and visual arts exhibitions at the Mt Albert campus galleries.
hectares of park-like grounds, it’s a beautiful place with lots of opportunities to make new friends. You might even see the Auckland Blues (the city rugby team) who often train here. The Mt Albert campus is only 10 minutes’ drive from the city, and a short walk to the nearest bus stop or train station.
Support services The International Office provides visa support, student advisers to help with study-related questions, and an insurance officer to assist with insurance issues. Te Puna Ako Learning Centre provides course-specific support and help with general study skills.
The Student Health Centre, Osteopathic Clinic and pharmacy can help with health issues and prescriptions. Free counselling is available, along with a chaplaincy and prayer rooms. There are support services for students with learning or physical disabilities too.
