he United Nations has declared India as the country with the largest youth population , and the World Bank has pegged India as the second largest work force in the world . Women contribute to almost 25 % of the formal workforce in India . With India on the trajectory of growth, this percentage is only bound to move upwards. India amongst other issues has constantly waged battles to secure the safety of women and the even bigger battle of the public perception of the lack of safety. The proposition that this perception offers has been accelerated with the recent storm of #metoo. The world has been taken aback by the staggering amount of #metoo revelation of sexual abuse. Ranging from film stars, to Olympians, to college students, to blue-collar employees, the movement has been stirred up far and wide. India, considering the social context that we live in, has been considerably slow to pick up on this movement. The constitution of India, the
