Food and drink Our Colchester Campus has a wide and varied choice of venues to meet, eat and drink – catering for many tastes. Some are operated by our Students’ Union and others by our University hospitality team, but all aim to provide good quality produce and value for money, often using locally-sourced and Fairtrade products. Top Bar and Fusion – Square 4 (above Barclays bank) Opened in January 2012, our refurbished Top Bar and new Fusion restaurant offer stylish venues to eat, drink, socialise and relax. Showcasing our Students’ Union’s proud heritage, Top Bar is a laidback place to enjoy a drink, catch up with friends or study. Next to it, Fusion offers a wide range of authentic south east Asian cuisine from light bites to main meals, freshly cooked to order in our open wok kitchen with friendly, efficient table service. A take away service is also available. SU Bar – Square 3 A legendary destination on campus, our SU Bar is the largest bar and restaurant on campus. Serving as a social hub for students, our SU Bar offers a packed menu of quality food that doesn’t cost the earth, from full English breakfasts through to tasty salads and pizzas. Our SU Bar also hosts popular night-time events like pub quizzes and karaoke, as well as showing all of the biggest sporting events on a giant screen and 14 plasma TVs, giving you the 12 Your campus guide

Canteen – Square 3 Open seven days a week, Canteen serves ‘a taste of home’, offering traditional English breakfasts, roasts, fish and chips and dishes from around the world. Happy Days diner – Square 4 Happy Days is an American-style diner with vintage decor and a menu full of modern favourites including burgers, hot dogs, pizzas, jacket potatoes, bagels and wraps, chilli, shakes and sodas, cakes and pies plus a range of appetisers. Blues Café – Square 4 (above Santander bank) A large bright, modern eating and social space overlooking Square 4, Blues Café has a warm

and relaxed atmosphere. It serves a range of ‘bean to cup’ coffee, speciality teas and cold drinks, tasty snacks and cakes. Frango’s – off Square 3 next to the Lecture Theatre Building Frango’s serves a range of marinated chicken with spices from Europe, South America and Mexico.
