Andrea Valls Having been heavily involved in drama at school, I knew from a young age that auditioning for drama schools was the path I was going to take. I took a year out after finishing Upper Sixth and dedicated my time to teaching drama and auditioning for acting schools.
I knew it would be tough, but no one quite prepared me for the emotional roller coaster that was auditioning. I auditioned for seven schools in total but immediately East 15 stood out from the rest for me; the beautiful grounds of the Hatfields campus made me feel instantly welcome and at home and the time and dedication the staff put into auditioning us was unlike other experiences I’d had elsewhere. Needless to say I was thrilled to have been accepted onto the BA Acting course and since then I’ve grown so much as a performer and a person. East 15’s edgy and exciting approach to training young actors has made me into a confident actor who’s
willing to take risks and offer up intelligent thoughts and suggestions in rehearsal. In our second and third years being exposed to film, TV and radio work has been so beneficial in keeping us up to date with the industry that we’re about to enter into. Also the opportunity to enter into several competitions in our third year is yet another way East 15 keeps us constantly developing our professional awareness; I feel ready now to enter into the industry having been nurtured and guided by fabulous tutors whom have all shared their knowledge and expertise with me and my class mates over these three years.
