Medical Education (Leadership) PgCert Starts in: September, January or April Location: Putteridge Bury campus, Luton Mode: Part-time block delivery Open to: UK/EU students only Entry requirements: Open to individuals who have a first degree (or equivalent qualification or experience) in medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, nursing, allied health or social care. It may also be open to those from other backgrounds who wish to develop their knowledge of education, training or leadership in medicine and/or health, eg healthcare managers and educational developers. Key features • This course is relevant for those with formal leadership roles or for practitioners wishing to influence policy and practice
• This course involves simulation in practice About the course This course is designed for those engaged in teaching, learning and assessment and/or workforce development within medical, dental and healthcare contexts. The delivery of the curriculum recognises the need for busy professionals to relate their learning directly to their current and future roles. Each unit combines focused study days with interactive online learning and supported self-directed study. Career opportunities The PgCert Medical Education (Leadership) is accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA), leading to fellowship of the HEA. The PgCert also serves as a recognised entry route into the PgDip or MA Medical Education.
Medical Simulation PgCert Starts in: September, January or April Location: Putteridge Bury campus, Luton Mode: Part-time block delivery Open to: UK/EU students only Entry requirements: Open to medical, dental, veterinary and healthcare graduates. It is also open to graduates with staff and educational development experience in associated professional contexts. Key features • This flexible course combines study days with online learning • Our state-of-the-art Simulation Centre provides opportunities to practise approaches in education or staff training • Opportunity to rehearse, critique and develop core facilitation skills in simulated settings
