INTERVIEW TO ANDRÉS OLVERA His name is Julio Andrés Olvera Alejos, he is 18 years old and nowadays he isn’t studying but he will study a degree in communications. He is a swimmer, he has been practicing swimming since he was six years old first as a hobby, but when he turned eleven, he started to do it professionally. He only practices swimming; he doesn’t make any other sport or complementary activity. 1. What made you want to start? My brothers, they are older than me so they started making sports and I continued their path, that’s how I got involved.
2. Who taught you to swim? I first went with Afro on the preteam, then I went to the team CAAN on the planting team with Monica Icker, later I went to prospects with Gregorio Torres and at last I went on sporting talents with Aaron and Ascanio Fernandez Pinto.
3. What stroke is your best? And your favorite? Freestyle is my best style and Backstroke is my favorite.

Michael Phelps, the 22 times Olympic medalist, will be testing the waters when he returns to competitive swimming next week at the Arena Grand Prix in Mesa, Arizona.

I am in favor of the students not been retained in the same school grade and also in favor of the students being able to credit all of their subjects. The teachers and school subjects are the ones who motivate the students to keep studying. This is not the cause of the low educational level in Mexico, forwardly I believe that this will be great for the country and will strengthen our literacy rate, it will lower the rate of the teenagers who don’t study and it will benefit the people by completing basic education.

Today Mexico spends a lot of money in education but it is deficient, what do you think is the principal trouble? person wishes to be on the other side of the border. All the effort put in to bring up your economic status. The hopes of the family lie on the back of a single human being. All the momentum that the immigrant wants to earn, all the preparation and the courage to jump the fence with the borders patrols staring like eagles, all over the place, but the question is can he make it? During the 1960’s everyone wanted to jump over the fence and become stable and being able to stand up for yourself and tell everyone you accomplished the American Dream. Today over two hundred Latino Americans get deported because they tried to pursuit the “Dream”. Drastic methods are used for the people who tried to pursuit the dream, mistreatment and curses is the best this people can get, most of the time. When talking with an immigrant that got deported he told me it was the best experience he had ever felt. Emotions were running all over the place and the hopes jumping all in the segment of ten minutes; between accomplish the dream or being right back to their hometown with their dreams being torn into tiny little pieces. The immigrants whose dreams were brought down to the ground will never give up and keep trying.
The praying has been made, all the preparation brought up to the plate. Waiting for the perfect moment, the cop is distracted, now RUN RUN !! My coach and my family had see me grow up as a player and they always tell me that I can be better and make me correct all of my flaws.
When I entered high school my mother told to enter a team so I can make new friends and stay fit for the rest of the school year.

Why did you choose to play basketball on top of any sport?
No, my friend always made fun of me (in a good way) because I never made a shot, there is where I realized practice makes perfect.
I did not like any other sport, soccer sucks and I thought it was boring, football I was too weak to enter the team, so I chose basketball because is fast and strategic.
Have you won any honors in the league of your school?

This year I won the scoring title, the MVP of the league and First-Team All San Diego Section.
LeBron James, man he is beast, his strength how he drives to the basket, he makes simply impossible to defend. He is an all-around player.
Do you need discipline to be in a basketball team? A lot, practice every day, stay fit and hear your coach, they can give life lessons in which they bring experience and help you in your weaknesses and make your strengths stronger. They get into my skin a lot
Who do you thank the most for introducing you to basketball? My mother, when she forced me to make the decision of entering the team, I never thought I would be this good.

Three years ago I lived the best experience in my life; nobody knows how that moment felt. Is something that no one could ever describe because this feeling cannot be described. At the end of this moment I thought I was dreaming and that nobody had the right to wake me up. All the kids and all the people did their part to make this experience unforgettable; this will be part of my life forever and no one can make me forget this. I got into the plane at the last minute, running, fisting and moving people into their toes because I did not want to lose that experience. My family yelling goodbye and to accomplish the mission I was heading forward to. The guy who was picking up the passes told I was just in time, one minute before the airplane started its fly and it will never be coming back for me, if not I wouldn’t live this experience because it was too late. My flight was heading to Veracruz, for me to live that moment that I will never forget, as well as my teammates. My fifth yearly missions were the best, I was used to be in the valley of Mexicali but those do not compare to the ones in Veracruz. I am very grateful for the people who introduced to this moments called, Mega Misiones. My friends and my family who told that I will not regret going to them, this year was the one that I realized that I have to keep this mission for a long way on my life. In Veracruz there is approximately twenty-five towns that make up the rural parts of this great place. The town that my team was assigned was in a walking distance of Pico De Orizaba one of the most beautiful landscape I have seen in my entire life, the people were great, the kids were lovely and I will never forget this little girl who broke my heart forever when she told me “I miss you.” When I left it made me realize how blessed I am with all the things I have for me to survive, they literary had nothing and made the best out of
