The water of Zamzam is water with great virtues which first came out when Hazrat Jibraeel (AS) struck the earth with his wings (Sahi Al-Bukhaari, 3364). ALLAH provided water for helping Hazrat Ismaa’eel (AS) and his mother with it. The heart of our beloved Prophet (PBUH) was washed by angles with Zamzam water. Many Ahadees have been narrated regarding the virtues and importance of ZamZam water. The Prophet (PBUH) said: “The best water on the face of the earth is the water of Zamzam; it is a kind of food and a healing from sickness.” (Saheeh al-Jaami’, 3302).
Many Scholars and righteous people have experienced this they have drunk Zamzam with the intention in their heart of fulfilling some of their desires and need such as healing from disease and sickness or getting themselves from poverty and distress, and ALLAH fulfilled their hopes and wishes. Zamzam water is not like the ordinary water. This is the miracle that Zamzam water came out from hot desert, this water has a quirky fact that it never dries up. It is just 5 feet deep well, it replenishes itself and from thousands of years this well is continuously providing water to many pilgrims. It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn-e-Abbas; “Prophet (PBUH) came to well of Zamzam and we drew a bucket for him. Prophet (PBUH) drank from it and then rinsed his mouth in that bucket. We then poured the water in to the well. Prophet (PBUH) then said, If I didn’t fear that you will overpower one another, I would have drawn the water myself” Hazrat Ibn-e-Abbas narrates that Prophet (PBUH) said: “The best water on the face of the earth is Zamzam water, in it lies food for eaters and cure for the ill sickness” The scholars across the world agreed on this point that Zamzam water is the most virtuous and honoured water among all the waters that are available in earth. It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Zarr (RA), he said: “There is a food in Zamzam water for those who eat and cure for those who are ill” There are so many other virtues of water of Zamzam, a person who drinks Zamzam water to his fill will get freedom hypocrisy and that person will get glad tiding of being among those of Iman.
