thank Joel and his staff for all of their work in the last three years,” said Niedergall. “The women’s soccer program has made steady gains during the transition to Division I and I am grateful for all the work that has been done to establish a solid foundation for the program moving forward.” Bancroft worked four years for the River Hawks, including a three-year stint as head coach. During his tenure, Bancroft complied a 16-35-3 overall record, including an 8-15-1 mark in America East play. The River Hawks are coming off their most successful Division I season yet, with a 5-9-0 overall mark and a 3-5-0 record in league play this past season. Had the squad been eligible for post-season play, the River Hawks would have qualified for a spot in the America East Championship for the first time since the university’s transition to Division I. victory against Bryant. Over the past two seasons, Bancroft has led his squad to two upset wins against reigning conference champions Hartford and UAlbany, as well as an impressive 2-1 win against New Hampshire in the conference finale this past October. A national search for a new head coach will commence immediately.
