History and Tradition During the 33-year history of the ULM softball program, individuals have been recognized for their outstanding efforts on and off the field. In total, athletes from ULM have totaled more than 80 All-Conference honors for their play 1984 on the field and more than 70 academic awards. Included in these honors are recognition for being amongst the best First Team Allison Nevils 2B players in the state of Louisiana, ULM’s conference and the team’s region. In 2008, the Warhawks had two freshman Millie George SS Kathy Aulds OF named honorable mention All-Louisiana. Stewart P The 1997 season alone saw six members of the team named to the All-Southland Conference Team, nine players Wilanne Second Team named to the Commissioner’s Honor Role, and three named to the Academic All-Conference team. ULM’s Sarah Theresa Sims 3B/P Kelly Vickers DH Dawson also claimed the league’s Pitcher and Player of the Year Award while head coach Rosemary Holloway was 1985 named the league’s Coach of the Year. First Team Seven different Warhawks have earned a specialty player of the year award, led by five from Sarah Dawson. Lori Allison Nevils 2B Millie George SS Tande, the school and Southland Conference’s all-time leader in most offensive categories earned the Warhawks last Wilanne Stewart P Player of the Year award, pulling down the honor and the distinction as the league’s Hitter of the Year in the 2001 Second Team Mishelle Spanos OF season. Kathy Aulds OF ULM has had 10 individuals honored by the NFCA with All-South Region honors and two individuals named Delanie Pimental DH Shelly Monroe C Player of the Year by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. In the 22 years that the Warhawks were a member of the Southland Conference, individuals earned a total of 1986 Second Team 85 All-Conference nods, 14 specialty awards including four Player of the Year and five Newcomer of the Year nods, Louise Bellon 2B 16 Southland Conference All-Tournament honors and 57 league academic honors. These players have helped the Mishelle Spanos OF Pam Johnson DH Warhawk softball program amass nearly 800 wins and average better than 24 victories per season.
