The Vandal snowmen wound up a fine "skison" with a brilliant third-place effort in the Pacific Coast conference intercollegiate meet. lit Martin, Washington. Arter moving into the lead on the second day of the three-day meet the ldaho squad faltered on the final day to finish behind Washington and W.S.C.
Idaho's ROTC rifle team. traditionally among thc bcst in the country, was a winner again this year, taking first place in the William Randolph Hearst trophy match in the Sixth Army Area. Twenty-nine other colleges and universities participatcd. The Vandal sharpshooters also placed in the Sixth Army intercollegiate match.
With Jack Numbers, LOll Berriochoa, and Larry Remakills as standouts, and a team of topflight slatmcn, thc Vandals competcd at Sun Valley, Wallace, Potlatch, McCall, Spokane, and Martin, alld caeh time came aWllY with colors flying. "Babc" Brown coached the ski team with Numhers as captain.
At Gem press time the tealll was being considered for national honors in the Hearst match and was practicing for the National Rifle j\ssociation championships, schcduled for March and April. The team is under the guidance of Colollcl B. H. Hensley, and is coached by Master Sergeant J. D. Morgan.
