UIC MHA NEWSLETTER

Further Growth of the UIC MHA Program

The 2022-23 academic year was very positive and eventful for our UIC MHA students, alumni, and faculty. Our students demonstrated strong leadership skills through their capstone work, taking the lead on coordinating several events including the CHEF/ACHE networking event and Women in Healthcare Leadership panel, and participation at the ACHE Congress. The UIC Alumni Council was formally launched this past year and has many exciting initiatives planned. Our faculty is busy creating new knowledge through their research and launching new, innovative courses such as Rebuilding Healthcare from the Inside Out- a collaboration between faculty member, Frank Borgers, and the UIC Institute for Healthcare Delivery Design. To top it all off, we were recognized by US News & World Report as a top 30 program nationally in healthcare management.

The upcoming year will be very busy and exciting. I anticipate more program growth and further strengthening of our UIC MHA community I am looking forward to year 2 as program director and very grateful for everyone’s support and partnership

We wanted to share some exciting news from our UIC Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) Alumni Council! We're proud to report on our recent accomplishments and our ongoing commitment to strengthening our alumni community

Successful Alumni Events:

ACHE Event: Our event at the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) was a hit! It united MHA alumni from diverse healthcare backgrounds, fostering insightful discussions and valuable connections.

Happy Hour & Get Together: A few weeks ago, we enjoyed a lively happy hour, rekindling old friendships and forging new ones.

Our next areas of focus:

As our Council continues to work to connect students and alumni, we are working toward an initial fundraising goal of being able to send 12 Students to the ACHE Annual Conference in 2024! In the coming newsletters, we plan to provide profiles of different alumni from across our network to provide insight into how the UIC MHA has impacted them and their careers.

We're excited about our network's growth and look forward to future success stories. Stay tuned for updates and opportunities to connect!
