WE ARE HOUSTON’S UNIVERSITY

Houston isn’t a college town—it’s a college city. Houston continues to grow because Houstonians are ambitious. They’re used to living on the frontier, as entrepreneurs, researchers, and innovators. It’s an energizing environment that will inspire you as a student, and, as a global business hub, it offers opportunities for internships and fieldwork in every area. Your life is one destination after another, and each is a new beginning. High school leads to college, college leads to degrees, and degrees lead to a life powered by ambition. When you join the University of Houston, your ambition can take you anywhere.

TIER ONE PUT US ON THE MAP; WHERE YOU GO IS UP TO YOU.

We are a Tier One public research university, which means we’ve been nationally recognized by the Carnegie Foundation for our excellence in groundbreaking research. Less than 3 percent of universities nationwide are recognized as Tier One public research institutions. In other words, a Tier One degree is more valuable.

There are tons of reasons why you should consider living on campus: saving time and money, connecting with other students outside the classroom, experiencing independence in a safe environment, and more. But here’s the best reason: you’ll never be bored. Also, those who live on campus have higher GPAs than those who don’t. Read more at uh.edu/housing.
