Introduction This portfolio contains the works I have done in past six years in the fields of architecture, interior and urban design. Although the works shown here are parts of teamwork, the projects that are in varying scales and contents selected, are the ones I played major parts during the development of the projects. Main aim for preparing this portfolio is to give information about my background in the fields of architecture, urban, interior, product design, concept development, application and manufacturing drawings, controlling all these projects in the construction site, coordination of varying disciplines and connection with client. Each project that are visible here is developed, research oriented, design is prioritized and all these designs are presented with certain strategies and techniques, solving the details of the projects to be implemented after the same precision; planning the whole process from the first sketches of architecture and design to the user’s experience and to contribute to the formation of meaningful architectural and urban spaces. The Laguna villas arranged as townhouses are positioned on this rather bare, wide and flat zone that bears the traces of the former construction and extends between the long beach and the vegetated area crawling into the beach. Based on the scenario that the townhouse typology will be designed on a single direction and two directions, the distance between the buildings have been defined by using walls as structural elements. The spaces defined by these walls have been analyzed in detail according to their public, semi private and private usage. The basic design motivation is built upon various aspects like the intensity and the arrangement of the wall elements, irregular extension of these walls into the pool, the way spaces between the buildings are hidden and not visible, and the way they leave the construction without any reference. Water is another element which penetrates, reflects and accentuates the building. The unity between water and the walls that define the spatial setup is the main element establishing this timeless feeling. Liget Budapest Ethnography Museum
This museum contains not only the exhibition ground; it is also a center of attraction with its interactive, open and semi open spaces. In this manner, museum contributes to the city’s image which could be related with tantalizing spaces. Being attractive to visitors will ensure the museum’s contribution to urban life. The features mentioned above for the museum, creates a dynamic, active and living museum instead of a static and inanimate museum. Despite the static nature of the museum, the design approach combines static with the dynamism of the city. When the visitor connected to the past pulls off his/her visual relationship from the artifact and moves out of the museum, he/she contributes to the development and maintenance of culture in semi-outdoor and outdoor recreation and performance areas on the ground and on the shell, the visitor begins to include the events. Thus; past, present and future coexistence starts.

The most important design decision was taken to solve the problems arising from the architectural features of this building between the existing two buildings with an approach that can contribute to the design. For instance the void between corten elements and skewed walls have provided a gap that helps to control the interfering and panels that created according to the electrical and mechanical elements with the help of some light installment has turned into an installation.

Amber Road Trekking Cabin
This project has designed to be a shelter that will be placed between dunes, rocks, sandy beach and pine trees at certain intervals to the coast of Baltic Sea of Latvia.
Considering this building as a part of this unique, natural landscape and having the approach of creating a memorable and recognizable building, underlies the basis of the architectural thinking.
The project starts with this idea and continues as a part of landscape, just like an amber stone or sandstone crops. Building breaks off from ground, step by step and creates a semi-open, protective space

First approach to this design study was to inspecting spatial and visual problems of the project area. Buildings, bars and restaurants, and especially tents near the coast of the project area creates an unsettled silhouette and this led to a design decision of creating a more calm and still facade design with the help of architectonic decisions made
such as balance of solid-void elements, texture usage and proportions. Exposed concrete has selected due to its longlasting nature and wooden sidings to be able to create materialistic harmony with other buildings in the island.
UGUR BILIR_PORTFOLIO ‘18
Another important aspect is to creating a plan layout that would ve a solution to existing problems. In particular, it is aimed to create multi-functional rich, sheltered, semi-open spaces where the people of the island can socialize, before and after the praying and worship both collectively during the friday and religious holiday meetings. 47

Brick has chosen as it is the material that shows best the character of the building and where the building opens to exterior, transparent and permeable materials have decided to be used. Conference Hall The openings in the building allows to design a conference hall for 1500-2000 people. And there are no spaces for the backstage areas in the basement floor. Therefore the conference area located in the northwest mass where the stage would be on the road side. GOP Municipality
GaziosmanpaĹ&#x;a is one of the crowded districts of Istanbul with its dense population. The current municipality building and its close surroundings are the most important centers of this region. However, as a result of the rapid developments, public areas and their relations have not developed enough; Today the existing municipality building itself is an urban barrier with its surrounding roads and squares. The main objective of the project is to redesign the urban surface in a more effective, accessible way to build a stronger relationship with the existing building stock. In this respect, the project redesigns pedestrian and vehicle traffic, public transportation elements, dolmuĹ&#x; waiting areas, bus stops, parking lots, subway connections under the ground and leaves the square for a pedestrian-oriented use.

Rwanda Chapel (NAVIGATE) This chapel acts as a vessel for those seeking to ‘NAVIGATE’ their spiritual voyage. The building is located in Rukomo village, Rwanda and has been designed for the Clarian and Rwandan community. Inspiration has been taken from the unique beauty of nature, formed by the forest of Rwanda, lakes, waterways, lush fields and mountains. The building is formed by two surfaces that are both partially touching the ground and breaking off from it, thus opening voids at the base. The gathering of these two surfaces are materialised independently but culminate in harmony. While creating a minimal sculpture on the exterior, the unique nature of Rukomo is captured on the interior, where surfaces break away from the ground enabling the boundaries of inside and outside to become ambiguous. This presents a peaceful inner experience to users where calm can be found within nature. Gathering and creating a meaningful union between these two different surfaces acts as a monument to keep collective memory alive. The harmonious symbolism pays respect to what has occurred in the past while providing a landmark for Rwanda as a representation of tolerance and diversity that has stemmed from solidarity and social peace rather than conflict. The glass facade on the parvis side is retracted from an envelope where the surfaces rise away from the ground. This creates an inviting semi-open entrance that serves as a meeting point. Since this facade is created in a collapsable mode it enables both the interior and the semi-open area to be opened up into a communal space. This provides an opportunity for the space to be extended if the community increases. Wood is used in this project due to its low carbon emissions and its sustainable, renewable and locally sourced building material. Not only does it have the lowest impact on the climate, but it also has positive effects for the neighborhood.

www.ubdw.co.uk In the daytime, the chapel is filling with the divinity of the sunlight, leaking from the gap in between two surfaces which are bending towards each other, up to the sky. The cardinal positioning of the structure allows the light to enter from the side of the presbytery, from dusk till dawn. The contrast between the solidity of the walls and the aperture of the gap creates sharp beams at noon, revealing the silhouette of the cross and its shadow on the aisle. At night, the atmosphere is becoming one with Rwanda’s nocturnal sky. Lightings on the walls are elaborating on stars while the linear lights on the ground create an effect of seeing the horizon within this sacred space. The overall effect is one of celestial and earthly congruence, space where the earth and stars meet.
