skyscraper 1.5 Scope • Skyscraper with cutting-edge technology and futuristic approach to hinge the needs of the city in future. • They provide the opportunity to control urban sprawl with their relatively small foot print. • Skyscrapers are thus material and energy intensive buildings, but skyscrapers can have long lifespans, for example the empire state building in new York city, united states completed in 1931 and remains in active use.
1.6 Limitation • The main focus for the design of skyscrapers would be on facade, core services, structure and floor plates. • Present GDCR does not allow this kind of high-density development within the city of Ahmedabad but for academic proposal, we are altering the bylaws.
