Involvement ¡ Generosity ¡ Legacy
Parent & Family Giving Building Traditions of Giving and Engagement The Parent & Family Giving program at UC Santa Barbara was born out of an increasing tradition of family philanthropy and volunteerism. We honor and celebrate the parents and guardians who have contributed to making a difference in the lives of current students and future generations.
Transformational Family Giving Funding from the state and tuition comprise only part of your student’s story. Over 10% of the student experience is funded by private philanthropy – donors who are interested in not only maintaining, but also enriching student life at UC Santa Barbara. This supplemental support serves to augment teaching and improve the resources available at UC Santa Barbara.

“Watching my children develop their quest for knowledge — that’s the best thing one could ask for from a university. Do stay engaged.” Anita Manwani-Bhagat UCSB Parent and Member of the Bay Area Leadership Committee
Reasons to Support the Student Experience Community & Culture Gifts from families broaden possibilities. Scholarships allow students to fully participate in their academic life, while support for education abroad, internships, and community service enhance the student experience. Family investments keep university education at its best: vibrant, relevant, and dynamic.
Exceptional Education Faculty are important at UC Santa Barbara. Your gift to faculty recruitment and retention supports the people who shape knowledge and inspire your student to think big. We place a premium on investing in extraordinary scholars – people who not only possess knowledge but are interested in motivating, sharing, and relating that knowledge to your student.
Significant Research Research is not just for professors and scientists: it’s for all scholars committed to learning. More than 56% of UC Santa Barbara’s undergraduate population are engaged in research, ranging from measuring water samples in labs to studying tribal languages in the field. Your support of research ensures that students gain a deeper understanding of the world through hands-on learning.
