defense Mules to have new look on D in 2016 The UCM defense will have a different look in 2016. The Mules return nine starters from the 2015 squad that had the MIAA’s third ranked rushing, scoring and total defenses. The new look will come in the form of new defensive coordinator Wes Bell, who was hired to replace the departed Matt Jeter. Bell brings his 3-4 defense from Missouri Western, which ranked second in the league in rushing, scoring and total defense and was fourth in pass defense in 2015. He’ll have a lot to work with in his first season with nine starters returning, including All-MIAA picks Monteze Latimore, Austin Miller, Josh Powell, Triphinue Taylor and Tevin Teamer.
