In the region of Latin America, 44% of cities (Charata, Mexico City, La Costa and IMDEC Region) have developed a plan to promote the Information Society in their territories. In the case of Europe, the percentage increases significantly, as 92% of the cities (Madrid, Helsinki, Lappeenranta, Roeselare, Barcelona, Bilbao, Jaén, Katowice, Bordeaux, Malmö, Limoges and Le Havre) have plans.
