Smart Indicators 3.1 Smart Economy Internationalization Participation in international networks With regard to participation in international networks, of the 20 cities that responded to the question (3 in Africa, 6 in Latin America, 1 in Asia and 10 in Europe), 75% of them participate in some type of international network besides UCLG.

The main international networks that UCLG cities belong to are:  Association of Mayors for Peace  Asian Network of Mayor Cities (ANMC21)  Sister Cities International  C40 Cities  Asia Pacific Cities Summit (APCS)  CITYNET  UCCI ‐ Union of Capitals of Latin American  UCUE ‐ Union of Capitals of the European Union  American Forum of Local Governments

Regarding the analysis of the information by region, we can mention that, in the four regions, over 50% of the cities that responded to the question are participating in another network. In this regard, the case of Europe is noteworthy, as this is a region where 90% of the cities that responded to the question are involved in some other network. It is followed by Africa, a region in which 67% of cities participate in another network. Finally in Latin America, 50% participate in some other international network.
