UCLA Extension offers over 40 certificate programs taught by industry experts for international students. Practical certificates that offer real-world skills include Digital Marketing, Sustainability, Business and Entertainment, Data Science, Filmmaking, and Project Management. Programs provide access to internships, optional practical training (OPT), advising, career services, and the UCLA Global Alumni Network. • Marketing: Get the skills necessary to succeed in the dynamic and competitive field of marketing. Learn digital and social-media marketing, brand management and integrated marketing communications, and consumer market research and analytics. • Sustainability: Sustainable initiatives have become a driving force in the economy. Acquire skills in environmental and energy consulting, green investments and marketing, green building project design, renewable energy, climate change, public policy, and more. • Accounting: Equip yourself with a thorough understanding of accounting standards and principles while also preparing for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination. • Cybersecurity: Learn essential cybersecurity skills in this 4-course certificate. Quickly learn about securing applications, cryptography, and cyber attacks; create security policies and risk assessments; and gain hands-on experience with hacking methodology and mitigation.

Study Abroad

The Study Abroad at UCLA Program is designed for international students who are currently enrolled in degree programs in their home country and want to earn transferable academic credits. Study side by side with American students and working professionals at UCLA for one to two quarters, and experience campus life in Los Angeles through UCLA undergraduate daytime and UCLA Extension evening courses.

Instructor Spotlight

Sarita D. Jackson, PhD

Ms. Jackson is president and CEO of the Global Research Institute of International Trade (GRIIT). She assists business owners with increasing their profits by exporting to the global market. Dr. Jackson has served as a trade policy consultant throughout Latin America, the Caribbean and Southern Africa. Prior to founding GRIIT, Dr. Jackson was a tenured associate professor. She is a former Fulbright Scholar, and her work has been published in a number of academic journals nationally and internationally. Her second book, International Trade in Services: Effective Practice and Policy, was recently published by Routledge Taylor and Francis Group. Dr. Jackson speaks English and Spanish. She received her BA in Journalism and Spanish from USC and PhD from Brown University.
