College Counseling Bootcamp Courses

Our career highlight belongs to Patricia Murphy, a lifelong educator of gifted and neurodiverse children from birth through grade 12, and an instructor and mentor to new teachers. Pat recently retired as the Director of our Teacher Education credential programs, where she redesigned the Clear credential Induction program to support candidate engagement, reflective practice, and knowledge of underserved students. Our credential programs passed CTC accreditation with flying colors. Pat is known for her compassion, deep commitment to the needs of others, and optimism for the future in teaching. Pat is a brilliant educator who thinks that, “Induction is a really exciting field!”
The purpose of these short, intensive courses is to introduce potential counselors, who are new to this professional field, to numerous aspects of the college admissions process. During the course, students develop an understanding of key factors such as financial aid and the impact of standardized test scores. Upon completion, students are prepared to continue their studies in counseling or pursue advanced topics via enrollment in the full College Counseling certificate program. The ideal student for this course is an aspiring college advisor, current school counselor, CBO advisor or other professional working in college advising.
