Empenhados em construir a imagem mais bela nesta aquarela que tinge a passarela e revela seus tons, nesta primeira edição pedimos licença para pisar neste terreiro de bambas, para reverenciar os “Reis da Folia Carioca” e com gratidão apresentar nossos cumprimentos a LIESA por sua lisura, gestão e credibilidade que se estende a nós, foliões e profissionais, deste Solo Sagrado do Samba.

Por mais de 30 anos a LIESA administra a maior festa popular do Brasil, o Carnaval Carioca. Símbolo de organização e competência a instituição conta com a expertise de seus fundadores e membros que sustentam esta base e consolidam a comunhão entre as agremiações. Uma potencia admirada e seguida como exemplo a tantas outras associações dos mais diversos Estados do país.

Gestão de confiabilidade e dedicação, além da carinhosa recepção a todos, sem distinção, é assim a atuação do presidente da instituição, LIESA, Jorge Luiz Alexandre Castanheira, figura de grande conceito, postura e respeito que está à frente de todos os compromissos e atividades que envolvam a instituição, ou o carnaval de modo geral. Presente nas quadras, eventos e solenidades, Castanheira e seus diretores aproximam as Escolas de Samba e seus componentes a LIESA mantendo com isso o elo que fortalece ambas as partes.

We are committed to building the most beautiful image in this watercolor that dyes the samba avenue and reveals its tones, in this first edition we ask permission to step on this samba experts land, to revere the “Carioca Party Kings “and gratefully present our compliments to LIESA for its integrity, management and credibility that is extendend to us, revelers and professionals of this Sacred Ground of Samba.

LIESA has managed the largest popular party in Brazil,the Carioca Carnival for 30 years. It is a symbol of organization and competence, the institution relies on the expertise of its founders and members who sustain this base and consolidate the union among the associations. An admired power and an example followed for many other associations in the most states of the country.

A management of reliability and dedication, besides affectionate reception to everyone with no distinction,this is the performance of the president of the institution, LIESA, Jorge Luiz Alexandre Castanheira, a figure of great concept, posture and respect that is in charge of all the commitments and activities that involve the institution or the carnival in general. Present in the blocos, events and solemnities, Castanheira and his directors bring the samba schools and their components closer to LIESA, in this way they maintain the bond that strengthens both sides.

artão de visitas do país, o Carnaval atrai os turistas do mundo inteiro, fonte de curiosidade mundial, a Cidade Maravilhosa encanta, exibe e seduz com suas belezas naturais e pela beleza plástica, arquitetônica e musical apresentados pelos artistas da folia.

Entre os muitos motivos de se lançar a Rio, Carnaval e Turismo, um dos principais desafios é, sem duvida, ampliar a visão dos cariocas e turistas no que se refere a universalidade do Carnaval, que ganhou o mundo e traz o mundo para o Rio de Janeiro. Um desafio que estimula o conhecimento, as particularidades e curiosidades da maior festa popular do planeta.

Neste palco iluminado da Sapucaí estreamos como um folião que entra na passarela pela primeira vez ansioso pelo inicio do desfile. Nosso pede passagem surge no auge de uma crise econômica que obviamente atingiu o Carnaval, porém, assim como o próprio Carnaval foi preciso unir forças e colocar o bloco na Rua, ou melhor a Revista Rio, Carnaval e Turismo nas mãos de cada folião, turista ou não, e com isto brindarmos a conquista de um titulo. O desafio se mistura ao prazer, a adrenalina que se transforma na magia, na alegria, na esfuziante emoção que é viver o Carnaval do Rio de Janeiro e do mundo inteiro.

Não há fronteiras, o Carnaval é plural e por este motivo chegamos à concentração munidos da energia de Momo prontos para a folia, para atravessar a avenida espalhando confetes e serpentinas de informação, beleza e arte. A arte e cultura de um povo, carioca, brejeiro, festeiro prova que o Carnaval é universal.

t is the Country calling card. Carnival attracts tourists from all over the world, a source of world curiosity, the Marvelous City enchants, displays and seduces with its natural beauties and the plastic, architectural and musical beauty that is presented by the party artists.

Among many reasons to launch Rio, Carnival and Tourism Magazine, one of the main challenges is undoubtedly to broaden the vision of Cariocas and tourists regarding the universality of Carnival, which won the world and brings the world to Rio de Janeiro. A challenge that stimulates the knowledge, peculiarities and curiosities of the biggest popular party on the planet.

In this illuminated stage of the Sapucaí we debuted like a reveler that enters in the avenue for the first time anxious for the beginning of the parade.

We try to open the way in a moment of a serious economic crisis that obviously reached the Carnival, but just like the Carnival itself it was necessary to join forces and put the group on the Street, or better to put the Rio, Carnival and Tourism magazines in the hands of every person, tourist or not, and with this we celebrate the achievement of the title. The challenge is mixed with pleasure, adrenaline that turns into magic, joy, the thrilling excitement of living the Carnival of Rio de Janeiro and the whole world.

There are no borders, Carnival is plural and because of this we arrived at the concentration with the energy of the King Momo ready for the revelry, to cross the avenue spreading confetti and streamers of information, beauty and art. The art and culture of people, carioca, cheerful, party-goer, proves that Carnival is universal.

“O turismo é a única saída para a crise econômica que o Rio vem enfrentando, não há outra. É a maior indústria do mundo, de retorno imediato em todos os sentidos: gera emprego e receita para a cidade e propicia recursos para investir em saúde e educação e na melhoria da própria cidade”.

A afirmação é do novo presidente da Empresa de Turismo do Rio de Janeiro (Riotur), Marcelo Alves.

Em visita pelo porto da cidade recepcionando pessoalmente os turistas que chegam a Cidade MARAVILHOSA, vindo de vários países com destino a diversas Cidades Brasileiras em especial o “ Rio de Janeiro “, em suas palavras o presidente disse que o principal objetivo de sua administração é duplicar o número de visitantes. “ e destacou; O Rio recebe atualmente cerca de 1,5 milhão a 2 milhões de turistas por ano e a nossa meta é dobrar, ainda neste ano, este número, o que é perfeitamente possível”.

Porque, do ponto de vista da infraestrutura, a cidade está preparada: o número de leitos aumentou, as atrações aumentaram”, disse.

armen Mouro foi a primeira Rainha de Bateria estrangeira do Carnaval de São Paulo, e agora, também chega ao Rio de Janeiro para participar da festa. Em 2016, ela representou a influência de Angola nos ritmos e na dança brasileira, que estão em diversas casas de shows, bares e afins de várias cidades brasileiras.

Com 39 anos, Carmen, que já morou dez anos no Brasil, possui lojas de sapatos de grife (é presidente do grupo SDB Group), tem três filhos e é formada em Direito. A angolana disse que adora estar no Brasil, principalmente, nesta época do ano. “Ritmo quente, alegria e alto astral me deixam em êxtase. O Brasil é realmente abençoado”, comentou ao ser apresentada, em São Paulo, a vários sambistas ligados ao Carnaval. A Rainha teve a companhia do cônsul angolano Belo Mangueira.

A empresária tem no Brasil interesses comerciais na área de beleza e estética: está lançando em território brasileiro uma linha de esmaltes, inicialmente com dez cores. Uma curiosidade é que o nome de cada um foi inspirado nas províncias de Angola. O esmalte vermelho, por exemplo, tem o nome de onde Carmen nasceu – Benguela. Outras províncias importantes são Luanda e Zaire.

Empreendedora, Carmen Mouro, não descarta a possibilidade de investir em outras áreas também, embora o forte de sua companhia seja a moda e cosméticos aliados a tratamentos de beleza.

A

corte momesca para o carnaval de 2017 foi eleita na Cidade do Samba, lugar que reúne as fábricas do carnaval do Grupo Especial do Rio de Janeiro, na noite em 12 de Outubro de 2016. O concurso organizado pela RioTur agraciou os vencedores com título e coroa, além dos prêmios de R$ 30 mil, enquanto as princesas receberam R$ 22,5 mil.

Eleito Rei Momo 2017, Fábio Damião dos Santos Antunes é músico conhecido artisticamente como Arerê, tem 31 anos, perseguiu o sonho de ser o dono da festa na Cidade Maravilhosa por quatro anos e comandará a cidade nos dias de folia. Mocidade Independente de coração, o sambista terá a seu lado a rainha eleita no mesmo concurso, mas que já integra a corte carioca desde 2015, a portelense Uillana Adães, de 21 anos.

Estreante no concurso, Joice Rocha de Oliveira, de 20 anos e que tem como escola de samba a Acadêmicos do Grande Rio foi eleita a primeira princesa. Deisiane Conceição que também é portelense foi eleita segunda princesa desta linda corte.

TEM CRIANÇA NO SAMBA

D

esde o surgimento das primeiras escolas de samba no carnaval do Rio de Janeiro até o alcance de maior manifestação da folia carioca, ainda nos anos de 1950 a participação infantil sempre foi muito intensa. Prova disso é que nos desfiles das escolas de samba a presença da ala das crianças é obrigatória. Na década de 1940 Luiz Fernando do Carmo – o Laíla, renomado diretor de carnaval e harmonia da Beija-Flor de Nilópolis, fundou no Morro do Salgueiro, o Acadêmicos da Ladeira, uma agremiação carnavalesca formada apenas

pelas crianças da comunidade. Agremiação que por três carnavais desfilou pelas ruas da Tijuca. Rubens Confete, uma referência do Jornalismo Carnavalesco no Rio, conta que a Sociedade Recreativa Unidos do Cabuçu, na época de sua fundação, também fora uma escola de samba mirim. Mas o sonho de um visionário começou a ganhar forma em 1979 – Ano Internacional da Criança. Arandi Cardoso dos Santos, o Careca do Império Serrano já naquela época tinha o objetivo de fundar uma escola formada genuinamente por crianças.

Quatro anos mais tarde Careca com a ajuda de sambistas de renome do Império Serrano como Roberto Ribeiro e Priminho, além de astros como Clara Nunes, Alcione, Martinho da Vila e João Nogueira, fundou o Império do Futuro em 05 de agosto de 1983. “Tínhamos o desejo de fundar uma escola de samba formada apenas por crianças. Esta semente começou a ser germinada ainda no final dos anos de 1970” – disse Careca. Mas apenas fundar uma agremiação carnavalesca, não foi o suficiente. Arandi Cardoso tinha como foco auxiliar no resgate de crianças e adolescentes, os livrando de mazelas como as más influências como as drogas e tráfico. “Através da disseminação da cultura e educação, resgatamos dezenas de vidas. Os trazendo para o lado do bem, orientando-os para o lado bom da vida, formando cidadãos” – declarou.

A partir da iniciativa de Careca do Império Serrano, outros sambistas como Osmar Valença fundou a Alegria da Passarela, reunindo crianças que desenvolviam todo o carnaval da garotada, sendo responsável pelo surgimento de talentos como os irmãos Dudu Nobre e Lucinha Nobre, além de Leonardo Bessa. Em seguida um projeto desenvolvido entre alunos e professores da Escola Municipal Ministro Gama Filho, deu origem a escola mirim Império das Princesas Negras, no bairro do Lins de Vasconcelos. Por se tratar de um projeto educacional, a escola não desfilou no carnaval, mas sim, no mês de dezembro, pelas ruas do bairro do Méier.

Inspirado no modelo implantado por educadores e alunos da Ministro Gama Filho, por sugestão do então governador do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, Leonel Brizola, que tinha como diretriz que o ensino público não se limita apenas às salas de aula e o apoio de Darcy Ribeiro e a vontade de pessoas com

Olivério Ferreira – o Xangô da Mangueira, Mestre Taranta (diretor de bateria da Mangueira) e Machine, entre outros, fundaram em 1985 a escola Corações Unidos do Ciep, atualmente a segunda agremiação mais antiga no grupo mirim. “Xangô da Mangueira foi o presidente que me deu a incumbência de cuidar da coreografia da comissão de frente e casais de mestre-sala e porta-bandeira” – declarou Machine.

O projeto desenvolvido por Careca com o Império do Futuro serviu de inspiração para a mangueirense Alcione, que juntamente com outras personalidades da verde e rosa como Dona Zica, Dona Neuma e Tia Jô, entre outros, fundaram a Mangueira do Amanhã – agremiação mirim da Estação Primeira de Mangueira, que este ano completa 30 anos. Em 1988, a Unidos de Vila Isabel através dos saudosos Afonsina Pires, a Dinorah e Mestre Tramquibe tem sua agremiação mirim fundada, os Herdeiros da Vila. Em outubro de 1989 a vermelha e branca tijucana funda sua agremiação, os Aprendizes do Salgueiro com intenso de Mirtes (mãe de Leonardo Bessa).

uma realidade. As escolas mirins desfilavam sempre antes das grandes escolas no Sambódromo. Em maio de 1988 foi fundada a entidade que representou as escolas mirins junto às autoridades e poder público, a Liga Independente das Escolas de Samba Mirins – LIESM. Os anos seguintes foram promissores para o carnaval mirim. Em 1990 surgem escolas com Nova Geração do Estácio de Sá, a Flor do Amanhã (projeto desenvolvido por Joãozinho Trinta com menores internos), e no ano seguinte, aparecem no cenário carnavalesco a Inocentes da Caprichosos (escola mirim da Caprichosos de Pilares), Infantes do Lins, Miúda da Cabuçu, Ainda Existem Crianças de Vila Kennedy e a já extinta Leãozinho de Iguaçu – a primeira agremiação mirim de um outro município, em Nova Iguaçu – Baixada Fluminense. Em 1992, a bicampeã Mocidade Independente, através de seu primeiro destaque e personalidade da verde e branca, Beth Andrade, funda a Estrelinha da Mocidade. Nesta época os desfiles eram organizados pela Liga Mirim que representava um grupo de dez agremiações, desfilando na sexta-feira de carnaval no Sambódromo.

A entidade representa atualmente 16 escolas mirins que encerram o maior espetáculo da Terra na Terça-feira de Carnaval, atendendo a um público 40 mil crianças e adolescentes do Rio e municípios vizinhos, além de outras cidades de estados em todo o país e jovens de países que se refugiaram no Brasil.

Os desfiles mirins em 2017 será no Sambódromo, dia 28 de fevereiro, a partir das 17h e 30 min, com a abertura realizada pelo cortejo mirim, formado pelo rei momo, rainha, princesas e cidadão samba mirim. Em seguida as escolas de samba desfilarão.As entradas são liberadas para o público. O término dos desfiles tem horário previsto para às 2h.

A Aesm-Rio além de Sérgio Murilo foi presidida por Paulo Cesar Alves e há dez anos tem como presidente Edson Marinho, sambista que há 35 anos milita no carnaval. Marinho, como é conhecido entre os militantes no carnaval carioca é presidente do conselho deliberativo da Estácio de Sá e compositor da vermelha e branca do Morro de São Carlos.

Uma atitude que objetivou o avanço do carnaval mirim

Em 2002 após discordarem dos rumos que o carnaval mirim vinha tomando representantes de sete agremiações adotaram a iniciativa de fundar uma entidade que as representasse junto aos órgãos competentes, demais entidades e pensasse o carnaval mirim como uma extensão do ensino. As escolas Corações Unidos do Ciep, Mangueira do Amanhã, Aprendizes do Salgueiro, Herdeiros da Vila, Golfinhos da Guanabara, Miúda da Cabuçu e Petizes da Penha, fundaram em 26 de junho de 2002, a Associação das Escolas de Samba Mirins, que teve como primeiro presidente o professor Sérgio Murilo. A partir de então projetos foram implementados objetivando ensinar para crianças e jovens como é desenvolvido um carnaval, através de cursos, oficinas e práticas de reforço escolas e esportivas, oferecendo às crianças e jovens oportunidades através da maior expressão de cultura do Rio de Janeiro, o samba e carnaval. A Aesm-Rio vem a cada ano formando parcerias com entidades governamentais e entidades ligadas ao carnaval, como a RIOTUR, LIESA, LIERJ e órgãos governamentais como a Prefeitura da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro e I Vara da Infância da Criança e do Idoso do Estado do Rio de Janeiro.

THERE IS A CHILD IN THE SAMBA.

F

rom the beginning of the first samba schools in Rio de Janeiro carnival until the era of the greatest manifestation of the carioca party, still in the 1950s, the participation of the children was always very intense. A proof of this is that in the samba school parades the presence of children sector is mandatory. In the 1940s Luiz Fernando do Carmo - Laila, renowned director of carnival of the Beija-Flor of Nilopolis, founded in the Morro do Salgueiro the Acadêmicos da Ladeira, a carnival group formed only by children of the community.

This group paraded three carnivals in the streets of Tijuca.

Rubens Confetti, a reference in Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival Journalism, tells us that the União Recreativa Unidos do Cabuçu, at the time of its foundation was also a child samba school.

But a visionary’s dream began to take shape in 1979 – The International Year of the Child. Arandi Cardoso dos Santos, the Careca from Império Serrano, at that time had the goal of founding a school that was genuinely formed by children.

Four years later Careca with the help of some renowned samba artists from the Imperio Serrano such as Roberto Ribeiro and Priminho, besides stars like Clara Nunes, Alcione, Martinho da Vila and João Nogueira, founded the Imperio do Future in August 5, 1983.

“We had the desire to found a samba school made up only of children.This seed began to germinate even in the late 1970s “- said Careca. But just founding a carnival group was not enough.Arandi Cardoso was focused in helping the rescue of children and adolescents, taking them from bad influences such as drugs and trafficking. “Through the spread of culture and education, we have rescued dozens of lives. From the initiative of Careca do Império Serrano, other samba artists such as Osmar Valença founded Alegria da Pasarela, bringing together children who developed all the kids carnival, being responsible for rising talents such as the siblings Dudu Nobre and Lucinha Nobre, as well as Leonardo Bessa.

Then a project developed by students and teachers of the Municipal School Minister Gama Filho, created the kids samba school Império das Princesas Negras, in the neighborhood of Lins de Vasconcelos. Because it was an educational project, the school did not parade in the carnival, but it paraded in December, in the streets of the Méier neighborhood.

Inspired by the model implanted by educators and students of Minister Gama Filho School, at the suggestion of the former governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Leonel Brizola, who had as a guideline that public education is not limited to classrooms and with the support of Darcy Ribeiro and some people like Olivério Ferreira - Xangô da Mangueira, Mestre Taranta (drum director of Mangueira) and Machine, among others, founded in 1985 the school Corações Unidos do Ciep, currently the second oldest group in the child group. “Xangô da Mangueira was the president who gave me the task of taking care of the choreography of the front commission and the couples of Meste Sala and Porta Bandeira,” said Machine.

The project developed by Careca with the Imperio do Futuro was an inspiration for the mangueirense Alcione, who along with other personalities from the green and pink samba school like Dona Zica, Dona Neuma and Tia Jô, among others, founded Mangueira do Amanhã – child group from Estação Primeira de Mangueira, this year it turns 30 years. In 1988, Unidos de Vila Isabel through Afonsina Pires, the Dinorah and Mestre Trambique founded their child association, the Herdeiros da Vila. In October of 1989 the red and white Tijucana founded its association; the Aprendizes do Salgueiro from Mrs. Mirtes ( Leonardo Bessa’s mother).

The child school parades were already reality in the late 1980s. They always paraded before the big schools in the Sambódromo. In 1992, two-time champion Mocidade Independente, through her biggest celebrity in the green and white school, Beth Andrade, founded the Estrelinha da Mocidade. At that time the parades were organized by the Liga Mirim that represented a group of ten associations and paraded on Carnival Friday in the Sambódromo.

An attitude that aimed the advancement of the child carnival In 2002, after disagreeing with the directions that the child carnival had been taking some representatives of seven associations adopted the initiative of founding a group that represented them next to the competent offices, other entities and thought the child carnival as an extension of the education.

The schools Corações Unidos do Ciep, Mangueira do Amanhã, Aprendizes do Salgueiro, Herdeiros da Vila, Golfinhos da Guanabara, Miúda da Cabuçu and Petizes da Penha founded on June 26th, 2002, the Associação das Escolas de Samba Mirins.

The first president was Professor Sérgio Murilo. Since then, projects have been implemented aiming to teach children and young people how the carnival is developed, through courses, workshops and practices to reinforce schools and sports, offering children and young people opportunities through the greater expression of culture of Rio de Janeiro, the Samba and carnival. Aesm-Rio year after year has made partnerships with the government offices and groups related to the carnival, such as RIOTUR, LIESA, LIERJ and government agencies such as

City Hall of Rio de Janeiro and 1st Vara da Infância da Criança e do Idoso do Estado do Rio de Janeiro.

The association currently represents 16 kids schools that present the biggest spectacle of the Earth on Tuesday Carnival, serving a public 40,000 children and adolescents from Rio and neighboring towns, as well as other cities of states across the country and young refugees who lives in Brazil.The kids parades in 2017 will be in the Sambódromo, on February 28th, at 5:30pm a with the opening made by the child court formed by king momo, queen, princesses and kids citizen samba . After that the samba schools will parade. The entry to the event is free of charge to the public. The end of the parades is about 2:00 a.m.

Sérgio Murilo was the president of Aesm-Rio, after him Paulo Cesar Alves and for the last ten years Edson Marinho has been the president, he is a samba artist who has been a member of the carnival for 35 years. Marinho, as he is known among the militants in the Carnival of Rio de Janeiro, is the president of the deliberative council of Estácio de Sá and a composer of the red and white of Morro de São Carlos.

Um tipo bem encorpado, “parrudão” mesmo, de estatura alta, mas que esconde no peito um coração dócil e um sorriso que brota largo já no primeiro contato. Este é Edson Marinho, Comandante Maior da Aesm-Rio. Nascido no bairro do Estácio e militando no samba por mais de três décadas, Marinho responde pelo Órgão que cuida dos Desfiles Mirins por dez anos. Uma gestão marcada por muitos avanços e pelo desenvolvimento do espetáculo que lota a Marquês de Sapucaí na Terça de Carnaval. Além disso, seu amor pelos Pequenos é notório. É comum vê-lo pela quadra do GRES Estácio de Sá envolvido com as panelas, sempre cozinhando para as crianças.

Para ele o sucesso da Aesm-Rio é fruto do empenho de sua diretoria e também dos presidentes das quinze escolas afiliadas: “Nosso papel neste período foi promover o crescimento e também gerar visibilidade cuidando da organização e da qualidade do espetáculo feito pela garotada. A dedicação de nossos colaboradores e também das escolas filiadas foram fundamentais neste êxito. Trabalhamos com muito amor para colocar um sonho na Avenida” – ressalta Marinho.

Apontando em direção ao futuro, o desafio agora é “dominar o planeta”! É que a Associação vem pleiteando um espaço junto à Prefeitura do Rio para montar o “Planeta do Samba Mirim’, local onde o lado social do “Movimento Samba Mirim” receberá maior atenção e a criança poderá ser atendida

com todo carinho e conforto, além servir de grande usina de carnaval para as agremiações:” Existe no papel um projeto voltado para educação, cultura e formação de profissionais e de cidadãos. O projeto “Planeta do Samba” além de servir às agremiações como locais para a confecção de seus carnavais, abrigará também cursos profissionalizantes, aulas de reforço escolar com professores altamente qualificados, espaços para a prática de diversos esportes, além de aulas de canto, cavaquinho, percussão, aderecistas, escultores. O nosso samba é uma ferramenta de inclusão e a criança precisa ser vista!

Ela precisa se sentir importante para a sociedade e saber que está se preparando de forma eficaz para o mundo que o espera lá fora.Tudo isso através dos estudos e de boa formação!”- finalizou.

Muitos são os motivos para comemorar, já que este é um ano bastante especial para a Associação das Escolas de Samba Mirins do Rio de Janeiro. Em junho se completam quinze anos de sua fundação e as comemorações serão muitas. De acordo com Edson Marinho elas começam com os desfiles na Sapucaí e culminarão num grande evento comemorativo marcado para a data do aniversário da Instituição!

AESM-RIO: WITH AN EYE TO THE FUTURE! The one who judges him only by his physical appearance will not be able to define him. He is bulky and really muscular, he is tall, but deep in his chest there is a docile heart and a large smile that appears at the first contact. This is Edson Marinho, Major Commander of Aesm-Rio. He was born in the Estácio neighborhood and he has been an activist for the samba for more than three decades, Marinho is responsible for the association that has been in charge of the kid’s carnival parades for ten years. In his opinion Aesm-Rio’s success is a result of the commitment of its board of directors and also of the presidents of the fifteen affiliated schools: “Our role in this period was to promote growth and also to generate visibility by taking care of the organization and the quality of the spectacle made by the kids. The dedication of our employees and also the affiliated schools was fundamental to this success. We work with lots of love to put a dream on the Avenue “- emphasizes Marinho.

Pointing toward the future, the challenge now is to “dominate the planet”! That is why the Association has been asking for a space to the City Hall of Rio to create the “Planeta do Samba Mirim “, a venue where the social area of the “Samba Mirim Movement” will receive more attention and the children can be attended with care and comfort, besides serving as a great carnival plant for the associations: “There is a project on paper focused on education, culture and training professionals and citizens. Our samba is an inclusion tool and the children need to be seen! They need to feel important to the society and to know that they are preparing themselves effectively for the world that waits them out of there. All of this through studies and good training! “- he finished.

There are many reasons to celebrate, since this is a very special year for the Associação das Escolas de Samba Mirins do Rio de Janeiro. It will be its 15th foundation anniversary next June and there will be many celebrations. According to Edson Marinho this celebrations will start with the parades in Sapucaí and will culminate in a great commemorative event scheduled for the anniversary date of the Institution!

O GLAMOUR DA AVENIDA THE GLAMOR OF THE AVENUE

Primeiros Destaques de Luxo, como: Carlos Reis, da Portela, Rodrigo Leocádio, da Mocidade Independente e Zezito Ávila, da Beija-flor de Nilópolis contam suas histórias, experiências e memórias que fazem a poesia carnaval na árdua e fantástica tarefa de manter a tradição do luxo carnavalesco.

Primeiro Destaque Masculino da Portela, Carlos Reis glamour em azul e branco Clara Nunes, Um verdadeiro Orixá vivo! Ela me disse: - Um dia você vai desfilar pela Portela. Em 1991 comecei a desfilar como Destaque a convite de Paulo Miranda e Carlos T. Martins, e tenho o maior orgulho de ser o 1º Destaque da Portela. A partir do ano de 1995, passei a vir na frente, abrindo os desfiles no abre-alas e recebi titulo de 1º Destaque Masculino, pela direção da escola. Além de ter o título de sócio Benemérito, sou membro do Conselho Deliberativo e padrinho da Torcida Portelamor. A escola como uma extensão da minha família.

Participei dos Concursos de Fantasia do Hotel Glória de 1991 à 2004. Acumulei uma coleção invejáveis de 2ºs lugares. Resaltando que em todos os anos era aclamado pela plateia como o verdadeiro Campeão. Alguns anos, até pelos jurados. Tive a honra de receber o troféu de “DESTAQUE DA DÉCADA”, pela Secretaria Municipal de Cultura do Rio de Janeiro. Difundi o nosso Carnaval em vários países pelo mundo afora, minhas Fantasias, já foram expostas no Canadá, França, Uruguai, Inglaterra e África do Sul. Participei de vários eventos governamentais, como apresentação para o Príncipe Charles e Princesa Diana da Inglaterra, no Palácio da Cidade, assim como, no Congresso dos Povos de Todo o Mundo, para todos os Presidentes do Planeta. No Palácio do Itamaraty e no MAM Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro. Neste carnaval virei com uma proposta super ousada e bem diferente dos anos anteriores será uma fantasia inovadora e de grande impacto. Mas, dentro dos meus padrões, Luxo e Glamour.

I participated in the Hotel Gloria Costume Contests from 1991 to 2004. I have accumulated an enviable collection of second places. It is important to say that in every year was acclaimed by the audience as the real Champion. Sometimes even by the jury.

I had the honor to receive the “Destaque da Década” trophy, by the Municipal Secretary of Culture of Rio de Janeiro. I spread our Carnival in several countries around the world; my costumes have already been exhibited in Canada, France, Uruguay, England and South Africa. I participated in several governmental events, such as a presentation to Prince Charles and Princess Diana in the Palace of the City, as well as in the Congress of the People of the World, for all the Presidents of the Planet. In the Itamaraty Palace and in the MAM Modern Art Museum of Rio de Janeiro. In this carnival I will present a daring and very different proposal from the previous years, it will be an innovative and with great impact costume. But according to my standards, Luxury and Glamor.

Some first Luxury Samba stars such as: Carlos Reis, Portela, Rodrigo Leocádio, Mocidade Independente and Zezito Ávila, from Beija-flor de Nilópolis tell their stories, experiences and memories that make carnival poetry in the arduous and fantastic task of maintaining the tradition of the carnival luxury.

Joias que vestem o pássaro dourado Zezito Avila Primeiro Destaque Masculino da Beija-flor de Nilópolis Minha história é uma história de vida dedicada ao samba ao carnaval, lá se vão 36 anos. Acho que tudo é possível quando você se dedica, como nós Destaques fazemos, abdicamos de tudo,convívio com os amigos, família para fazer o seu melhor por nossas escolas.

Para mim ser destaque é lúdico, uma coisa além que muitos acham impossível. Vestir uma roupa e se sentir a pessoa mais importante daquela avenida. Não menosprezando as pessoas, mas por se sentir rico, feliz, alegre, quando viro aquela Sapucaí eu acho que sou único, a pessoa mais bonita do espetáculo. Amo a minha arte. A Beija flor pra mim é tudo, me projetou para o mundo. Minhas roupas já foram expostas no mundo inteiro, Sou dos primeiros a expor no Museu do Louvre. “Tudo que conquistei foi através desta alegria que a Beija-flor me proporcionou e a emoção me toma por completo a revirar estas belas lembranças”.

“Comecei a desfilar como Destaque de Luxo há 25 anos. Passei por várias escolas, tais como Império Serrano, Renascer de Jacarepaguá e Caprichosos de Pilares. Há mais de 15 anos desfilo na minha escola de coração: Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel. Este ano de 2017 será ainda mais desafiador, pois desfilarei em outra do Grupo Especial, a Imperatriz Leopoldinense e na Série A, no Abre Alas da Inocentes de Belford Roxo, na qual também coordeno o grupo dos Destaques.

Quando estou em cima de um carro alegórico na Avenida o mundo me parece perfeito, a felicidade toma conta de mim e enquanto puder vou querer sentir isso, pois tenho consciência da importância dos Destaques de Luxo para suas agremiações e todas que eu vier a defender será com a dedicação e respeito que elas e o carnaval merecem”.

My story is a life story dedicated to the samba and the carnival, it has been 36 years. I think everything is possible when you dedicate yourself, as we the luxury samba stars do; we abdicate everything, socializing with friends and family to do our best to our schools. In my opinion it is playful, something beyond the impossible.

Wearing clothes and feel we are the most important person on that avenue. Not belittling other people but for feeling rich, happy, cheerful, when I enter in that Sapucaí Avenue I think I’m unique, the most beautiful person in the show. I love my art. Beija Flor for me is everything, it makes me famous abroad. My clothes have been exhibited all over the world; I am the first one to exhibit them in the Louvre Museum. “Everything I have conquered is through this joy that the Beija Flor has given to me and the emotion takes me completely to remind these beautiful memories.”

RAISSA: 15 ANOS MARAVILHOSA E SOBERANA DA BATERIA DA BEIJA-FLOR (ESPECIAL) Há 15 anos desfilando à frente da Bateria da Beija-flor de Nilópolis, Raissa de Oliveira cresceu e conquistou seu espaço. Fiel as suas origens, vive o dia-a-dia de sua agremiação e está presente a cada ensaio, exemplo para todos os componentes e demais aspirantes ao posto. Sua trajetória mostra em perfil transparente por que chegou aonde está. Beleza e simpatia, além da humildade são alguns dos pontos fortes desta que é maravilhosa e soberana, e de fato nilopolitana Raissa de Oliveira.

“O samba para mim não é só diversão, mas a cultura nosso pais e pode dar frutos a quem souber aproveitar as oportunidades, eu mesma pude me formar em jornalismo, apesar de não atuar na área, pois tive os estudos custeados pelo tio Anísio. Pra mim é muita honra representar meu pavilhão. E a ala de passista mirim que é o berço da onde eu vim, e pelo qual sou muito grata e tenho admiração muito grande a todas as que estão ali, a todas que são pequenininhas por eu comecei ali daquele jeitinho, no projeto. Do mesmo jeito que eu saí da ala desejo que outras tenham esta oportunidade

até mesmo em outras escolas, por que elas sonham em ser rainha. Hoje temos a Mangueira e a Portela, com rainhas da comunidade, é a comunidade voltando a ter força e eu fico muito feliz por isso.

Gostaria de agradecer a todos, a toda comunidade que me abraçou desde os 12 anos, a diretoria e administração, ao tio Laila que descobriu meu talento, ele é como um pai e foi fundamental no meu processo. A oportunidade que Sr. Anísio me deu. Sr. Farid, Dona Fabíola que sempre foi e é uma maravilhosa comigo.

Costumo falar que a Beija-flor me deu este presente, 15 anos de reinado, 15 anos de Raissa na Beija-flor, por este presente que é representar o pavilhão da minha escola só tenho a agradecer a eles, e a minha comunidade por tudo”.

Sua performance já é conhecida na passarela do samba, a moça integrou a corte do carnaval carioca 2015 e 2016 como primeira e segunda princesa.

“Ser rainha de Bateria da Portela sempre foi um sonho de menina. Eu desfilava ainda criança, admirando todas as lindas mulheres que lá passaram. Eu queria muito sair ali, mas, já era feliz em ser passista. A Portela é a maior campeã do Carnaval. É a escola da Tia Surica, do seu Monarco, do Paulo da Portela, do Zeca Pagodinho. É a escola de maior torcida, conhecida e respeitada dentro e fora do Brasil. Para mim é uma responsabilidade muito grande estar à frente da Tabajara do Samba.

João Batista é o único profeta que anuncia Jesus Cristo, o Messias. Através de sua vida, o enredo aborda vários aspectos, inclusive uma passagem ligada a Jesus, a Maria.

Viriato morreu em setembro de 1992.

A agremiação quer provar que todos os vilões são “inocentes” pois o único crime foi conquistar nossos corações.

RENASCER DE JACAREPAGUÁ A Renascer Vai promover um encontro fantasioso entre dois personagens negros, não contemporâneos, da cultura e da história do país: a escritora Carolina Maria de Jesus e João Cândido, o “Almirante Negro”, líder da Revolta da Chibata. O resgate da memória deles será mostrado na Avenida através de um bilhete lançado ao mar dentro de uma garrafa.

The Renascer will promote a fantastic meeting between two black characters, not contemporaries, of the culture and history of the country: the writer Carolina Maria de Jesus and João Cândido, the “Black Admiral”, leader of the Chibata Revolt. The redemption of their memory will be shown on the Avenue through a message thrown to the sea in a bottle.

O estilo de música que vai embala nossos carnavais de ruas e salões pelo Brasil afora até os dias de hoje The São Gonçalo Tiger comes happy, passionate, transgressor and debauched and it has found inspiration for his theme in something typical of the carioca carnival scene: the marchinhas. The style of music that will lead our carnivals of streets and halls throughout Brazil until nowadays.

POR DESFILES MAIS DINÂMICOS LIESA ESTABELECE MODIFICAÇÕES NO REGULAMENTO Evolução quesito onde é avaliada a velocidade e interação dos componentes de uma escola de samba em desfile. Em nome da evolução, a Liga Independente das Escolas de Samba (Liesa) estabeleceu de acordo com todas as agremiações, uma série de modificações no regulamento para os desfiles das escolas do Grupo Especial para 2017. Entre as quais, o tempo máximo de desfile que era de 82 minutos passa a ser de 75 minutos, para cada escola.

Os desfiles terão inicio às 22h, com isto as primeiras escolas de cada noite também terão seus desfiles transmitidos ao vivo pela TV. Outra mudança será no número de Alegorias: limite mínimo de 05 (cinco) e o máximo de 06 (seis), sendo permitida acoplagem de carros alegóricos apenas em 01 (uma) das Alegorias. É permitido, também, até 03 (três) elementos cenográficos (tripés), motorizados ou empurrados por equipes próprias, com até, no máximo, 02 (dois) componentes sobre cada um.

O número de componentes desfilando no chão fica a critério da agremiação, e isto segue sem qualquer alteração, desde que observado tempo mínimo e máximo de desfile.

As Cabines de Julgamento (1), (2), (3) e (4) estarão dispostas ao longo da pista de desfiles.

Como novidade, as cabines (2) e (3) ficarão juntas, no setor 6 do Sambódromo, mas cada uma delas terá julgadores de todos os quesitos. O que resultará em maior velocidade e dinamismo durante o desfile que totalizará apenas três paradas ao longo do percurso. Segundo a Liesa, a passagem das escolas vai ser mais empolgante, pois com isso, as escolas terão menos uma parada para exibição

LIESA ESTABLISHES MODIFICATIONS IN THE REGULATION IN ORDER TO HAVE MORE DYNAMIC PARADES. The Evolution is an item which the speed and interaction of the components of a samba school in a parade is evaluated. In the name of the evolution, the Liga Independente das Escolas de Samba (Liesa) has established, according to all the associations, a series of modifications in the regulations for the parades of the Special Group in 2017. For instance the maximum parade time was 82 minutes, now it will be 75 minutes for each school.

The parades will start at 10:00 pm so the first schools of each night will also have their parades broadcast live on TV. Another change will be in the number of allegories: minimum limit of 05 (five) and the maximum of 06 (six), being allowed linked floats only in 01 (one) of the Allegories. It is also allowed up to 03 (three) scenographic elements (tripods), motorized or pushed by their own teams, with the maximum of 02 (two) components on each one.

The number of components parading on the floor is at the samba school discretion; there was no change, provided that minimum and maximum parade time is observed.

The Judgment places 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be disposed along the parade track. As a novelty, the places (2) and (3) will stay together in Sector 6 of the Sambódromo, but each of them will have judges of all the items. This will result in a greater speed and dynamism during the parade and there will be only three stops along the course. According to Liesa, the passage of the schools will be more exciting, because they will have one less stop for exhibition

GRUPO ESPECIAL Abrindo a primeira noite dos desfiles do grupo especial, o Paraíso do Tuiuti trará o movimento tropicalista para a avenida mandando “aquele abraço” para o povo brasileiro. Em seguida a Grande Rio promete levantar a poeira com sua homenageada Ivete Sangalo, aonde será contada sua trajetória desde sua cidade natal até os dias atuais. Já a Imperatriz Leopoldinense traz a cultura indígena, vem trazer o clamor da floresta, através do verde do Xingu. A música estará presente do desfile da Vila Isabel, a escola cantará os ritmos através do som da cor. Inspirado na obra “A divina comédia’’ o Salgueiro traz para a avenida uma homenagem ao carnaval através de antigos carnavalesco com o objetivo de “carnavalizar a vida”, já a tribo Beija-Flor entrará na passarela cantando Iracema, inspirada no livro de José de Alencar a azul e branca traz uma história de amor para fechar o primeiro dia dos desfile.

O tema fará uma viagem pela cultura indígena, tendo como ponto de partida as diversas tribos da região do Xingu. Um dos principais objetivos do enredo é exaltar as peculiaridades dessa raça, como os rituais tribais, a natureza e o amor do índio pelo solo brasileiro. O enredo também vai comemorar os 55 anos de fundação do Parque Indígena do Xingu, que fica no Mato Grosso.

The theme will travel through the indigenous culture, starting with the various tribes of the Xingu region. One of the main objectives of the theme is to exalt the indigenous culture, the tribal rituals, the nature and the love of the Indian to the Brazilian soil. The theme will also commemorate the 55th anniversary of the Xingu Indigenous Park, located in Mato Grosso.

Vila Isabel, which traditionally shows cultural themes, will reveal in its theme the African origin of musical styles in the American continent. A vermelho e branco do Andaraí vai se inspirar na obra literária do italiano Dante Alighieri “A Divina Comédia” para fazer uma grande homenagem ao carnaval. Haverá uma reverência ao trio de ouro do Salgueiro: Joãozinho Trinta, Fernando Pamplona e Arlindo Rodrigues, carnavalescos que fizeram história no carnaval carioca.

A obra de José de Alencar deu origem ao enredo da azul e branca. O romance de Iracema conta a história de toda colonização da América. A forma que o colonizador chegou, se impôs, e o índio que se submeteu a colonização e acabou por muitas vezes morrendo. É a valorização dessa raça indígena.

GRUPO ESPECIAL Os tambores baterão contando a relação do tempo na União da Ilha que abre a segunda noite dos desfiles do grupo especial. Banquetes, bailes, palácios entre outras coisas serão contados em seu certo período da França que estará no desfile da São Clemente. A caravana da Mocidade chega à Sapucaí através do enredo sobre o Marrocos, onde a escola promete colocar o Aladin para tocar agogô. Já a música americana influenciada pelos negros estará no desfile da Unidos da Tijuca, a escola chama o “my brother” para sentir a batucada brasileira, enquanto que a Portela irá levar para a passarela a história dos rios, onde a escola nos levará para um mergulho poético nas águas doces do planeta. E quem fecha a maratona do especial é a atual campeã que traz um enredo de muita fé, “Só com a ajuda do santo” a verde e rosa abordará a religião à moda brasileira. A azul e amarela tijucana cantará a influência do negro na formação musical americana.O enredo surge a partir de um encontro real entre Pixinguinha e Louis Armstrong, que aconteceu em 1957, promovido pelo presidente da época, Juscelino Kubitschek, no palácio do Catete. Iremos descobrir pelos ritmos e personagens em que o Brasil se cruza com os EUA. Nesse passeio vamos fazendo uma ligação de um estilo com o outro.

CACIQUE DE RAMOS SOB AS BÊNÇÃOS DA TAMARINEIRA!

U

m muro branco, alto, na Rua Uranos, no bairro de Olaria, Zona Norte do Rio de Janeiro, guarda uma espécie de tesouro cultural de nossa cidade. O Cacique de Ramos foi fundado em 20 de janeiro de 1961 pelas famílias: Félix do Nascimento (Bira, Ubirany e Ubiraci), família Oliveira (Walter, Chiquita, Sereno, Alomar, Jorginho e Mauro) e pela família Espírito Santo (Aymoré e Conceição). Lá dentro, a tamarineira, árvore símbolo do bloco, parece abençoar encontros e construir rede de relações com um nítido viés familiar. Conhecido como Bira Presidente, o cantor, compositor, percussionista, pandeirista e integrante do Grupo Fundo de Quintal, Ubirajara Félix do Nascimento, preside o Cacique desde a sua fundação. Entre seus componentes estão os membros do grupo, que se originou do próprio bloco, que tem como madrinha a cantora Beth Carvalho!

Cantores e compositores, que mais tarde tornaram-se conhecidos, como Almir Guineto, Dudu Nobre, Jovelina Pérola Negra, Arlindo Cruz, Sombrinha e Jorge Aragão, participaram, no início da década de 1970 e parte de 1980, do “Pagode da Tamarineira”, na quadra do bloco.

Em seus primeiros desfiles, o Cacique saía pelas ruas do bairro de Ramos e mais tarde na Av. Presidente Var-

gas, concorreu diversas vezes com o Bafo da Onça.

Personalidades, jogadores de futebol, jornalistas e artistas, passaram pelo bloco, sedimentando ainda mais a sua história.

A Medalha Tiradentes, recebida em 2011, representou o reconhecimento do Cacique em relação à cultura do estado do Rio de Janeiro, e em 2012 foi enredo da Estação Primeira de Mangueira. Hoje o bloco desfila na Avenida Chile no domingo, segunda e terça de Carnaval, às 17 horas.

Cacique de Ramos, under the blessings of the tamarind tree!

A white and high wall at Uranos Street, in the Olaria neighborhood, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, holds a kind of cultural treasure of our city. The Cacique de Ramos was founded on January 20, 1961 by the families: Félix do Nascimento (Bira, Ubirany and Ubiraci), Oliveira family (Walter, Chiquita, Sereno, Alomar, Jorginho and Mauro) and the Espírito Santo family (Aymoré and Conceição ). Inside, the tamarind tree, symbol of the group, it seems to bless the meetings and build a network of relationships with a clear familiar bias. s vésperas de completar 80 anos, no próximo 23 de março de 2017, Bira Presidente construiu mais do que um Patrimônio Cultural da Cidade Maravilhosa. Ostentando uma vitalidade invejável está à frente do Cacique de Ramos há 56 anos e tem sua vida dedicada ao Samba integralmente, afinal lá se vão 41 anos de Grupo Fundo de Quintal.

Conhecido por sua nata liderança conduz sua tribo de bambas como um pai, a Família Caciqueana, composta por seus Diretores de Ouro, Alas Reunidas, Corte de Beldades, além dos incalculáveis admiradores do bloco carnavalesco. O Cacique Maior se orgulha dos frutos das Tamarineiras, consagradas por D. Conceição (sua mãe) e Mãe Menininha do Gantois, lá pelos idos de 1960/61. Árvores que abençoam os sambistas e artistas que por lá passaram, de lá saíram, e os que por lá se encontram, e são muitos, os hoje chamados, Tamarindos de Ouro.

Tema de filme que contará sua história e a trajetória do bloco, Bira Presidente recebe homenagens e fãs de todo o mundo. Reconhecido por seu talento com seu inseparável pandeiro e a destreza ao bailar o Miudinho fez e sustentou fama e amizades de grande valor. É, com certeza, forjado na fé, carregado de axé.

pproaching his 80 birthday, next March 23th, 2017, The President Bira had built more than a Cultural Heritage of the Cidade Maravilhosa. He demonstrates an enviable vitality, he has been in charge of the Cacique de Ramos group for 56 years and he has had his life completely dedicated to the Samba, in fact Fundo de Quintal Group has existed for 41 years.

He is known for his naive leadership and he leads his tribe of experts like a father, the Cacique Family is composed by its Gold Directors, Grouped wings, Beautiful Ladies Court, besides the incalculable admirers of the carnival group. The Cacique Maior is proud of the fruits of the tamarind tree, consecrated by Mrs. Conceição (his mother) and Mãe Menininha do Gantois, in the 1960’s. The trees that bless the samba artists and the artists who had passed there,the ones who had left, and those who are still there, and there are many of them, nowadays they are called the Gold Tamarind.

He will be a movie theme, it will tell his history and the trajectory of the group, President Bira receives tributes and fans from all over the world. He is recognized for his talent with his inseparable pandeiro and for his skill in dancing samba he made and sustained fame and friends of great value.He is certainly shaped in faith, full of axé.
